Worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced. I’ll start with finding someone else’s hand warmers at the foot of my bed when I crawled in for the night which leaves to assume my bed was never changed and that in itself is completely unacceptable. We also found a disposable eye lubricant dropper beside the bed and some orange seeds on our window sill. On one evening at 1145pm the fire alarms went off for a good 10-15 minutes and all the guests evacuated to the lobby and were told IF the alarms went off again a refund would be issued... we all returned to our rooms (me with my crying and now very awake 3 month old) and went back to sleep only to be woken again at 1am to the alarms. Eventually the alarms were silenced meaning if a real fire were to have occurred no alarms would have gone off. No refunds were issued to guests for this incident. While showering the tub filled half way up my calf by the time I was finished and didn’t drain overnight. I asked the front desk if maintenance could fix it and she said there is no maintenance in on Saturday but housekeeping was in at 9. I had to leave the hotel by 10 so asked if there was another room I could use to shower and she said I could check out and leave my stuff in the hall and maybe check into a new room at 4..... I took my own personal tweezers and dug out the drain so I could shower. Gross. The pool was not in service and had apparently been broken the weekend before but our group of 18 players + families were never informed and it was the reason we booked here as a group with a lacrosse team of 18 kids. We asked if we could use an amenities room to keep our kids occupied without disrupting the other guests and they offered us the room for $400.... Had we known the pool wasn’t working and been informed we would have cancelled and booked elsewhere. Their machine would not accept my debit or MasterCard so I offered cash which they refused and they also refused processing my husbands card because he was not present and they could not process by phone for security reasons. I think that sums up my stay.... we will never...
Read moreI stay in a Hilton 42 weeks out of the year and I'm a very loyal regular customer. However the supervisor at this location needs some customer service skills. I live right next door and I'm trying to arrange a special rate for my 75-year-old father-in-law who was just diagnosed with stage 3 cancer is trying to spend some time with us before he leaves us. The moment I started talking to the supervisor it was a conversation falling on deaf ears and nothing but dead air. All I tried to do was negotiate a special rate for my father-in-law who has very little time left and we have no room for him in our one bedroom apartment next door. Driving up from Portland to spend time with the grandchildren and there's not enough room in our apartment. I negotiate rates all the time for my business even if the hotel is advertising $360 online I always get a corporate rate around $159 to $179. It is very normal for this conversation to happen with me at all times during business travels. However this Hampton Inn location in Renton has proven to me to be incompetent and has no clue how to create gross profits on a Sunday night as if they're going to be 100% full. The most expensive room is the "empty room" and the lady had the audacity to quote me $303 as a discount. All she did is keep staring at her stupid computer as it was the holy Grail on local rates....!!!. I left furious. I will very likely never recommend to my coworkers to stay at this location even though it's the most convenient location for business trips. I will tell them to stay next door at the Marriott or at the Hilton Garden Inn near IKEA. Awful customer service skills at this location. UPDATE... 3 DAYS LATER. I walked over to the Hyatt regency right on the lake, I had a wonderful conversation with the desk counter representative her name is "Sity", I told her the situation and she was more than happy to accommodate my father-in-law at a rate of $240 and after taxes the total bill came to $286. How simple...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at the Hampton Inn the night before we were to leave for flight out of SEA. The front desk was very kind to us, answered all our questions we had about breakfast times and parking. The lobby is very nice, with ample seating for lounging and eating breakfast. They also have a shuttle bus that can take you down to The Landing where there are plenty of shops and restaurants. Jimmy Johns is there so we decided to have that delivered to our room.
I made the mistake of not listening thoroughly when the front desk person told us about the room key and lights. When you walk in your room there is a port to the left of the door where you plug in your room key which activates the lights. I missed this important step as I was desperate to use the bathroom and had to do this in the dark. When my husband returned after parking our car, he showed me what to do with the room key, and to my delight, the lights turned on! Kinda handy I think, at least you have less of a chance of losing your room key while in your room.
I liked the layout of the room as its different from most hotels I've stayed in. I couldn't get the fan in the bathroom to turn off after my shower. Mind you, I didn't call down to the front desk to ask either. The room came with a lap top desk plus a regular desk and a chaise lounge. My only real complaint was the bed, it wasn't comfortable, at least for me. My husband slept fine outside of my tossing and turning.
The front desk people were awesome, they let me keep my luggage in their luggage hold while I had to leave after checking out. Super sweet and friendly. Breakfast was good. The front desk girl showed me how to use the coffee dispenser. We had no problems at all checking out. All in all, our stay was very...
