Had high hopes,but....just kinda sucks...those eggs ate clearly scrambled, not over medium. The breakfast gravy has freaking mushrooms in it. (Not that there's anything wrong with people liking mushroom gravy, it's just that that needed to be stated in the online order form/menu somewhere, when you have an option to add gravy to your breakfast and it just says "gravy" Everyone is going to assume you mean white sausage gravy certainly without mushrooms or possibly brown beef gravy, but once again, certainly without mushrooms unless stated, mushrooms have an extreme flavor and odor and a bizarre texture that like half of people are not gonna want period.) I asked them if there was butter in my bag ,they said yes but no,alas, no butter, which I needed very liberal amounts of to coat my toast, not the tiny amount they put on there, and I need a ton for the potatoes in my hash, so now I can't put the gravy on it either....so very not sauce for my hash of any sort. And it was all pretty cold even though i got there like 2 minutes after the online ordering systems said was the earliest it could possibly be ready by.foods like toast are edible for maybe maybe 4-6 minutes out of the toaster and even that is pushing it. The biscuit and gravy better not have mushrooms too or I am sad for anyone that ordered it if it does.. ...like really sad...biscuits and gravy are Serious business.......at least fix the online ordering system sp people can choose no mushrooms gravy.... Don't get me wrong, the food quality was there, good even, but the implementation was lacking...ok ,that's enough of this old man yelling at squirrels and the clouds to no avail...
Read moreI wanted to give 3 stars but I just couldn’t. I’ll start from the beginning. I had booked a room nearby at the Best Western but my room wasn’t ready so I figured a sit down meal would be better than waiting in the parking lot. Upon entering Stacks I was greeted with “Can I help you?” Which is unusual to hear in a restaurant. Usually I am asked “how many?” Or something along those lines. I replied with “I would like some breakfast.” And was promptly seated. I already looked at the menu online and ordered my meal once I was sat. The California Benedict, add bacon. My meal was delivered extremely quickly, doesn’t take long to toast some English muffins (under toasted though), poach two eggs, and plate the remaining items. The bearnaise smelled of tarragon and got my hopes up. One of my favorite sauces. Then disappointment hit, hard. Cinnamon. All I could taste was cinnamon. I don’t know if it was a mistake or what but not what I expected from a savory bearnaise that is supposed to taste richly of butter, shallots, and tarragon. The hash browns were standard, not bad not great. I revived my check and used the option to scan the code on the receipt to pay by smartphone. I got the confirmation the payment was successful and got up to leave. When leaving an employee glanced at me, then my table, which I had not left any cash on, then back at me suspiciously which I found unnerving and uncomfortable. I guess maybe they shouldn’t offer digital pay options if they send accusatory glares in the direction of paying customers. My...
