This La Quinta is probably the worst I've ever stayed at. You definitely shouldn't spend more than $60/night to stay here.
The first room we checked into had dirt and debris in the bathroom that could have easily been vacuumed up. There were mismatched paint colors and the AC unit was making noise, the toilet had stains in the inside, the floor was heavily worn, but worst of all, the sink was clogged. Which doesn't make one feel good - how was it cleaned if it wasn't even rinsed?
I mentioned it to the front office and was given another room to move to. When I was on the way to the other room, I overheard another family had a problem in their room and the front office was apologizing and assigning them a different room, too. When I got to the new room, it was in equally poor shape. Water stains in the bathroom, corroded faucet and drain metals, the shower curtain bar was sagging down, the toilet had stains, there was dirt and debris that could easily have been vacuumed, different color paint, stuff left in the mini fridge... At least the sink drained and the AC wasn't as loud. But then we found the next morning that the bathtub barely drained. You'd be standing in several inches of water at the end of your shower. Which again, begs the question - either the house keeper didn't clean the tub and report it as not draining OR they did and never reported it OR maintenance is woefully understaffed.
Walking through the building, it's immediately obvious how aged everything is. The floor in the elevator was filthy, walls and corners were in rough shape, doors and door frames beat up - there was an ice machine on the bottom floor that began to leak and in an attempt to repair it, obviously used caulk to try and patch it. It was done so poorly the caulk was smeared everywhere and aging. Everywhere had a wet, damp smell. It was clear how worn down the place was and how unwilling or unable they are to keep it up. The hot tub and pool were both broken during our stay. The cleaning staff carts were very thin on cleaning products and themselves not in great shape. Storage room doors were just left open in chaos. It was nice they were dog friendly, but no one seemed to be picking up after their dogs and staff weren't even trying to provide poop bags for them.
Back in our room, our door creaked very loud when opening and our towels wouldn't dry overnight which tells me there wasn't nearly enough airflow in the room. There were tortilla chip crumbs from previous people left in a drawer under the TV, which seemed to leave a grease stain indicating they'd been there a while. The TV stand had a dozen holes just randomly drilled into it. The desk near the window had a leg clearly broken and was about to fall over. The alarm clock alarm was left on and woke up me, my partner, and our three kids at 6am - just one of the worst places I've ever stayed. They left half full bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Are they used before? Left behind? It was about an ounce of stuff - just barely enough for one person - how is that helpful in any way?
Breakfast was...okay. the eggs they had didn't look good, along with the sausage. The biscuits didn't look baked but couldn't be put in the toaster to warm. The gravy that was supposed to go on the biscuits looked truly vile. There were only two cereals - regular Cheerios and Raisin Bran, and the waffle mix was too liquid-y causing most of it to drip out as you turned it over to cook.
The only reason I could consider giving this place anything above 1-star is the staff. They were very friendly.
It definitely feels like this building is held back by a restricted maintenance budget from La Quinta/Wyndham or they're opting out of the maintenance to save every penny they can. It certainly is very inconsistent with the other Wyndham/La Quinta's I've stayed at.
I've been in motel 6's in better shape than this one.
I would not recommend...
Read moreThis is the email I just sent to the general manager. Warning!! Do not stay at this hotel!!
I stayed at your Roswell hotel at 200 E 19th St the evening of Sunday, July 3rd and we checked out on Monday, July 4th. The reason why I am emailing you today is to inform your you that your hotel service was less than satisfactory and our hotel room was the same. I spoke with Janelle at the front desk upon check-out and told her about our unpleasant stay at your hotel. My hope is that she relayed our message to you. There are several reasons, why our stay at your hotel was horrible. As we let Janelle know upon checkout, we had a bloody towel in our room. Also, our ac unit in our room did cool the room efficiently and we requested a fan for the room. We asked the front desk guy, with dark hair to accommodate us further. First of all the taller gentleman with dark hair, never told us his name. But even worse was his room service, which was unacceptable. We waited almost an hour for him to bring up fresh towels to our room to replace the contaminated towel. We then proceeded to go down to the lobby hotel lobby to see what was taking so long. He was having a "dinner" conversation with another guest in the hotel lobby. We again, politely, waited 15 minutes for him until his conversation was interrupted by a different guest that needed service as well. After that I got in line and was able to finally speak with him. The front desk associate, with short dark hair, proceeded to tell me that he only had fresh pool towels available and that the hotel was out of fresh towels. Are you kidding me???!!!??? He also was rude and said that other hotel guests need something as well, which was the original guest and the two continued their conversation about what "dinner" they had the night before. After that the front desk service continued to get worse. As I stated before, the room was very stuffy and we requested a nice box fan for the room. Again, the guy who never told us his name, brought us up an extremely small desk fan that was filthy dirty and covered in dust. Needless to say, my wife I and will not be staying at your Roswell La Quinta in the future as your hotel was unclean, disgusting and had extremely bad hotel guest service. The one question that we have for you today, is what are you going to do for us to make up for this horrific stay at your...
Read moreIt was a quiet stay. Looked like it had potential for 5 stars but the room we had to stay in looked like it wasnt properly cleaned or as if someone had already stayed there. There was dog food on the carpet, hairs everywhere in the room and restroom (i hope it was dog hair..), towels were neatly folded but then when I grabbed it after shower i noticed it was shredded on one side. The metal frame was sticking out from bed near window and scraped my leg. Beds werent made properly and had what seemed was dirt on it. There was mold in the shower and created that musty smell in room. Floor was definitly not swept and carpet obviously not vacummed. Not sire if anyone even inspected room after houskeeper 'cleaned' it. Front desk was nice but did not offer us to change rooms and I didnt want to bother anymore since we were pretty tired but at least the offer to sleep in a different room without having to move our stuff wouldve been nice. The hot breakfast was as good as expected and attendant was quick and curteous. Overall I for sure expected a nicer stay for the price. I like the renovations to the hotel but some of these rooms really need to be looked over and not be rented out if they are not ready for clients and perhaps designate specific rooms to those who have pets. I know I wasnt the only one woh this experience since other people came down to have their room changed for similar situation. I, on the other hand, did not travel light and had kids to deal with so I didnt want to move everything in the middle if the night. One last thing, although room wasnt up to par like the usual la quinta stays i have had, i did appreciate that front desk took the initiative to anticipate my late arrival w kids and accomodated me in the first floor so we wouldnt have to do too much walking or deal with elevator...
