I had seen ads, for awhile, through 'OfferUp'. Today, I finally decided to give 'The Phone Guys', a shot.
We're all looking for reliable options for phone purchasing. So, I can, at the very least; share my experience and hope it helps some folks out there.
Well, I was fortunate enough to have been helped by Vic, who was super knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive. Henry was also at the desk, and it was a relief that he had also volunteered to help.
SIDENOTE:
I'm sure we've all come into one of these phone stores, and experienced a less than welcoming visit; where the associate 'customer service rep' present, would be completely detached. Entertaining themselves by having side conversations, or being completely buried in some non-work related activity, like browsing the web, or killing their boredom, in the most random way; pretty much ignoring what must be, yet anooother customer... who ultimately treats you, as an annoyance, if not an outright non-entity, rather than... I dunno... helping you... It happens... we're all human... and I realize some work days and customer interactions can range from being tedious, to outright nightmarish... but, having stated that... that won't help the people buying with their purchase... So...
FORTUNATELY(!), during this visit, both techs were helpful and engaged! Helping one another AND the customer.
Vic helped in every way possible, from educating about the device I was interested in, to payment options, to bundling my purchase with accessories. Fully engaged in all the technical details of the purchase with absolute focus. Providing information and going through all the steps required to assist and complete the transaction.
Henry was on hand to volunteer in providing supplemental information, aswell as installation for additional accessories.
It is refreshing(!!) to have customer service reps working to help you with your needs.
I can also say, that both of them stayed past closing time and even volunteered to keep my newly purchased smoothies, from 'Oasis' (bought from inside 'Uwajimaya' across the parking lot) refrigerated, while we all seemingly worked together to complete the purchase, in one visit.
So, Thank You(!!!) 'The Phone Guys' of Renton, for making my purchase smooth, educational, and most importantly complete! Going above and beyond, to complete the transaction in one visit, was an absolute relief!
Hopefully, everyone's visit will be as...

I needed a phone for my business that my current phone was cracked badly so I dealt with Luis, Told him everything I needed in a phone (Fast, biggest screen I can get, low price) He showed me 3 phones and one of them was pink, I instantly said not this one. Last 2 was a Samsung s8 and a Samsung A11. The Samsung s8 had mega scratches on the screen so I went with the Samsung A11. I got home and found out it was a 4G phone. Why didn't Luis tell me I told him I needed a fast phone. I showed up and dealt with a lady told her what happened and she still charged me a 20% restocking fee. I told her I need a FAST phone 5G phone she sold me a Samsung S20 (unlocked) She said I would have to activate it at a MetroPCS dealer. I drove there and had them activate the phone. I was late for work they showed me that the phone dials and accepts incoming calls. So I left and went to work (Late) Using this new phone now and comes to find out the internet didn't work. I couldn't do my work so my boss said go home I cover you. I spent 3 to 4 hours talking to MetroPCS and still internet didn't work. I looked at my receipt and it showed they open at 9am. I drove back there and spoke to the same lady as before, she asked to see my phone. I gave it to her and the internet started working. I told her I need this to work it's affecting my work/business. She said well its working now. So I said OK I give it another try. Later that day I was working and had to pickup special medical medicine for a patient that was coming from Germany. I got to the airport and once again the internet wasn't working. I told my client I am continuing to have problems with my phone and he had another driver bring my paperwork to me. After I completed the job (Late) I drove again back to The Phone Guy's and dealt with the same lady for a 3rd time. I told her this phone made me lose 3 days of work, and returning to the store 4x that I am just gonna go to MetroPCS and buy a new phone. She had the nerve to charge me another 20% restocking fee on a phone that doesn't work. What business does that?!?!?! I will never go there again and I will be disputing all charges from that business! I won't Eben bring up the 2 activation fees I...
Read moreTHEY SOLD ME A MACBOOK PRO WITH LIQUID DAMAGE.
I have gotten a couple of items from the âphone guysâ I got a brand new laptop and a iPad that same day. Which made me get my third MacBook Pro which was used. That same day I just set up my iCloud and noticed some letters on the keyboard sticky or not clicking correctly. Which made me think something was wrong with it. So once I was done putting my iCloud on that same day I bought it I put it back on the box so I can get it seen/fixed by them. Took it in and they kept it for two days I was told it was ready and to pick it up. So I did and once I got it, it wasnât fixed so I asked why and they just said my âwarranty was voidâ they never explained why and were rude and just said we wonât fix it and your warranty is void without explaining why. I was upset because they accused me of dropping liquid on it and also accused my kids of dropping it if it wasnât me that did. Got the MacBook as is and i noticed that same day the problem took it back and said there was liquid on it which looked like sugar. I mentioned to them thatâs how it was sold and they denied and said they check all the items before selling it. If I didnât do it and they didnât either then who did? What is more crazy is I paid 1,320 and just to think I will drop something on it is just insane. âTHAT SAME DAY I PURCHASED ITâ I would never drop something on it that same day.
They void my warranty Blamed my kids/myself from the liquid Rude 4.never fixed it
I came back because like I mentioned I got two items before so thought on getting my third one. Im going to think about it twice before going back. Whatâs more upsetting is I paid 1,320 for it and they want more to fix it when I had my warranty. I would NEVER drop liquid on a purchase of 1,320 that SAME day.
Upsetting just...
