ALDI — Local services in Rome

I love this grocery store! The products are mostly their brand, however they are as good as national name brands (except the coffee). The produce is really good and low priced! Things to know about shopping ALDI: You need a quarter to unlock the buggy. You get the quarter back when you return it to the buggy area. You can purchase bags or bring your own. They are located under the conveyer belt at checkout. Old fashion paper is 6 cents. Plastic is 10 cents (larger than Walmart bags). They only accept cash and Debit cards. No credit. No check. No SNAP. The employees are super friendly. They carry staples and seasonal groceries. I was buying Kroger brand and Great value with a little national brands mixed in. We now buy our food at ALDI and are saving $20-$40/week for a family of 4. So glad it's...

(March 2024)This is unacceptable and unfortunately is being sold all over the country in every supermarket, I was hoping aldi was spared of this disgusting 3D meat the FDA approved but here we are, can't even trust aldi anymore, these chicken breast were $13.00 for nothing bust plastic trash, you can rip it apart like paper.

• JULY UPDATE** Bought bacon and lettuce yesterday, went to make breakfast this morning, and saw black mold on the lettuce & THE BACON WAS 2 MONTHS OLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Checkout lady was nice, but you have to pay to use a shopping cart, and you do not get your things bagged. This would not be so bad if it had been mentioned in the ad so you could bring your own bag. Except for a couple of specials, I do not see any big savings in the stuff I usually buy and the choices are very limited. A better deal to me is the Sav-A-Lot. Also, as a person with a walking handicap, there is no apparent electric cart, only a wheelchair that would be difficult to use if you also have upper extremity problems and have no one to push you. Overall a big disappointment after all the build-up. Probably will not go back. Also, if i have to pay for it, i will not use a cart. i will just not buy more than i can carry in my old...
