I had the pleasure of being served by Grant during my recent visit to Outback Steakhouse, and I feel compelled to share just how extraordinary his service was. From the moment we sat down, it was clear that Grant was not just doing his job but was genuinely invested in providing us with an exceptional dining experience.
Right from the start, his warmth and attentiveness made us feel at ease. He greeted us with a friendly smile, took the time to ask if we had any questions about the menu, and offered insightful recommendations. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he explained the various dishes in a way that made us excited to try them. It’s rare to find someone who has not only mastered the details of the food but can also convey that enthusiasm to guests.
Throughout our meal, Grant continued to go above and beyond. He was incredibly attentive without being overbearing, always checking in at the right moments to ensure we were enjoying our food and that everything was to our liking. This level of care and consideration felt like an added luxury to an already great dining experience.
What truly set Grant apart, however, was his genuine kindness and professionalism.
Grant's attention to detail was also impressive—he anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, from refilling our drinks at just the right time to checking in on the pacing of our meal to make sure we were never left waiting. His ability to strike the perfect balance between attentive service and giving us space to enjoy our time together was truly remarkable.
By the end of the meal, we felt not just like customers, but like guests who had been cared for by someone who genuinely wanted to ensure we had a memorable experience. It's rare to encounter service this exceptional, and Grant truly made our evening special. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your server, you can expect nothing short of outstanding service—thoughtful, efficient, and delivered with a smile.
Overall, I can’t recommend Grant highly enough. He is the epitome of excellent customer service, and he elevated our entire experience at Outback Rocky Mount. If you're in the area, I highly suggest asking for him—he will undoubtedly make your visit...
Read moreThis was the second time I had been here in two weeks. The first time was on a Wednesday and the second time was after church on Sunday. The first time my husband and I had an excellent time, the food was awesome, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. I had ordered the steak and lobster tail with the strawberry salad and the loaded sweet potato. The steak and lobster melted in my mouth and tasted buttery. The salad was off the chain. I raved about our experience to my family and friends. The second time we went there I ordered the same thing but it was a different outcome. I also ordered the blooming onion which was a big disappointment. It was very greasy, with grease all over the plate and it had stayed in the fryer too long. The waitress returned it and brought back another, which came back the same way, so I ended up returning it and not getting it at all. My steak came out overcooked and the lobster tailed was also over cooked. Again I returned the food after talking to the manager. She apologized and ordered another. Same result, I had decided I wasn't coming back any time soon. We happened to see the first waitress and I told her what happened and she was kind enough to explain that it is not so busy on week days and the cooks have a chance to be more mindful of how they cook, but on the weekends, they are so busy they get overwhelmed and can't be as mindful as they were during the week days. I appreciated her explanation, I feel if you are a professional chef or have some type of training, you should be able to cook the same whether it's a week day or a weekend. I will be going back, but it would be through the week and my other favorite place will have my attention on the weekend. This is the only reason I gave the food two stars, there is no consistency. The managers were very apologetic and considerate of my problem with the food and handled the...
Read moreWe're staying at a hotel nearby to this location, and decided to place a pickup order. The food was ready when promised, and all food items that we ordered were included in our order.
There were a few areas that have opportunity for improvement: We ordered the Queensland Chicken Pasta, and the chicken breast wasn't sliced/cut. I would expect the chicken to be sliced for a take out order at least, because if somebody is eating in their car or in a hotel room, etc., being able to cut the chicken themselves may be difficult. The pasta wasn't sauced at all. There was a tiny cup of Alfredo sauce in the container for that big order of pasta & chicken. It wasn't indicated that we wanted the sauce on the side, so the pasta and chicken were pretty dry with only a tiny drizzle of Alfredo sauce on it. We ordered the fried mushroom appetizer, and the breading was soggy and tasted like the oil they were fried in needed to be changed. (Yes they were still hot when we started eating them, so it wasn't like they sat and got cold.) The butter cake was hard, almost stale. The Tim Tam cake didn't have the Tim Tam cookies on top, as advertised it would.
We paid $80 for two appetizers (wings & fried mushrooms), an entree (chicken Alfredo pasta), a side of steamed broccoli, and two desserts (butter cake & Tim Tam brownie cake), and were sadly disappointed.
The side of broccoli and wings were good, and they didn't put whipped cream on the Tim Tam cake as requested by me in the order instructions.
Everybody we encountered there today were extremely friendly!
We understand it's Christmas Eve, so they may have been extremely busy, and/or understaffed, so I was hesitant to post a review. The goal of my review is to hopefully improve future food quality by mentioning these...
