Off The Hookah North — Restaurant in Pompano Beach

Wish I could say good things but I hosted an event at venue, the owner was personable but his employee runs scams posing as the event coordinator for the venue. The employee (Montia Hawthorne) told me it would be $600 to rent the venue for 4 hours and pressures additional hours to cover the opening times of the venue. Mr.Hawthorne informed me I'd be paying to RENT THE SPACE. I talked to the owner and he said he was not aware of the arrangement and did not receive pay. Throughout the entire process I was denied an itemized receipt or invoice due to busyness. After speaking with the owner and realizing their employee is scamming additional payments from unsuspecting clients as the event coordinator I contacted Mr.Hawthorne. First time visiting this place and definitely the last . Stoped by for a hookah and a drink which was ok but if your going to charge $35 for a hookah (which I don't mind paying for)at least don't use the cheap coals . The server brings back the bill and I check out . She comes back and ask for gratuity. I said i already paid 18%.she said 'oh,anything on the bill doesn't go to me and the owners take my tip.when I first started working here they said I would get tips but they never give me any 'What??? DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!! SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. We walked in and seated ourselves and no one came to our table for 20 mins. Then my brother flagged down the young woman at the bar and she asked “are we ready for drinks” and then proceeded to let us know that the bartender was not there yet. My brother then asked “so y’all aren’t serving drinks at the moment?” and she said “well what do you want to drink?” and literally walked away afterwards. We threw up our hands in confusion and decided to leave. No one tried to stop us until we go to the door and the young lady sitting there asked us how long we were waiting and that we should’ve came to her to ask for service! Ha!
