My experience at this hotel was terrible. Every step of the way was just a pain. I attended for a large tabletop gaming tournament. When I first arrived to check in - they could not find my reservation even with the confirmation code. Eventually they found my room under a different last name. It makes no sense as I had reserved online and had the direct email confirmation. Walking the halls there was just a mouse in the hallway near the vending area. (Photo) I get there's probably mice around a place this big but its also just no very clean and if there's just mice in the hallway who knows where else they are... The rooms are just ok. The bath fans don't do anything and look dirty and the shower is kinda gross. The rugs in the hallway are just like taped to the tile floor and it looks tacky. Breakfast is 18$ for the same breakfast you get free from any other hotel. And the WORST part was that before I checked out of the hotel at noon (which is checkout time) someone from housekeeping came and took my personal things from my room and flipped he room. They took a few hundred dollars worth of things including a big pelican hard case with my hand painted Warhammer figures... like it was just gone. So I had to spend an hour stressed out until finally my case was returned to me. (Don't know if that was all that was taken) and they didn't offer to make it right in anyway... All in all every part of the experience the hotel could control - from check in, cleanliness, pricing, food and check out was all negative. Next year will definitely stay elsewhere.

Really terrible experience! I wish I could give this a zero stars. My wife and I purchased a package for our wedding which included a free one year anniversary stay at the CPW. We arrived and they stated that we had been charged and they couldn’t refund us. We had booked ahead and had been assured by guest services that we would be refunded. Apparently we “booked through the wrong website” (meaning-of their parent company IGH-and if I’m not mistaken, the only website that is on the first page of google searches) so of course there was “nothing they could do”. The Crowne Plaza West has put me through emotional and financial hell and ruined my anniversary-which began in tears while the front desk staff did nothing. I am still emotionally scarred from this incident and will direct any and all of you away from this hotel unless you want to be thrown around between the unhelpful front desk and their useless parent company who make it their duty to keep a crying lesbians’ $200 on her anniversary. The customer care services are useless and have sent me in a circular email chain which state that it’s the hotels problem to refund me but because of the IGH contract they cannot. TLDR I purchased a wedding package from CPW then was charged again for a room I was promised would be free. #fraud Edit 8/4/2024-I am still waiting to be contacted and have received no information.

What a shame this Crown Plaza is!!! Back in its prime, I am sure it was a great place. Perhaps they are better when they have a conference. But, on a Friday when they don’t have one going on, it’s like a ghost town. When I arrived and walked up to the counter, the young lady was sitting in an office and was obviously not happy that I interrupted the scrolling on her phone. She gave me the form to fill out and when I asked if I needed to go out and get my plate number, she looked at me with that Gen Z stare and said, “The form asks for it so yes, you have to.” When I went to my room, an employee opened the door next door from the inside, glared at me, went back in the room then ran the vacuum for 20 minutes. I went to get something out of my vehicle and another employee was standing in the lobby arguing on her cell phone then proceeded to sit down in a chair looking frumpy and scrolled through her phone. Not once did any employee say hi or smile when passing. I was looking forward to using the hot tub. It looked like a science experiment. Went to the bar for dinner and the server there was the only saving grace of the place! Had a wonderful shrimp and pasta dish! Had a very restless night of sleep because you could hear everything going on in the hotel outside of the room.

Poor Management response and unprofessional. My review

We have been contracted to do our international event here for the last three years. We will not be renewing this next year.

I can start with the part where this location no longer takes cash- we’ve always paid a portion with cash, as we are an international event and many of our attendees pay us in cash for this event. Crowne Plaza West Plymouth MN

Despite coming to the front desk to try to pay the bill, when the cash was not accepted, I was placing the money into a bank account to settle this and the staff went to one of the rooms we had rented, kicked out my attendees, AND THEN STATED OUT LOUD TO ALL ATTENDEES THAT WE DIDNT PAY OUR BILL AND THAT IS WHY THEY WERE LOCKING ALL OUR ROOMS— despite the fact that I had been trying to pay them and come up with a secondary solution to pay- the two years previous had been paid in a mix of card and cash. This was new. In the end, they took our cash anyway and opened the doors again. But our event started a half hour late that day.

