So the hotel is being renovated and according to the front desk it should be completed by sometime in January 2020. The hotel is in need of the refresh but to be fair anything that is beachside is in need of constant repair and upkeep. It just would have been nice if either the website or the Hilton Honors app made mention of the renovations before I booked the stay. Maybe a,"pardon our dust" or one of those other cheesy marketing terms like,"making you're next stay that much better." Anything would be better than walking in cold and seeing an ad hoc front desk with a cloth over it. So until the renovations are completed you will be greeted by cheerful professional staff standing in front of a rough cut sheetrock wall with a view of what appears to be the kitchen in the back. Keeping this in mind be prepared to see the odd piece of construction equipment or crated building materials around the hotel. Also, please note that the fitness room is out of order as are the restrooms near the elevator on the lobby level and the guest laundry is similarly out of order. So the room we recieved was on the second floor and appears to be fairly up to date. The TV is a 4o inch LCD and there is a Keurig coffee pot, microwave, and a mini fridge. There is a small work desk suitable for a laptop if you happen to be traveling for bussiness and it is equipped with an AC outlet and integrated USB chargers. There are similar AC outlet integrated USB chargers next to the beds (this room has 2 queen beds). The bathroom is equipped with a shower and tub combo but everything was clean, functional, and appeared to be relatively new. The air conditioner in the room was quiet (right around 51dB for the sound pressure level...about as noisy as a quiet office...maybe a funeral home 🤔)and seemed to work fine. The thermostat seems to have a 1-2 minute delay between adjustment until the air unit responds in the room. Breakfast included the typical staples, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravey, waffle maker, cook to order eggs (Hilton Garden Inn perk), fruit yogurt, pastries, cold cereals, oatmeal, etc. The scrambled eggs were a tad bit cold but otherwise fine. Since the kitchen and breakfast area are seemingly being remodeled I'll give them a wide margin on everything. Considering the limitations and disruption construction causes I would say they have done a fantastic job keeping things moving. Overall the stay was pleasant I just wish Hilton would give travelers a heads up when a remodel is underway in case people have severe dust allergies or are traveling with small children (since children have no sense of self preservation and put everything they find into...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL This place was horrible. I'm disabled and need an electric scooter to move about. We stayed at room 201. The distance between our door and the door across from us was about 4 feet. I had to get the front of my scooter in our room then get out and slide the back around to get my scooter in, and out, of the room. Absolutely unacceptable. Also, there was a mould smell throughout the rooms we were in. In the pic posted w this review you can see the wall was falling apart next to the very loud AC unit. Yes, we told a meme er of the cleaning staff and the gentleman at the front desk and they both told us they'd let maintenance know. We were there for 5 days and how it was when we arrived was how it was when we left. Because we weren't in the room 24x7 we can't say maintenance didn't look at it. We had to play white noise very loud in the bedroom at night to over power that AC whenever it kicked on. Are you freaking kidding me?? To the guy whistling in the hallway there is a special place in hell reserved just for you. People continued to park in the hash marks, which was an obvious loading zone, and park so close to us that we had to back out vehicle out just to be able to load the scooter. Oh, come to find out the employees park there. Smh The hallways reeked of cigarette smoke. That came from employees smoking outside while the door was propped open. If this is what Hilton calls "comfort" I will take their word for it and never stay at a Hilton owned place again. Also, there is/was a sign saying the hotel is currently in transition as is NOT ADA compatible as of 07/17/24. Again, seriously?? I beg you... Read the reviews. There are better places with similar pricing that are loads better than this garbage place. I'm still trying to get the "ick" off. However, the hotel IS smack in the middle of 2 of the best restaurants in St Augustine and is across the street from a wonderful donut shop and beach. So, there's that. My wife enjoyed the pool. The bed was nice. A little too firm for my taste but it wasn't bad. God I hate the pillows there....
Read moreI was disappointed with this Hilton location. The front lobby had an odd bleach smell and there was no complimentary coffee, tea or water available in the lobby. The room was spacious however it was very noisy. I stayed in room 309 and there was no weather stripping under the door. Every noise in the hallway echoed in our room all night long. Housekeeping decided to vacuum from 10-12 pm. People ran up and down hallway. I didn't complain because my son was already asleep. The standard breakfast was not present. Hilton has recently implemented a $10 a day per person (up to 2 people) voucher for food items. I had asked the hotel staff several times about their restaurant and I was told they didn't have one. We stopped by at 8 am before checkout. The options were slim with $8.90 getting you the continental breakfast that included a small assortment of fruit, cereal, orange juice and a bagel. An upcharge would include a waffle and or omelette. The options were very minimal so we opted for a granola bar and drink to be charged to the room. These charges were supposed to be comp'd, but never were. My receipt was also supposed to emailed at my 8 am checkout, but never was.
As a highlight the hotel is convenient. It's located a short walk across from the beach. Restaurants are also within...
