Update: 2/13/18 - Still no response from the hotel. Please stay clear! Cleanliness To start off the hotel was not the cleanest hotel, but I have seen worse, but not much worse. There were many dangerous things all around the hotel. Broken glass on a fire extinguisher, water all over the floor by the ice and vending machine, exposed security boxes. Our room was not what I would consider clean. It was obvious it was never deep cleaned. Upon walking into our bathroom, I immediately slipped. It was as if the floor was cleaned with nonstick cooking spray. Even after wiping the floor down with the hotel towels, it was still slippery. I know this because my recently turned 4-year-old daughter fell as well. The only reason we stayed in the hotel was to celebrate her birthday with just the family. The Room When we arrived in our room it was very hot; 80 degrees. As usual we started the AC, because most hotels keep the air off in the rooms while they are unoccupied. The room never cooled down, staying at 80 degrees and never lowered below 78 degrees. The next day, with the whole family aggravated from the lack of sleep due to the heat, we noticed a broken wood panel halfway hanging against a wall. Upon moving this panel, with no force, we noticed the AC unit, which seemed to be in terrible condition. Not to include the exposed wires and sharp screws. The Staff/Experience When we checked in we were never given the package we paid for, which included a $25 Green Mill gift card and two tickets to a show performed on site. I had to approach the front desk latter to ask for the Green Mill gift card to which the front desk attendant and owner didn't even know about. I overheard their conversation stating it was an offer given on Google, when I purchased the offer from their website directly. After a long discussion, wasting my time, they reluctantly gave me a $25 gift card to the Green Mill, but never gave me the show tickets valued around $25 a piece. The Pool Some of play structures in the pool were very rusty, and the pool was very chlorinated. Not an amazing pool overall. They do have play structures, but like I said, they were rusty, and I feel unmaintained. The Food The Green Mill which was attached to the hotel was another horrible experience. Immediately entering in I was harassed by a customer, completely drunk, supplied with free drinks all night from the staff. Supposable, per the drunk customer, was given to her because she choked on a condom in her food (Noodles), I am assuming it was not a condom, but was plastic in her food. None the less, that is what she said, and I do not know the extent of the truth on this. Also, this customer, to whom was sitting at the bar, in front of the bartender, consistently tried coaxing me into having sexual intercourse with them or asking if they can perform felatio on me. This was a very awkward situation, and the person was completely over served. I frequently looked at the bartender to for help in the situation, and even repeatedly asked if I can order my food. I just wanted to put in my order and bolt away and out of there. I was ignored every time I requested to put in an order, so eventually I walked to the register to where one the Manager was working. The Manager seemed upset and not happy to be working, but I was able to put in an order away from the female creeper. The manager seemed to be a family man married, and most likely a nice guy, but he had this look on his face and carried himself in a way I have seen before. This was a look of a man who was very unhappy with his job, but he was only working to provide for his family. The bartender did eventually apologize for ignoring me. He stated it was a crazy night, not because they were busy, but because of an incident earlier. Overall I highly do not recommend staying at this hotel nor eating at this Green Mill. There are major safety concerns. This is not a family environment , with over served customers at the bar and countless drunk and loud guests. If this is the last hotel, sleep in your car or stay at home.

My first night was not good. There was a considerable amount of hair on all 3 pillows as well as the bed. I asked for extra sheets and threw them on top of the bed. The manager apologized and I went to bed. The only thing that saved this from being a less rating is the fact that my bed was much cleaner after housekeeping went through it in the morning. There was a problem and they fixed it. I get it things happen, but it kind of ruined my stay worrying that first night if I was going to get bed bugs or something else. For paying over $200 for two nights I expected better. Other nitpicky things- I looked under the bed and saw a forest of dust in addition to a candy wrapper and a cigarette. There was also hair all over in the bathtub, and when I showered the water drained very slowly which made me feel like I was standing in gross hair water. The paint was coming off the door to my room which doesn't give off a good first impression. The bottom most drawer likes to slide open which could be a death sentence to an elderly person going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Lastly when I first entered my room it smelled like someone microwaved a bunch of old Taco John's. It does have a pool although I didn't use it so I can't speak on it. Based on my experience I'd have to say try looking somewhere else first, but this place can do in a pinch. Someone more outspoken than myself could probably complain for a free night or something but I really would just rather not deal with a gross room in the first place.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. It’s hot as hell everywhere in this hotel. We had to get our room moved because the ac was not working in our room, on a 95 degree day. Had to wait over 30+ minutes to get switched to a new room. The quality of this hotel is absolutely terrible and needs remodeling done. There are weird people walking around and begging for things, making my children feel unsafe. It seems they have 1 employee working. The housekeeping people were also children who didn’t even seem old enough to work. I will never stay at this hotel or any hotel owned by this company again. Cheap and not clean all around. I’m disgusted. What they advertise on their website is nothing how it is in real life. Update on my review. I was reached by the Minnesota Health Department with their discovery of a parasite at this place. Both of my children got sick after leaving this place. I’m disgusted. My review is spot on. Stay far away from this place

