Update January 2025: We decided to give this location another try hoping we caught them on an off night in December.
3/4 pillows were fine this time (the 4th once again was disgustingly yellow). There were many tiny stains on each of the bed layers, and we rotated one of them so the stains wouldn't be by our faces (we rotated it all the way around and had to settle for minimal stains instead).
So once again, they really need to consider stronger detergent/bleach occasionally, because it really reflects badly on the cleanliness factor.
This time, I found dozens of small (less than 1") hairs/fur all over the bedding.
Rest of stay was fine.
December 2024: We've stayed here several times and unfortunately this time wasn't great.
The biggest issue was that it appears they need a stronger laundry detergent, because every single pillow we had was stained yellow from sweat. Out of 4 pillows, 4 inner zippered pillowcases, and 4 outer pillowcases, 1 single outer pillowcase was unstained. The bottom fitted sheet also had a yellow stain on one side.
We asked the front desk if we could get replacement pillows, and she checked and said there were none. No spare pillows in an entire hotel?! That seemed very suspicious. What if one ripped in a room? Would they just give 3 to the next people? What if someone stole all 4 pillows, would the next people not get any? You see what I'm saying.. if nothing else, she could have taken from one of the empty rooms - I'm almost positive the hotel wasn't fully booked.
Anyway, she offered 4 pillowcases - the zippered inner ones for the bedbug protection. We brought them back to the room for inspection - all were stained again, this time a few stains almost looked like coffee - not subtle. I took a picture but the lighting made it look less obvious, but I'll attach it anyway. The lights were all very dim, maybe 40 watt, which made us wonder if it wasn't just to create a sleepy environment..
Luckily, we each brought a pillow for our end destination, which we prefer not to have to unpack because they're tightly squished for travel. At least we had something!
The King bed was very bouncy! I had been feeling a little nauseated, so I noticed any time I moved, it was like being on a water bed! It had been so long since sleeping on a spring mattress, I thought everyone had switched to foam and pillowtop types.
The Best Western (not Plus!) we stayed in the night before had a better bed and totally clean bedding).
That was the worst part, but honestly, if you can't get the bed right in a hotel with 5 diamond awards, why are you getting 5 diamond awards?
Now to the pros: The breakfast was very good. I love pancake machines, and they had a hot syrup dispenser which was nice. The eggs were pretty wet but alright, the bacon super thin and crispy (my favourite!). They offered honey which is always appreciated for my coffee, yogurts, breads and muffins. They had a Keurig machine with multiple kinds of coffees including decaf, also hot chocolate and hot apple cider Keurig options. You can also get your coffee as a latte or other options with your pod, including iced which I'd never seen before.
The eating area is small and was busy when we went, but there's a nice little eating area outside that you might miss if you didn't notice the door in the back. It's close to a bunch of trees/forest so we got to enjoy our breakfast with some woodpeckers who were enjoying theirs.
The front desk lady in the morning was very nice and helpful. The front reception area was nicely decorated for Christmas. Oh, and they had fresh Snickerdoodle cookies when we arrived which was a nice bonus.
Overall, once we'd given up on clean bedding, it was a good stay. I just can't in good conscience give it above 3 stars because it's such an integral part of a good hotel stay, and it wasn't just one or two mishaps (which we understand). Also not having pillows to replace with (or not being willing to replace them, whichever the case may be) is really unacceptable for a hotel where sleeping is the...
Read moreThis Best Western Plus is very well run, clean, and pet AND kid friendly! We don't have any pets traveling with us but we met quite a few at check in and they were so sweet. We had been traveling all day when we finally arrived after an ambitious day of driving from Miami (we had a later start than usual bc of travels). The hotel was conveniently located right off of I-95 and there were quite a few of food options available nearby.
POOL: My kids were wired and ready to get out some energy so we went directly to the pool. I specifically searched four a hotel with an indoor pool for this reason. It was small but it was perfect for my 3 kids. There was a jacuzzi too and the pool was warm.
