For a conveyor belt place, the price is more expensive compared to Kura. However, the portions are noticeably bigger and they have a different selection/flavors. If you know what you want and will just be getting a few choice plates, it's perfect. However, if you come to conveyor belt sushi places to get a taste of different rolls, the portions are too big and will fill you up almost immediately before you get to try out much. The seared salmon plates are average. The rolls plates have 4 pieces each and are almost half a regular roll at a regular sushi place, so $5.55 and $6.25 are not bad for that. I tried the samurai roll and garlic salmon; they're very tasty but the "seared" wasn't done well since the charred-ness of the roll got into flavor. Don't bother with the spam plates. There's an Uwajimaya next door where you can get an entire spam musubi for $3.49 so it's not worth it at all. The spam nigiri plates have a very thin slice of spam and barely any rice, and the spam roll has a giant thing of tamago and an edamame size piece of spam...unsure why it's call spam roll when it looks more like tamago roll. My only other complaint is that it doesn't label what are actually in the rolls, so I will not be inviting my friends with food allergies here. There is nothing in the main pricing/information sheet that at least says "so and so roll topped with this and that". I had to squint at the rolls as they go by and then just grab them once they come by again because I didn't want to get ill. 4/5 very delicious and the price matches the amount of food per plate. It's just not my thing because I go to conveyor belt places to taste different things. I usually average 8 plates but here I barely got to 4 before I was completely full, so I was a little sad at that.

Eating here was a gross waste of my time and money. The selection is basic despite the mass amount of possible combinations they have under their noses. The atmosphere is clinical which would be fine if I was going in for surgery not for a meal. The solid plastic chairs creak under you as if threatening to give way any second, making my dining experience more anxious than anything. After trying a few pieces the only dish that had ANY sense of creativity and taste was the Garlic Shrimp. I WAS prepared to give a nice 3 star review until I ordered a Dynamite roll. Thats when I got THIS abomination. This was supposed to be spicy lobster. Instead I got shredded, soggy, disgustingly unedible artificial crab icecream scooped onto 4 very tiny california rolls that werent bigger than a quarter. After nearly gagging on the lukewarm drippy ball of fake crab I had to deal with the fact that I spent 5.15 on a dish that they charge 3.75 for normally AND for less of that dish. I will NEVER return here until they get some REAL sushi chefs in here and fix this.

Update: This location is still top-tier! The employees are very focused on catching orders and turning tables. They ask you if you'd like a bar chair or a booth, and they seat you as promptly as they can. Once seated, they get you a drink and ask if you'd like to order anything - this simple gesture was monumental and is the reason why this location has repeat customers. My family and I literally go out of our way to come to this kaiten-sushi location. Older: The price is slightly higher than SushiLand's plates, but it's well worth the visit simply because you don't have to wait for a seat - or at least not that I've encountered in about a dozen visits. The place is well lit and well staffed, though at the back booths you are unable to see how much each plate is, since it's posted on the center pillar and not the back wall. As for the location, it's set up well because after you eat you can go to Uwajimaya's and shop at one of Seattle's more authentic Asian grocery markets.

No sushi on the belt and incomprehensibly slow service lately. I've been grabbing dinner here on a weekly basis for quite a while, and until recently it's been a good middle of the road place to get in quick, grab some decent sushi, and get out. I don't know what's been going on for the last several weeks, but the last few times I've stopped in there's been almost no sushi on the belt. What's the point of conveyor belt sushi when they can't even keep the nigiri basics on the belt? In fact, the last two times I've stopped by, I've just turned around and walked out because the belt was nearly empty both times. Might as well just go to a sushi joint where everything is made to order at that point. It'll be quicker and higher quality than going here.

There always appears to be adequate service staff working when I've been there at night, so I'm perplexed as to why service has been so terrible lately. The staff all look busy but they're not regularly checking in with the guests or refilling drinks, so I'm not sure what they're actually doing besides walking around in circles. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt and every restaurant has a bad night every now and then, but this has been pretty consistently bad for a while. 3 strikes and I'm out!....for now at least. I might give them a few months for them to get their act together and give them another chance, but if the convenience factor and fish aren't there, it's not worth...

Upping my review from a 3 to a 5. This place is suddenly good??? Like really good???? Especially if you get here early/for lunch when everything is fresh.

It's by far the best conveyer belt sushi around, at least. The sheer variety of options and amount of food given has been very impressive the last few times I've come in. The belt has always been full!

In terms of the best stuff: the spicy salmon bomb? A+ seared salmon? A+ seared albacore? A+ depending on your luck the eel dishes have a lot of meat on them! saba? Hell yeah the free green tea? Extremely underrated. Made with actual matcha powder!! Would be nice if they had a metal container, the current plastic-topped ones are pretty beat up (lol microplastics)

Now let's talk about the cheap Salmon Bits. An entire bowl of fried salmon for like $3? Is it a trap? Will you die?

Maybe.

But early in the day, they're warm and freshly made! And really good! If they're cold and have been on the line for a while? Ehhhhhhh. But I'll get them anyway. The value is simply too strong.

But yeah, the speed, value, quality, and variety of Genki these days has blown my mind and I've been eating here for years. It might unironically be my favorite sushi spot in Renton. Aji Mori is obviously better for a fancy date, but as an everyday stop-and-hais-3-plates spot? Genki...
