Poor Management response and unprofessional. My review
We have been contracted to do our international event here for the last three years. We will not be renewing this next year.
I can start with the part where this location no longer takes cash- we’ve always paid a portion with cash, as we are an international event and many of our attendees pay us in cash for this event. Crowne Plaza West Plymouth MN
Despite coming to the front desk to try to pay the bill, when the cash was not accepted, I was placing the money into a bank account to settle this and the staff went to one of the rooms we had rented, kicked out my attendees, AND THEN STATED OUT LOUD TO ALL ATTENDEES THAT WE DIDNT PAY OUR BILL AND THAT IS WHY THEY WERE LOCKING ALL OUR ROOMS— despite the fact that I had been trying to pay them and come up with a secondary solution to pay- the two years previous had been paid in a mix of card and cash. This was new. In the end, they took our cash anyway and opened the doors again. But our event started a half hour late that day.
Stating to all our attendees that we could not pay was beyond unprofessional and completely abhorrent.
One of our attendees’ room was canceled two days before the event (even though she was reserved) and they couldn’t explain why. They ended up giving her a downgraded room as the one she reserved was no longer available. Then, her second day in, they rented the room out to someone else WHO WALKED IN ON HER WITH HIS KEY CARD!!! They tried to tell her that her reservation was up. She was able to prove it was not, but what if she had been undressed when a random man walked in to her room?!?! Then she was DOUBLE CHARGED for the room when it was all done and she was over drafted on her personal account due to it!!!
Another member of our group had no AC, one found CONDOMS under her room chair, another had hair and bugs in the room, another saw used syringes in the landscaping, and another had used towels still in the room. Photos are available of each of these claims,
Many of our members reported asking for housekeeping, and never getting it. Some were left with no towels and out of toilet paper. When a cart came by, one member took toilet paper from the cart, and was scolded! This event had 4+ overnights for our members. No clean towels for over 4 days.
The event asked for specific staging and when I was not given this, I was challenged that I didn’t book that way. I was able to provide the emails speaking of this set up. Regardless, they couldn’t provide enough risers and the stage was so small that people knocked multiple lights/decorations off the stage throughout the event.
There was a children’s soccer game nearby and most kids must have been hosted there. They were spitting over balconies, leaving trash everywhere and etc. in the final night one assaulted a woman there and cops were called.
Then, to top it all, I go to my accounts yesterday to find the hotel also TRIPLE charged my accounts. When calling them, they could not come up with a reason why it happened! I have had to dispute this with my financial institution to resolve. It still isn’t completed and my account is in the negative. We are a not for profit organization and I cannot pay our promised donations at this time due to this.
Their only saving grace is Milton, at the front desk. He had great customer service and was a complete gem in an otherwise glisten-less experience.
Basically, if you want to do an event here, find somewhere new.
Edit: in response to the horrible reply by the hotel manager- this team does not explain away why other members of my group have now also been charge multiple additional fees etc, that one got a charged a no show fee- but was there- and much much more. This has moved past comical to...

Read moreI thought the pics of the hotel were really cool. The entrance into the hotel and the view of the rooms corridor is very different from standard hotels. However, there were several things that made us very mixed about whether we would stay here again. It's definitely an older hotel and you can tell that they had done some updates. It doesn't seem as though they were fully completed or maybe they (contractor) just cut corners in the bathroom and didn't finish? We got there and had no ice bucket, so I went to call for one. The phone in the room is completely dead. No power, no dial tone, no anything. I have to use my cell to call the front desk. We got one sent up and went to the ice machine - it's not working and/ or turned off. There's major mineral build-up or dirt or something. Husband said if it was working, he likely wouldn't have gotten any anyway. I went to put my clothes away in the dresser and the drawer (at least the top one) was broken. The bed was very comfortable, and we did enjoy the number of provided channels - regular and movie. The next morning, we go to take showers and the hot water takes forever. I mean 5 - 7 minutes. Then when it gets there, it's in and out the entire length of the shower. We both had it turned all the way to max and it kept fluctuating from hot to luke-warm the entire length of the shower. I did like the provided hair care products. Housekeeping started knocking on our door after I got out of the shower at 8:47am. I told them hold on so I could get clothes on, and she didn't hear me and opened our door. Luckily the latch was on the door so that she didn't walk in on us. I'm not sure who thinks that Housekeeping at 8:47am on a WEEKEND especially is appropriate. A lot of people enjoy sleeping in. We did use the mini-fridge in the room. It worked great. The room seemed to be very clean. The front desk supervisor was very nice during check-in. We didn't use their on-site restaurant but I know...
