I had the pleasure of visiting the Twisted Fork last Sunday with my boyfriend and his family before I left for college. When we arrived at the Twisted Fork, we were told there would be about a 30 minute wait. We decided we’d try finding another nearby place but after realizing everything else was a comparable wait time or longer, we came back to the Twisted Fork. At this point 20 or so minutes had passed, so we ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes before being seated. There was not a lot of indoor waiting space so we decided to wait outside, and since it was warm out that wasn’t an issue but I could see it becoming one once winter hits. Once we were seated at our table our waitress took our drink orders and let us know that drinks would come right away but it would be about 30 minutes for appetizers. I ordered an iced tea and it was just ok, it was a little weak with not a lot of flavor or sweetness. After we waited some more, we received all of our appetizers. They were all quite good, my favorite being the Bavarian pretzels. They were piping hot, cooked perfectly and paired wonderfully with the cheese sauce. The fried ravioli with marinara sauce was also good, but it could’ve used more spice or garlic in my opinion. The spinach dip was good, although it could’ve used more salt and been more smooth. The hummus with fresh vegetables and pita bread was alright, it was slightly different than the hummus I’d had before, with not as heavy of a chickpea flavor but still good. After we finished our appetizers, we ordered our entrées and waited another 30 minutes or so before receiving them. I got the chicken and waffle which was something I had never tried before. It was delicious, and something I would 100% order again here. The waffles were cooked perfectly and sandwiched two deliciously crispy pieces of chicken and a couple slices of bacon. The combination of those things and the maple syrup was amazing, I normally have a smaller appetite but I was able to finish this portion mostly by myself. The rest of our party seemed to enjoy all of their food and ultimately we had a great dining experience. The reason I removed was star was because of the long wait time (something due in part to the national staffing shortage) as well as the lack of adequate seating in the waiting area. Other than that and a few minor things with the appetizers, I thoroughly enjoyed eating at the Twisted Fork and would gladly...
Read moreIf there was a rating for 0 this place would get it . We came in and were seated quickly. They had a very limited options on their menu and no kids breakfast items. I asked the waiter about some allergen issues and he said i dont know but you can probably assume that its in the food. I asked if he could go check and he came back and said good news! It is all made in house and doesn't contain said ingredient. We ordered since there was no breakfast menu for our 6 yo he asked for something off of the kids lunch menu. We were then told he couldn't order from the kids menu until 12 and it was 11:15. So i asked for a minute. After painstakingly figuring out what our son wanted i was finally able to flag down our waiter after he ignored me everytime he walked by. Finally 15 minutes later he came to take our sons order and informed us at that he could no longer order breakfast and would need to order off of the lunch menu when lunch didnt start until 12 ( he claimed the kitchen was doing an early transition and said he had no control over ). When my friend and I's food came the hash browns were soggy and uncooked , the eggs were cold, the chx fried steak and gravy was not made in house it was clearly from. A box and deep fried and the gravy had the ingredients in it we were allergic too. Our toast wasn't even toasted and the portions were smaller than child sized. When i finally flagged someone down I asked to speak to a manager and the woman rudely said thats me then proceeded to tell us she couldnt hear us over the loud music. (We could barely hear ourselves talk at the table) After showing her how gross our food was and asking to cancel my sons order she said the waiter lied to us that they weren't even doing lunch for another 45 minutes 😳. This place made Denny's look like a 5 star restaurant. My poor son was so hungry we left and had to stop at McDonald's just to get him something quick. I will NEVER go back . The manager comped our meals but this was one of the worst dining experiences we have had. Each person at the tables around us also had an issue with their orders. You are at Pt. Ruston . get...
Read moreWe arrived to celebrate a birthday. While they were fairly busy, our food arrived in spurts. I ordered a French Dip for $16 with a side of fries (the sandwich does not come with fries but you could order a side for $4). I also ordered a beverage (diet with a splash of lemonade). The rest of the guests received their meals first but the server either forgot the salad or it just didn't get done. So, one of our party had their salad after the main dinner. Another received a taco salad but it came with a different kind of meat other than the pulled porK she ordered. My sandwich arrived but without the fries and several minutes after the rest of the party. My friend didn't receive her meal until we were more than halfway done eating. Since I was sharing my meal with my friend, we both ate our very small half of a French Dip...which was gone in a matter of minutes. Ten minutes later I was still waiting for my fries and she her side of potato chips, a refill on my beverage and my friend still waiting for her fondue platter. Certainly not the best showing for our first visit to this restaurant. Sadly, the server kept telling us they were backed up. Never, never tell your guests you are backed up. I'd rather have had our meal served all at one time so that we could enjoy it together than have it served in bits and pieces. For me, the sandwich was far overpriced for what you got...especially coming without fries. It did seem out of the norm and was a bit lacking in taste. Most disappointing. I'd be willing to try them again, but would hope to never have this...