FITNESS ROOM: I hit the gym to blow off some steam after being in the car with my kids all day. The gym was slightly better than other hotel gyms I've been to - it looked like it was regularly cleaned and there were water and towels available. The weight machine was one of those multi purpose weight machines which are nice but I find take too much time to figure out if you want to do specific exercises...I wish more hotels would offer free weights. There was a treadmill, an elliptical, and a stationary bike. They were all very old but they worked for what I needed to do. Be careful on the treadmill though, it stops on a dime instead of progressively getting slower like the newer ones.
ROOM: Our room was very clean. The only comment I have is that the drywall in the bathroom around the shower had, at some point, had a mold problem. I saw signs around that they were remodeling, so I assume that would be fixed. We specifically asked for 2 queen size beds and were accommodated. There was a mini fridge and complimentary coffee. The toiletries were nicer than the standard hotel toiletries.
FOOD: The complimentary breakfast was ok. I thought the scrambled eggs were salty and biscuits were dry, but there were hard boiled eggs that were fine and the coffee was actually very good. There were a lot of options that I did not try but looked good: sausage, potatoes, oatmeal with toppings, pancakes, yogurt, cereal...When we arrived, they had a happy hour snack thing going on and had nachos and cookies. I didn't try them, but I thought that was a nice gesture and if I hadn't had to figure out dinner for 5, I might have scarfed some down and called it a night. We ended up ordering pizza from a place called Papa's Pizza, which was advertised in the room. They had an online platform for ordering and the food was good. I ordered a salad which was fantastic and their pizza and chicken wings were good too.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: I can't remember the name of the woman who was at the front desk when we got in but she was very kind, polite and efficient. She did a great job attending to the guests quickly and politely.
Overall, I have to say we had a good experience at this hotel. They were welcoming and had the amenities we were looking...

Short review: Very clean, great staff, one of the best places I’ve stayed for the price range! Would give 100 stars if I could
Full Version:
Check in/out: I wasn’t originally planning to stop here on my road trip, but had to pull over and find a hotel as I wasn’t feeling well. This Best Western popped up as the lowest priced place with good reviews nearby, so I headed on over. I was very pleased that price at the front desk was the same as the price online. Checking in was easy and the room was super clean! Check out time being noon was great too!
Staff: The front desk person overnight was great! She was able to bring up some extra housekeeping items to my room that I needed and couldn’t go get since I was sick. I also did an Instacart order and appreciated that they were allowed to bring it up to the room for me.
The Room: Even being across from the ice machine and near the elevator, I didn’t have any problem with noise. Also, the individual air unit in the room ran quietly compared to many other places I’ve stayed, and was super clean! I’ve had problems with dust allergies from dirty air units in other places so this was super appreciated!
In addition to being super clean, the room also had: a TV, mini fridge w freezer section, microwave, desk, coffee machine and ice bucket, alarm clock, phone, a bench perfect for putting a suitcase, a chair with a footrest, and a full length mirror. All the lamps also had an outlet, and one bedside table had an extra outlet station with 3 plugs and two USB plugs.
The bathroom had a shower/bath combo, and the citrus scented products smelled great! Great water pressure and temperature range as well.
Food + More: There’s no restaurant on site, but there were some free cookies in the evening and a small selection of convenience items and snacks for sale in the lobby. A lot of food places in walking distance though! Breakfast was from 6-9 and had the usual selection of scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, juice and coffee, and pastries. Nothing fancy but free and filling.
I also appreciated some of the thoughtful touches in the hotel. In the elevator, there was a list of the amenities such as the times for cookies and breakfast, pool hours, etc. In the lobby, there was a list of nearby restaurants which was great! The bedside table also had a booklet of nearby restaurants by cuisine.
Overall, I was greatly impressed by this location. Everywhere else should be taking notes from them! I didn’t originally plan to stop here but now that I know how fantastic this place is, I will likely plan to stop here on future...
