We'll, they used to be more expensive, but that was before everyone's future took an alternate route, due to the pendemic. It's nice of them to "only" charge $66,- Dollars, plus applicable tax that is. The room was clean, a bit small but that's not a discouraging reason, just something I've observed! The TV and remote function just fine, and so do all other appliances, that come with this "Dream Works"... Refrigerator and it's little freezer also meet my expectations, and I do love that "shnazy" new, ( but super loud) microwave with all its lit up buttons, that I nearly needed to read the instructions. I just wanted to cook my TV Dinner, not launch a campagne or take an online test for the DMV. But all jokes aside, the bathroom needs a little bit attention perhaps. The shower knob was a bit hard to adjust, and the water never really got very hot/warm. But this could be due to other guests having taken a shower as well. Good enough for the 10 minutes I remained under water. The towels are worn down and reflect years of usage. The stains on many of those "handkerchiefs" told the tales. I guess bleach found its ultimate obstacle and was ravaged and defeated. The blow-dryer had just one setting, but this factor also, wasn't devastating to my existence. The heater/air conditioner worked perfectly fine, and quiet, which I do find a "must" when spending the night at a Hotel/Motel. The owner was as "official" as can be. Not rude nor spewing with charm bubbles. This is also "just fine". Our night there was successfully accomplished in getting at least 5 hours of sleep. Did I mention it's non-smoking? A plus! Would I stay there again? Sure, why not? As long as the prices stay low! But I will bring my own towel(s) and washrag with me! 3 stars out of 5. (Actually 2 1/2 stars, but this doesn't seem to...
Read moreReally rude and shady service. Read other one star review. They are very helpful. I suspect this small inn deliberately uses strict name-matching policies to keep payments while denying rooms to guests. The owner/operator refused my check-in despite clear evidence the reservation was mine, including confirmation details and matching phone number.
This is a small, independently-owned property where the owner has full discretion over policies - not a large hotel chain bound by corporate rules. Yet she rigidly refused reasonable solutions like adding my legal name to the reservation or allowing the check-in with proper identification.
What makes this particularly suspicious is her refusal to either accommodate me OR cancel the booking. The inflexibility seemed calculated to keep my non-refundable payment while potentially reselling the room to another guest.
Only after an hour-long call with the booking platform applying pressure did she agree to cancel. This suggests she was perfectly capable of being flexible when forced to be.
Warning to travelers: This appears to be a deliberate tactic to double-dip on room revenue. Book elsewhere, or if you must stay here, ensure your reservation name matches your ID character-for-character. Even minor discrepancies like nicknames may be used as pretexts to keep your money while...
Read moreThere were stains on the furniture. Mold and dust on the fixtures. Hair and dirt on the bed. The curtains were so old they were bleached from the sun. The room had a disgusting mold and mildew smell and the sink had stains. I could go on and on. I packed my things within ten minutes and went back to the counter and said I could not stay there. The owner said he sees nothing wrong with the room, yet refused to look at more than one of the photos. I asked for a refund and he said no so I left. Since I paid through the booking app, they disputed it for me. The owner said I was there for over two hours and I couldn’t get a refund. Then they denied me ever showing up. It took several weeks to get a refund because they kept making excuses. They even went as far as posting on my booking account that I never showed up, just so the review would disappear. Not only was the room unsanitary and disgusting, but the train tracks are next door and so are houses or buildings with people throwing parties. I did NOT feel safe here. I had to go to Stanford for a doctor’s appointment and this was a horrible experience. Once again, I would not recommend...
