Yes I would like to share something, I talked to the GM manager there when I stayed there for a week. I asked him as any way that he can help me out with a discount or anything like that. He said normally we only give like 10% off or something like that the more we talked he said most I probably can give you would be 20% I said okay. Well today I called June the 13th I'll talk to deceptionist her name was Lee it's a female. Don't get me wrong she's very nice. But she's telling me one thing and then she gets her boss and gets on the phone and then it's something else. But discussion we had last week then he gets on the phone and tries to tell me no that's the only thing we can do is 10%. No that ain't what you told me last week don't tell me one thing then it turns out to be something else that's one thing I hate don't be one way to my face and then be another way away from me or another way on the phone no I don't play that that's very poor management. And then deceptionist saying one thing and then turns out to be something else and don't put me on hold and saying well let me go see if that's okay and then put him on the phone and then I have to repeat myself no I'm not cool with that either. Don't get me wrong I like that motel and I like to stay at that motel but I do not like the way they handle things when it comes to this this was very unprofessional very rude. I spent a lot of money when I was there for 3 weeks and this is the way y'all going to treat me I don't think so very very unofficial. Very poor management on his part for telling me one thing and then it turns out to be something else. I understand that y'all's rates go up every day and all that stuff I understand that but don't tell me that you going to give me 20% off and then you going to turn around and say you didn't say that yes you did say that. That's like calling a customer a liar I don't have a reason to lie. And I do not appreciate this at all. I was only staying there because I have to do dialysis that was the only reason why I was staying there and plus it was close to my job too but if you don't want my business that's fine I can take it somewhere else but like I say don't tell me one thing and then turn around and say something else on the phone. Very unprofessional. Being one way to your face and being another way when you're not there that's not right...
Read moreThis was my second time staying here. I couldn't leave a second review so I'm revising my first. My first stay was last September. I was travelling alone on my way back from Canada on a solo trip. The front desk staff was AMAZING! She realized I was travelling alone and put me on a first floor room close to the desk in case I needed anything. I think she even made a point to go outside when I went out to bring in my bags as it was dark - and I think she was trying to make me more comfortable - or maybe she was just checking on the grounds - but either way it felt really nice. The room was updated - neat and smelled CLEAN. It is rare these days for rooms not to have an odor (and I'm particular about odors). The room was well kept and in great condition. Housekeeping does a great job. Also, there was no issues with bugs of any kind (also something I am extremely particular about). Trip 2 - was with my husband - and we stopped there over the Christmas holidays. The price was extremely reasonable. The front desk staff wasn't as friendly as last time, but was definitely efficient and polite (I would consider it very acceptable). The room smelled clean (again) - that is HUGE. It smelled like housekeeping actually cleaned it - and upon inspection - it is evident that they take pride in their work. The breakfast was great - more so for my husband as I don't eat much for breakfast. Eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, waffles, bananas, juice, coffee, muffins. The only thing I would add is hot chocolate mix or apple cider mix - but otherwise it was a better breakfast than most budget conscious hotel brands. What I love about this hotel is it is far enough from the highway that you don't have to listen to traffic all night long. Our home is quiet - and there's nothing worse than visiting a hotel and having traffic noise keeping you up all night. Not an issue here. I honestly have no idea why this hotel is rated so low. I've had two amazing stays - with months between each stay. Each has been excellent. I'm pretty picky about hotels. I do read reviews before staying. On the Choice Hotel website this hotel is reviewed highly - and that's what I based my decision on. I can't speak for everyone's experience, nor the room they were in - but I can say I had two exceptional stays. ...
Read moretraveling back to SW Ohio from Washington DC we decided that morning to book a stay at this property we had stayed in last summer. We booked online as usual, but chose the new lowest prepaid rate after choosing our arrival date of 8/28/16. Upon arrival at the property late in the evening the front desk clerk informed us we had no reservation for that night, but a reservation for 9/4/16 was showing in the system. He was able to take care of us & assign a room for our stay at the rate we had booked online. Apparently unbeknownst to us, your online reservation system booked our prepaid stay for the default date of 9/4/16, even though I had manually changed the arrival date to 8/28/16. I guess your system isn't supposed to allow prepaid booking online for the same day. Anyway, your front desk clerk took care of us. Room was on par with most Choice Hotel properties and pretty much as we remembered from the previous year. Still had the welcoming rubber ducky on a mound of fluffy towels on the edge of the bathtub. Great little touch! One negative is the flat panel TV is now wall-mounted, which no longer allows for changing the viewing angle to better view from the couch in the seating area. Breakfast offerings were comparable to other Choice Hotel properties, although I must say that some type of scrambled eggs are much preferred over the fried eggs that were offered that morning. We arrived to breakfast with only about 45 minutes of breakfast time left & it didn't appear that many eggs had been taken by guests. My husband had some cereal but there was little milk left. When he went to find an employee to ask for milk, he found her sitting to the side of the front desk scrolling through her phone. We weren't actually sure she was an employee though because she was dressed in leggings and a shirt, so she very well could have been a guest for all we knew. She brought him a cup of milk for his cereal. At that point, with about 10 minutes of breakfast left, she began breaking down the breakfast area. I noticed a few guests arrive & then leave because the hot foods had already been removed. If breakfast hours end at 10:00am, then no items should be removed from the area until that time. Other than those 2 issues our stay...
