This place must be under new management and he is not bringing me back there again. He turned New Years day into a nightmare for a friend and I. Rented here many times; always was good experience. On the first of Jan 2024 I rented thru another night thru Expedia, paid $88.10 on my phone thru Expedia. Had to deposit money in bank because this time Expedia didn't give the option to pay when u check in as they usually do. The dude at front desk said if I could have it paid by 12:00 noon that would be good. I walked to bank, deposited money, made reservation, and got back to front desk to check in. Being I hadn't gotten paid on the first as I should have been, I had $89.45 in account. The room was $88.10; left me with $1.35 to play with. The front desk dude took 3 deposits from me: first $35.00, second $25.00, third $25.00. None of the deposits have been returned to my account as of 3 Jan 2024. Because deposits weren't returned, I didn't have $50.00 deposit they now wanted to charge me for the one night @ $88.10. Manager said I had to pack up and leave in 15 mins. Said to call Expedia and have them arrange to go to different motel. I told Expedia to try Sequoia Inn. The said they had one king size bed for $4.00 more than the $88.10 that allowed us two queen sized beds. For some reason Expedia couldn't give us the discount I always get going thru them. I didn't even have $4.00 left and I find out I don't have access to the $88.10 I just paid out for room for that night. My roommate wasn't in room when I went up to pack. He just lost his phone two nights before and found it smashed in middle of Veteran's Blvd the next day, so I couldn't contact him with the update on no room and no money to get another room. Trust me when I say I tried to get something worked out before having contact with roommate: OMG I wish it was legal to smack someone! I had to pack up his tools, all his stuff, which is more than mine. The manager comes up stairs to room and is telling me to hurry up, I have 15 mins. I said, "my roommate is gone right now and I have to get his heavy tool bags out and all his stuff with nowhere to put it being he has the car." Now manager, I think his name was Daniel, or some other D name, says I have 10 mins. I told Mr D, "I just turned 64 years old, my kidneys are failing from uncontrolled high blood pressure, give me a break!" My condition was gift from County of San Mateo and their incompetent CPS, Public Defenders, and Judge Marta Diaz (now retired comfortably.) I had a pleasant sleep on cement storage floor that night on the 1st of Jan 2024, roommate stayed in car. I got to stay in car next night thou. Thank u Starbucks today the 3 of Jan 2024 @ 06:30 for the warmth and time of peace for the first time this...
Read moreI will never stay at this Good Nite Inn again. The management is cruel and has no compassion for victims of Domestic Violence. I was assaulted by my husband and I had to call 911. He stopped me from escaping the room He had ripped the phone out of the wall. Actually he only broke the cord but still he ripped the cord to stop me from calling. I had to be taken to the emergency room. I couldn't stand up on my own. I was knocked over in the chair I was sitting in. I had been hit in the head and face numerous times. And I ended up having contusions, to my face, neck and head. And a sprained clavicle. All my things were still at the hotel room, I had paid for seven additional nights,, We still had a night left on the reservation, but I had paid for those nights by myself because I was going to separate from my husband after that. The hotel calling the room regarding the new reservation is what started it. So when I got back to the hotel from the E.R. I'm told that I have to leave immediately. Never once did anyone at the hotel show any concern for what happened to me. They never once asked if I was okay. They saw EMT responders take me away. The police were also there and told them what happened The manager wanted me to leave immediately. I told him he would need to call the police back or let me just stay there for about an hour so that I could pack everything up and find somewhere else to go. I had a temporary restraining order from the police so my husband couldn't come back to the hotel, anyway. I no longer had any transportation The manager gave me 45 minutes. I was in excruciating pain trying to hurry up and pack up the room, and get a ride away from there as well as make arrangements for another hotel. I didnt have a bank card so I had to find a hotel nearby that would take cash then call my daughter who was out of state to call a lyft for me. When I went to the office, and the manager gave me back my money for the registration. I still had one more day left on the current reservation I was told by the manager that we can't have that kind of thing here that we don't want those kinds of things going on here and you brought that trouble here. You can't be here with that because we're running a business. That is your problem not ours. So basically, a woman getting assaulted in the hotel room is considered to be a nuisance, that she has caused. She is the problem, and just simply needs to be gotten rid of because she is now unwanted. That is how it was treated at this hotel. We had spent 1000s of dollars at this hotel. But when something happened to me. I was treated as if I was some trash that needed to be taken out right right away. They showed no compassion at all. I felt totally...
Read moreI was in Redwood City for work and stayed here most of the week except for the final night. It's pretty spartan so you're not getting much, but both rooms I stayed in were exceptionally clean and they didn't smell like cigarettes or any pungent attempts to cover up cigarette smoke meaning these rooms shouldn't be irritating to asthmatics.
The rooms exit out into a hallway that can only be accessed via your keycard, so that eliminates a big point of noise but you do hear people's room door slamming closed constantly. There's no breakfast service and no microwave (but you do get a small mini-refrigerator), so plan for that. One room had one of those awful little machines you put a pouch into and it spits out flavored water, but I probably wouldn't use it, and the second room I stayed in didn't have one at all. Fortunately, there are a lot of places around to have delivered, but the parking lot can get rowdy (this isn't uncommon for the area, it seems). Vending machines are also located within the halls, though, so at the very least, you don't need to go out into the parking lot to access them, though, I didn't see exactly what they had, I only noticed a snack machine.
TV is just basic, there's no movie stations. It's probably going to be what you'll see in every budget hotel in the area. I recommend trying to get a room on the second floor just to eliminate any possible noise from other people, though, to be fair, the only noise from other guests I heard both on the first and second floors were the shutting doors, but your mileage may vary. You're next to a freeway, but if you've lived near one before, it's nothing you can't deal with.
Overall, I enjoyed my time here more than I thought I would and it wound up being the much better experience of the two hotels I stayed at. Despite the rowdy at times parking lot, it felt pretty safe because you can't access any of the rooms without first getting into the hallway via a keycard. If I could make a suggestion, it would just be an option to have a microwave in your room. Or hot coffee vending machines (ETA: there is coffee in the office). Otherwise, they excel where it counts in this case, which is cleanliness and I'll probably be staying here again next time just because I know it's clean, very affordable for the area, not going to irritate my asthma, and I know exactly what to expect.
ETA: Internet access was intermittent, so I didn't even bother after a point. It may have to do with your room location in the hotel. Data access (5G, LTE, etc) via my phone was iffy at busy...
