Wow, that was my first thought when I visited this place. The park isn't huge and it has no play equipment. What it does have plenty of is charm and history. Built well over a hundred years ago and restored more than once, this place is like a place frozen in time. The old fountain is fantastic and provides a unique backdrop for any occasion. As the spring / summer comes in a little more the hanging baskets will have flowers in them. Which just turns up the appeal to the next level. If you like a nice quiet place, with unique ambiance and a great backdrop checkout Irvine Park.

I got married here in 2010, which I had wanted to do ever since I first visited this park when a friend was married there in the 90s. I love how tucked away it feels. The city decorates the park with lots of flowers around the gazebo, fountain, and other areas across the park. It’s super close to the river, yet you’d never know from there. I love all the old, beautiful houses that completely enclose the park. The gazebo and beautiful fountain are highlights, of course. The park is usually pretty quiet and is always well maintained.

Very beautiful and quaint Park, it is definitely a hidden gem and a great place to have a wedding. I was just there recently for a wedding and they had it set up very beautifully. Other than that, I've usually walked through here before and it is still nothing but beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend and I would definitely love to look into further the information for weddings or using that place as a venue of some sort.

It's more than just the beautiful small park, it's really the whole neighborhood. Many of the original old houses surrounding it that have been restored, and because of this can be on the Historical Registry. With some there is history about the houses. Unfortunately, Forepaughs, the elegant mansion restaurant that closed in 2019 stands empty. My siblings & I could only imagine being able to buy one of the houses that was for sale & to open a B & B. Alas, it's just out of our price range! But it was gratifying to see people caring for the houses, keeping them in good condition as we walked around. It is worth the time of a relaxing walk to see & learn the history of a piece of St. Paul. The walk isn't too taxing; there is a hill & modern cobblestones (larger shape) but both my sister & I with Arthritis were able to manage at a slow pace. The only hazard were the damp leaves that made it slipperyin spots. It would help to have homeowners & city keep the sidewalks clear of leaves for...
