We stayed at this property for 2 nights, taking shelter from storms across the area, during a camping stay at the KOA nearby.
I travel with my 18 year old daughter, who has disabilities, and our Golden Retriever. The things that are important to us are affordability, pet friendliness, safety and accessibility including parking right at our door, a nice bath tub, good Wifi, and mini-fridge/microwave in the room. We found all of these at this property, in a convenient location for our needs.
The property seems to be undergoing renovations. Parts of it seemed freshly re-done and other parts appeared neglected. When entering our room, it appeared that we had one of the newly renovated ones... nice, new bedspreads; pleasant decor, nice appliances. However, the bathroom was not as nice looking - plaster peeling off the ceiling, stopper missing from the bath tub...
The room was quiet, and the beds were comfortable. We never sleep in the covers in hotel/motel rooms. We use our own linens on top of the beds. We slept great.
We encountered a couple of minor issues. When I called to report that our bath tub had no stopper (when a primary reason for checking in was so that my daughter could have a bubble bath after tent camping), I was told to put a washcloth in the drain. It was only after I voiced my disapproval of this suggestion that someone brought a rubber stopper for us to use. Similarly, when I called to report that the remote control for our TV was not working and to request another remote control or new batteries, I was told that they had neither. They advertise continental breakfast from 8:00-9:00 (oddly restrictive hours); however when I went to the lobby to grab something, I found only coffee and juices, no food.
We would stay here again if traveling, with the understanding that it is not a 5 star hotel and that we might encounter some issues/inconveniences. Overall, it was a good experience, despite...
Read morePLEASE STAY ELSEWHERE AND NEVER SUPPORT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR FROM BUSINESS OWNERS. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS IS TO JUST STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE IT MIGHT BE A FEW DOLLARS MORE BUT YOUR LIFE IS WORTH IT. Was on the phone with my sister when she was verbally assaulted and almost forcibly evicted by the manager who refused to provide his name over 8$. She didn't ask for the discount to be clear and staying here wasn't her choice as this was the lodging provided to her by her company and she needed longer than her company would provide so she paid out of pocket. If you are ever in the area as a frequent traveler myself I would spend the extra 20$ to stay at the holiday in express or somewhere more dedicated to service rather than cost as the experience is generally much better. That being said apparently this hotel also acts as an unregistered brothel as my sister was propositioned by several people offering their "services" definitely if you have a family be warned. Go get your "complimentary" breakfast and clean sheets for 20$ more. Furthermore she was already complaining of the hallways smelling of urine and feces and there was mildew and mold in her shower. The pool is not functional although in my experience it rarely is in any hotel. And so we are clear apparently at any moment you are at risk of angering the management and them removing you from the room because never have I EVER had such an encounter at a hotel like the one I experienced on the phone with my sister. He was BEATING ON THE DOOR SO HARD THE LOCK WAS BOUNCING AND I COULD HEAR IT THROUGH THE PHONE. I encouraged my sister to request a full refund and stay elsewhere for the day but as a truck driver she was tired and just wanted to stay out for a few more hours until...
Read moreNOT a good experience! Not the worst hotel experience I've had in my lifetime, but definitely not a good experience. We had booked a nonrefundable room so we were stuck. We booked the hotel for the price and because it had free breakfast. When we arrived, we were told they did NOT have breakfast due to a "kitchen issue" and no, there would be no discount for that. It is clear that is a lie because you can still have a waffle maker, toast, fruit, cereal, etc. with no kitchen. They are simply lying on the postings to draw people in. They said there was coffee and juice in the morning. It was late and we were tired so we went to the room. When we opened the door, the room looked nice and clean, but on the next second, the smell hit us. It smelled VERY mildewy/moldy and the air was not on at all. We cranked down the air in hopes of cleaning it out some. The coverlets were a bit stained but HAD been washed and the bedding looked clean. After we laid down, we could see mold along the ceiling, so it wasn't just a damp smell. We had a 2-bedded room for 4 adults...the room ONLY had 1 towel, 1 hand towel, 1 washcloth. Also no tissues. In the morning, we noticed the toilet was leaking and there was a puddle on the floor. We went tocheck-out and get coffee/juice...the regular coffee was good, but there was no decaffeinated (for my dad) and no actual cream/milk, only powdered cream. The juice was watery but not terrible. When asked about the decaf, he said "oh, that's out and hasn't been replaced, we don't have it"...no care at all about it and no real sorry either. The room did LOOK nice, the sheets were clean, the bed was comfortable. The refrigerator worked and the...
