There is quite a few options around this area and although this hotel may be slightly more in cost especially weekdays weekends its about the same at all places around here and weekdays you could expect the cheapest stay to be 80-100 for awa less safe, less clean, less private, less convenient location as its right on the border of Redwood City And the more upscale posh city of San Carlos on the main road at 316 El Camino with walking access to 24 hr stores and gas stations and the cross street is a highway exit for 101 a two minute drive from the exit which plus has a pool and private customer only entry onto the property which is a huge difference maker in the safety, especially if you have children you would definately only have a few options where youd feel ok with your kids at a pool and this is one of them. There is a buffet breakfast each day with belgium waffles, eggs, sausages, muffins, cereal, toast, espresson, juices, yogurts, water, granola, oatmeal, and more that is freshly pu out about 6am which is a plus for any traveling workers or people out the door early and it is included free which is well worth the extra cost in my case because next door at Stacks the same thing is about $50 dollars for the same breakfast equivalent. And I would have to personally say the way the General Manager here operates and even down to his professional appearance if youre lucky enough to arrive and interact with him, is something that truly is on a level which makes the entire vibe feel like you are being treated hand over fist the way that really counts, he is the most intelligent, professional, non bias, helpful, understanding, and straight talking honest Manager out of all hotels in the area and i have been in them all...Because he really stands out to me as someone who really does try to go above and beyond what you would even expect and that as any traveler knows, at times what could really matter the most to make or break a person or families entire vacation into a nightmare without someone who is intelligent and understanding and who really does care about you as a customer and take pride in the way you feel here on a level i am truly just realizing and putting down as i rereview this hotel the reason i rated it five star is because its Managed by someone that you can literally see and feel would easily be one of the Managers of any level of this industry and this is an average affordable level 3 star hotel that is decent but the Personable Manager plus breakfast privacy and security for this area make the tiny things which can really be overlooked until you deal with them in the moment you need them to be there for you and the entire staff is friendly but the Two stars ive added are based on real life proven experiences and the proven results and the truth. Because this is a smaller hotel and it is a saturated area and mix of low to high class choices this is the only place you can expect to really feel like you do when you are paying much much more in fact i would say if you do have children this might be the only place a budget family would be able to enjoy and stay close to this place due to the pool which is rarely used buy ready even with handicap lift entry so ... Its a good place perhaps the best place if you like smaller private places in this area for this price range you would be pretty much taking a big chance over the small price difference that could result in a nightmare over the small cost over the cheapest and shady options only two hotels are managed by good people who care and the others really treat everyone like they dont have the time to care or help and just dont care or help in some cases. Here you find answers when needed but a smooth easy private safe quick experience is the idea and if you need someone human you find that all here but at no time are you bothered or treated as whiif your requests are an issue... So to be honest... Sequioa=Crackheads Goodnight inn is managed by an offensive and ignorant jerk who decided to put one microwave outside the lobby for 100 guests to use in rain

This place is disgusting. First room had a bug infestation in the bathroom. I tried to kill them but there were too many. When I exited the bathroom I saw smooshed bug carcasses all around the bathroom door and entryway. Obviously this has been a problem for a while and either other guests or housekeeping has been working around it. I'm assuming they were drain flies because one of them BIT ME! Most likely coming out of the many leaks in the ceiling, floor, and walls. Owner has not been safely and appropriately dealing with water damage and hygiene issues around the property. I found someone's colored contact lens on the ground in the second room they gave me, bubbled up leak in the bathroom ceiling, and pink staining everywhere (Mold? Spray paint to mask carpet wear?). The two rooms I was in should be closed to the public and completely redone before a health or safety event occurs.

It's been ok so far staying for three weeks... Rooms are good with air conditioning. Wish there were more storage but guess this isn't a long stay... Also wished there was extra blankets as it gets quite cold in February and the bedding seems light... For the price they offer free parking and breakfast... That is great for me... Just wished they separated the sausage from the scrambled eggs in the serving bowl so it's more vegetarian friendly... Coffee is excellent. Some of the best I've had in the USA... Also great waffles and bread selection... Gotta give it a try. There is a pool for summer as well. Update: don't know how they knew I was cold because they soon brought me a blanket for my second week of my stay

If I could give this establishment 10 stars I would. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beds were super comfy. Inn room coffee and extra toiletries provided.Sequoia Hospital is literally around the corner and up the street. Starbucks and a few restaurants are within walking distance. There are other restaurants and shopping a very short drive away. I can go on about the rooms, but what put this establishment over the top for me was the staff. I cannot say enough about the hospitality and care they extended to my father and I. I had booked the room for a Thursday through Wednesday. I was bringing my father up for bypass surgery at Sequoia hospital. We arrived Thursday March 8th late in the afternoon after bouncing from doctors appointment to doctors appointment. We were greeted by 2 very friendly gentlemen. While one was checking us in, the other offered us 2 cold bottles of water and went over the hotels amenities and information on their free breakfast. On top of this, we needed help with some outside paperwork. They went above and beyond to help us. I really wish I had gotten every employees name that assisted us. Every time I came in and out, they genuinely asked how I was, if I needed anything, and offered me a cold bottle of water. It's little touches that go a long way. My dad was very concerned for my safety as I would be staying there by myself at night. I am 46 years old, but will always and forever be daddy's little girl. Upon check in my dad expressed his concern about my safety. They promised to take extra care of my safety and watch out for me coming and going. My father had surgery Friday March 9th. He passed away on Sunday. As per policy, the hotel could of held me to all 6 nights. I stayed Thursday and Friday night at the hotel. Saturday my father took a turn for the worse so I never left his side. All my belongings were still in the hotel room. When I went to check out, the gentleman on duty Sunday morning could have charged me for all or most of the nights. He only charged me for the 2 nights I physically stayed there. Sorry for the rambling and scattered post, but I cannot say enough good...

My daughter and I checked into the Best Western in Redwood City after a concert on October 6th. We were given room 201. We took our belongings up then I left to get us something to eat. When I returned about ten minutes later I found my daughter standing by the TV looking upset. She explained to me that upon laying down under the covers she found a bug on her. She described it as looking like a very small tick...she was describing a bed bug. We packed our stuff up and I called the front desk. The man at the front desk told me that there were no other rooms available (I wouldn't have stayed there anyways so that was fine) but to just leave the key cards in the room and he would inform management in the AM to refund my money. Well that never happened. I am now told that they are "investigating" the matter. I don't know why in the world they would think that I would go to the trouble of lying and leave 20 minutes after checking in to somehow scam them. I was exhausted from the concert all I wanted to do was sleep. I would highly recommend not patronizing this scummy hotel. I guess I am supposed to call the $114 a loss but I'm pissed. I can't tell you how many times I fell asleep trying to drive home that night. No unfortunately I'm not going to call my money a loss I want it back I want to refund or I'm going to stand in front of this motel with a big sign about their bed bug problem. I'm calling the County and reporting the bed bug infestation as well. I'm sick of places like this getting away with ripping people off. The name Best Western does not hold any thing good anymore. I expected better from what used to be a good...