Save yourself the trouble and do not stay at this place. My family and i booked a two bed room and arrived at around 2pm. I checked in and asked about the pool's location and they told me where it was. Ok no problems so far until we started to unload and walk to our room. The rugs on the stairs were frayed and in need of repair really badly, they were redoing a few rooms but left paint cans and a TON of paint chips scattered everywhere in the hallway, bags of garbage were piled up on the hallway floors in several areas, and parts of the carpet stunk and were super damp. This was just on the way to our room. We get in the room and found red stains on the walls and ceilings, dark red, they did a terrible paint job on the door which was just splotches of paint on numerous areas to cover up what looked like dents from people kicking them, and the bathtub had a weird viscous fluid on it that i had to clean up. Nasty nasty nasty but i figured we could just go down by the kiddie pool so our 3 and 5 year old could go play, which was the main reason i chose the hotel was for the kiddie pool. But when we get there the pool is closed we cant get in. So i went to the front desk and was informed that the pool wont be ready until 6 pm that evening. Wish they had told me when i checked in and specifically asked about the pool. And when i mentioned that something should have been said all they did was just shrug and nod. No care given nothing like that. We chose to go to the pool instead of sealife that day so waited around until six. Pool still wasnt open and i went to talk to the desk and a different person was there. He was confused about why i was asking about the pool and gave me a shrug and an oh, he then proceeded to ignore me and go onto his computer. So i went back to the pool and had my husband go talk to him since i must have confused him. Husband came back and told me that the kiddie pool was closed but the big one wasnt and the front desk didnt know when it will be ready. That was it for me and i went to the front desk and told them that we would be leaving. He said oh ok and canceled the room. It took us 15 minutes to get dressed and packed up only to find that while we were packing he deactivated the room keys so we couldnt go in and out of the room or building to finish packing. Went to the front desk and got back in the room to get the rest of our stuff and mentioned why he deactivated the cards without giving us at least 20 minutes to pack up? And he looked at me and said oh.....yeah.... and went on playing on his phone. Like come on show something or at least say sorry that you were lied to and that the hotel conditions were disgusting. But nope i would have gotten more of a response from a rock that had googley eyes glued onto it. We stayed elsewhere and had to pay double since it was last minute booking. It wasnt even busy at the hotel since it was a Monday! No reason for this awful garbage. Do yourselves a favor and...

Friendly housekeepers, friendly staff, quiet place. When checking in for my reservation I was given a two bed room instead of a one bed room for the same price because they ran out of one beds - which I was really happy about because me and my cat needed the extra space.

There was a slight mishap, which did get resolved, that I feel is worth knowing. I had to extend my stay while my place gets remodeled, and I didn't want to have to move all my stuff to a single, one bed room just to keep the same price I was being charged. Asked the front desk about this at night, was told that they let you keep the same room if you extend your reservation. Next day around noon, tried to extend my reservation - different guy working, told me that if I stay in the same room, the difference would be an extra 10 dollars per day. Skeptical, I waited until night time and asked the night shift guy the same thing, and he told me since I was using a website to book (my mom booked it, I didn't know) I'd have to make another reservation through that website to get the same price. I told him to for sure extend my reservation for that night - the next morning, housekeeping is knocking and expected me to have left! I didn't know that you have to pay up-front, and the least he could have done was let me know that! I was pretty clear about telling him to extend it for one more day. So anyway, housekeeping was there in the morning asking, and I went to the front desk. Same guy as the first time I asked, who told me it'd be an extra 10 dollars. I told him that I need to extend for another week, and that I have to go through the booking website I went through before to get the same price and that my mom's booking it right now. After I said my mom's re-booking through the website, he immediately agreed to give me the same price to extend my stay in the same room, and I paid right there, and he was nice enough to finally clarify that they are pre-paid stays.

WOW. I never thought that such a simple task could be like pulling teeth!

Unrelated to employees, the beds are absolutely terrible! I've been here for two weeks and this morning I could barely move my neck. My first few nights here, my upper back and shoulders were stiff and sore! I don't have back problems! This is the first time ever that my back hurts like this! My neck hasn't been this stiff ever! Absolutely terrible and extremely arthritis-inducing mattresses. I'd rather sleep on the floor, but there's not...
