I had terrible service today at 7:05 a.m. It was not busy in the cafe at all. Very slow. I ordered my food and was waiting for a while. The amazing barista ( I don’t know his name but he’s a short black young man with a tan beanie on . He is always very prompt, love his good energy , and he gets drinks made not just fast but right in my observation as a regular ) . The issue was the girl who took my order took it wrong. The place cleared of the 2 maybe 3 other customers there. I felt that the three ladies working were too caught up in their conversation that they didn’t pay attention to how long I was standing there nobody asked me if I still needed help or was waiting on anything because I was clearly still waiting standing. I had to address them first and by then I was annoyed that not only was I not really paid attention to , but that my order was made wrong , and I had to get to work . With the slowness in the store and what I could see their mobile orders weren’t overwhelming I just don’t get how they were negligent like that . They were pretty well staffed with 4 , 5 , or more employees and it was slow soooo nobody but 1 the busy barista guy paid attention to my presence and did a good job and the rest didn’t . Even one saw me standing there and she didn’t say hey did you need something are you waiting on anything. I clearly did not look like I was there to dine in or sit. The staff needs to be reminded to check on their customers that are there . In food service and customer service you should always just check on your customers because they may need something or in my case waiting too long for an item that was made incorrectly and then my name wasn’t even called out when my wrong item was made . Wasting my time could have been avoided . Then when a customer asks to get a refund because they need to get to work because they wasted too much time already because of the employees just give them the refund . Obviously they need to leave and also their temper may be rising increasingly from being made upset. That would have helped me out instead of the employees all of a sudden paying attention and huddled up trying to figure out things. Pay attention and do a better job the first time and nobody would be in that position. Also don’t get a bad attitude with the upset customer when it was the staff’s fault . Blaming the customer is just wrong when the staff dropped the ball first. Nobody wants to deal with that at 6-7am just trying to get coffee and a bite to eat before work and we the customers spending our money with Starbucks is how the company employees are employed and get...
Read moreI like this place and only stop by when I am in the area. My usual and favorite drink is the Venti Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso. I visited this past weekend and mid week of last. When I stopped by on the 14th, my drink was made PERFECTLY. It was shaken up, it had the foam and the flavor. Lately I am finding a few Starbucks locations lacking on shaking the drink or forgetting the syrup. Disappointingly my most recent visit on Sunday lacked both, it wasn't shaken and it didn't have the brown sugar syrup added. I had already driven off and was in traffic on whipple when I realized this. I also remember waiting and the barista was very chatty with his co-worker so if that causes people to lose focus, please pause the chatter and if you are a barista and don't know how to make the drink ask your co-workers for assistance. Otherwise this location is great, great customer service but lets work on...
Read moreAfter having bad experience with the Starbucks in San Mateo on 4th Ave at the time when the Starbucks corporation trained the employee for better service (they served there in slow-motion. having endless conversation between them and moving in a snails tempo. No more than 3 people in the store. There was no reason for waiting so long I did. ) I changed to Peets and am happy there. But on Friday, June 22 on the way to my office, I stopped at the Starbucks on 490 El Camino in Redwood City I needed a coffee quick. It was such a difference to see the friendly faces, quick service. Why not everywhere same friendly and quick service? Here I will...
