Holiday Inn Rocky Mount - I-95 at US 64, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Rocky Mount

I arrived on a Friday evening, unexpectedly as I was traveling to Leland, NC. We got tired earlier and wanted to stop and I made arrangements in Rocky Mount 2 hours before our destination, The arrangements were made over the phone and I did not do it through the computer due to the fact it was so late, I wanted to make sure they had room at the hotel. So I lost points in doing this which the front desk gentleman told us. Now since the hotel was booked, I also had an increased rate. Which I didn't realize. All in all, it was what it was. What my issue was, upon arrival on my floor, people cooking hamburgers in their rooms and the smell wasn't pleasant. On top of that, they were up until 3 am partying next door to us. I never called to complain, I just felt that they would eventually stop, It really never did. In the future I'll rethink that. Not any issue with the staff, they were kind and courteous. The room was clean and updated, we checked out very early the next morning aroudn 5:30. On our return home I decided to give Rocky Mount a second chance due to the fact it was super clean and very neat. No issues in the evening so that was great, but, when we came down for breakfast, we didn't realize we had to pay for it, which was fine, however, the food was truly an issue. We barely received any eggs and the potatoes were so overseasoned I drank 2 full glasses of water due to the amount of salt. I never finished any of the breakfast besides the eggs. My husband got a breakfast bowl and literally had barely any eggs or other indgredients but it had a lot of the home fried potatoes full of salt. He couldn't eat it. The nice woman who waited on us, gave us bare minimum of sugar and cream or we consistently had to wait for our utensils or just overall anything we needed, extra napkins. I expected more overall since I was now paying $30 plus tip for a breakfast and received not $30 of edible food. I'm highly dissappointed and have never written a review like this because the people who work there and serve and wait on me are kind people, considerate, but need to learn delivery and preparation. I can say there were only 4 of us that were in that dining room that morning and upon us leaving we could see all of us left those potatoes on our plates. I have stayed here for business and work every time I like to get away with wife the staff is ok but definitely need a new manager and need to teach people to stop double charging the cards every time they charge my car 30 days or more to get back and this time I stayed Was very Bad again, not care about the customers we repeatedly told him and the other staff that there was glass on the floor and we cut our feet and my daughter cut her knee we showed them the glass we took pictures we were nice enough to say we were ok staying that night but please change rooms next day and still they didn’t help are change rooms I am a diamond member with IHG and I was not treated well I don’t understand why pay all this money to IHG If you’re still going to be treated bad and there is Nothing they can do to help situation it takes a lot to become members I would recommend this hotel if you don’t care to eat at the motel because the food is not great The rooms are great. We loved the rooms out of maybe 40+ days we have stay there. It was great Rooms besides This last Stay, two nights treated bad because we wanted to switch room because of glass on the floor. I cut my foot and my wife cut her foot. My daughter cut her knee and it kept happening every time we get up.with no shoes then they were told to not stay there because we called IGH on them Delaney told me on the phone Mr. James said not to come back. You are not allowed to stay anymore. Why because you didn’t do your job because you didn’t care for your customers and I’ll IGH know don’t think this is great. Business, it would be different if we were bad customers one time customers, but we are diamond members and return customers not once or twice but multiple times and he calls me and threatens me on the phone hostile voice and attitude anyway, I say all the other staff is great…. I wouldn’t recommend staying there until day. Got a better manager. Learn to work with customers way better!!!!!!! I wonder how many other people he has...

Starting from pulling into the hotel, the outside property is well kept. From the moment we walked in, Mr. James greeted us and was supper excited to have us stay with the Holiday Inn! He was through with asking me if I was a One Rewards member and assisted me in looking uo my information. He then asked how our day was and super excited tonlearn that we are in the military. Mr James took a moment to share about his time in the service. He then proceeded to check us in by asking if we had a preference on which floor to stay on to making sure our food options were covered and recommended of corse the hotel restaurant first followed by outside options and which in his opinion were excellent. He then made sure that we were covered for breakfast the next day and then wished us all the best with our travel and once again made to thank us for choosing Holiday Inn for our lodging needs and have a wonderful day. (Mr. James made us feel so welcome, he is a ROCK STAR!) The room we got was on the sixth floor. Going through the hall to our room we noticed that it was in excellent shape and finally to our room...The room was well kept and quite tidy. The beds were absolutely amazing and so comfortable!!! The bathroom was well kept and all room amenities were well stocked. We were on the road early the next day and stopped in for a bite to eat before getting on the road. The hostess gave us such a warm greeting and chatted with us for a minute while taking our order! KUDOS to the restaurant staff as they provided us with great service and tasty breakfast! The gentleman who checked us out, once again gave us a warm greeting and was delighted that we had a great experience with their hotel. He wished us a great day and a great journey to our final destination. Overall experience with the Holiday Inn was EXCELLENT!!! The hotel staff are rock stars and take the time to make sure your needs are met and they certainly know how to put a smile...