Stating to all our attendees that we could not pay was beyond unprofessional and completely abhorrent.

One of our attendees’ room was canceled two days before the event (even though she was reserved) and they couldn’t explain why. They ended up giving her a downgraded room as the one she reserved was no longer available. Then, her second day in, they rented the room out to someone else WHO WALKED IN ON HER WITH HIS KEY CARD!!! They tried to tell her that her reservation was up. She was able to prove it was not, but what if she had been undressed when a random man walked in to her room?!?! Then she was DOUBLE CHARGED for the room when it was all done and she was over drafted on her personal account due to it!!!

Another member of our group had no AC, one found CONDOMS under her room chair, another had hair and bugs in the room, another saw used syringes in the landscaping, and another had used towels still in the room. Photos are available of each of these claims,

Many of our members reported asking for housekeeping, and never getting it. Some were left with no towels and out of toilet paper. When a cart came by, one member took toilet paper from the cart, and was scolded! This event had 4+ overnights for our members. No clean towels for over 4 days.

The event asked for specific staging and when I was not given this, I was challenged that I didn’t book that way. I was able to provide the emails speaking of this set up. Regardless, they couldn’t provide enough risers and the stage was so small that people knocked multiple lights/decorations off the stage throughout the event.

There was a children’s soccer game nearby and most kids must have been hosted there. They were spitting over balconies, leaving trash everywhere and etc. in the final night one assaulted a woman there and cops were called.

Then, to top it all, I go to my accounts yesterday to find the hotel also TRIPLE charged my accounts. When calling them, they could not come up with a reason why it happened! I have had to dispute this with my financial institution to resolve. It still isn’t completed and my account is in the negative. We are a not for profit organization and I cannot pay our promised donations at this time due to this.

Their only saving grace is Milton, at the front desk. He had great customer service and was a complete gem in an otherwise glisten-less experience.

Basically, if you want to do an event here, find somewhere new.

Edit: in response to the horrible reply by the hotel manager- this team does not explain away why other members of my group have now also been charge multiple additional fees etc, that one got a charged a no show fee- but was there- and much much more. This has moved past comical to...

I thought the pics of the hotel were really cool. The entrance into the hotel and the view of the rooms corridor is very different from standard hotels. However, there were several things that made us very mixed about whether we would stay here again. It's definitely an older hotel and you can tell that they had done some updates. It doesn't seem as though they were fully completed or maybe they (contractor) just cut corners in the bathroom and didn't finish? We got there and had no ice bucket, so I went to call for one. The phone in the room is completely dead. No power, no dial tone, no anything. I have to use my cell to call the front desk. We got one sent up and went to the ice machine - it's not working and/ or turned off. There's major mineral build-up or dirt or something. Husband said if it was working, he likely wouldn't have gotten any anyway. I went to put my clothes away in the dresser and the drawer (at least the top one) was broken. The bed was very comfortable, and we did enjoy the number of provided channels - regular and movie. The next morning, we go to take showers and the hot water takes forever. I mean 5 - 7 minutes. Then when it gets there, it's in and out the entire length of the shower. We both had it turned all the way to max and it kept fluctuating from hot to luke-warm the entire length of the shower. I did like the provided hair care products. Housekeeping started knocking on our door after I got out of the shower at 8:47am. I told them hold on so I could get clothes on, and she didn't hear me and opened our door. Luckily the latch was on the door so that she didn't walk in on us. I'm not sure who thinks that Housekeeping at 8:47am on a WEEKEND especially is appropriate. A lot of people enjoy sleeping in. We did use the mini-fridge in the room. It worked great. The room seemed to be very clean. The front desk supervisor was very nice during check-in. We didn't use their on-site restaurant but I know...
