My Darling Bridal — Local services in Saint Paul

First: My Darling Bridal was PERFECT. Absolutely perfect, warmly welcoming, and filled with an air of genuine excitement for me and my entire experience. I just got home a few hours ago and knew I had to write a review!

My sister and my mom came up to Minnesota just for the weekend to help me find a wedding dress. Since they are only here for 48 hours, I booked SIX wedding dress appointments at 6 different shops all over the cities for today. I knew it would be a lot, but I was determined to find the dress today.

The first 3 places I went to were at 9am, 12pm, and 2:00pm. (Bella Bridal, Bridal Accents Couture, and Flutter.) Each place was lovely, with friendly, welcoming consultants, and I enjoyed my experience at each shop I had a favorite dress at each one. I decided to keep looking just because my mom and sister were only going to be here today, and it was the whole reason they came.

We were running behind after the 3rd appointment, so I called My Darling Bridal to let them know I was running behind and I needed to change my appointment from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. She said that was fine, but that they close at 5 so I would have just a little less time to try on dresses. I told her that was fine.

Traffic from the Wild hockey team made getting there take even longer, so I arrived at 4:08pm. They had a cute sign outside that said “Welcome to your appointment, Jessica,” and as soon I walked in, she offered me tea! It was so adorable!

I immediately knew I was going to love the consultant. (I wish I knew her name! My appointment email says “Lily” but I’m not 100% sure.) She listened intently, took notes, and then looked at a few of my photos. Unlike the other places, she brought me my dresses (instead of me choosing them), and I actually really, really loved that. She brought me dresses I would have never picked out myself, but that she knew I would like given all the things I told her about what I had and hadn’t been liking at previous stores.

I tried out 3 or 4 dresses, and before I knew it, it was 5:10pm. My sister told her that it was past their closing time, and she very genuinely just brushed it off: “Oh, I don’t mind staying… I’m having fun!” And honestly, I genuinely felt like she was having just as much fun as I was. I felt like she was part of my entourage, not just the consultant. She was SO fun and SO likeable and SO genuine with her shared smiles and joy and giggling with me.

I put on what I thought was going to be “just another dress,” and I walked out of the dressing room to show my sister and mom. (Unlike the other shops, there wasn’t actually a mirror in the dressing room itself, which I actually like a lot since I didn’t have to look at myself by myself first -- I felt like it made the whole process more efficient.)

So I walked out in the dress, which was TOTALLY different than the exact same style I had been trying all day, and my sister burst into tears before I could even see myself in the mirror. It was perfect. Literally perfect.

I saw myself in the mirror and i started getting teary-eyed, too. It was stunning and it fit me PERFECTLY. I was so pleasantly surprised that she took all of her notes of what I did and didn’t like and found me a dress that was just slightly different than what I thought I wanted, but actually kept the things that were most important to me.

So, that was the dress - and I immediately knew it. Just to be sure, I tried on one more and then excitedly asked to try on my dress again. Then I really, really started crying. It was perfect, I said I wanted it, and we all hugged and took a million pictures and were so excited. We left ay 6pm, a whole hour after they had closed and she didn't mind at all.

Ultimately, I loved my dress, and I loved my experience there almost as much as I loved the dress itself. I told the consultant that my experience there was the best of the four places I had been and that I just had so much fun with her, too. (I’m pretty sure this is my first every Google review -- I just had to share this story!)

Just went in for my second consultation here and Olesya, the owner, helped me find my absolute dream dress. First, let me start with the dresses, everything here is stunning! I’ve been to several boutiques and left a bit disappointed thinking I couldn’t find a dress for me. Went to this boutique and every single dress was beautiful and flattering. They have a wonderful selection and the hardest part for me was trying to pick between them! When I found the dress I was head over heels in love with, I was shocked that the price was below my budget too! These dresses are extremely reasonably priced it’s crazy. They’re beautiful and amazing quality. The boutique itself is charming and clean. It’s beautiful and comfortable. Olesya was lovely and so helpful. She made the experience so wonderful. I was a little worried since I’m a rather young looking bride but she had no judgement at all. In fact, she was more than happy to help! The paperwork process was super easy and quick and she even gifted me a box of wonderful self care things. I’m so glad I got to have my dream wedding dress experience thanks to you guys! There aren’t enough kind words I could use to describe this experience! I’d be here all day typing…

They also have a tiktok under their boutique name and it helped me see a lot of the dresses I wanted to try on as well. This is definitely one of the best, if not the best shop in the...

I wish I could say I had a positive experience at this store, but my appointment felt rushed and transactional. I don’t remember receiving an email prior to my appointment as the other brides describe with their experience. When I arrived, my consultant asked maybe 3 questions at the beginning of my appointment and showed no emotion or enthusiasm all throughout. This gave me the impression that she was only there to grab dresses for me - nothing more, nothing less. There was also a package delivery that was made during my appointment and my consultant decided it was appropriate to unbox it in front of me and my guests, indicating that my time was not respected. At the end of the appointment, I asked if she could write me a list of the dresses I liked and the prices, to which she responded she’d email them to me. It’s been a little over two weeks now and I still haven’t received that email, which wraps up my unfortunate experience with this store. Luckily I had an amazing first time experience prior to this at a different store (Anna Be) so the bar was high. Ladies, don’t settle! This is a huge investment of your hard-earned money - go where you’re appreciated and treated like a human being and not just another...
