Food Lion — Local services in Salem

I love the fact that this place is always clean and never crowded. they have unique items that Kroger and Walmart don't have. However when I go in the store.... And there are hardly ANY other customers.....like none...... And the guy who rang up my groceries can't even put the three bags that I purchased into my cart...... Really? Hands me my receipt and goes about his business which was literally nothing cuz there was NO one behind me in line! If it was busy ...I get it but it never is... and I worked all day..... I would really love it if somebody would just put my groceries in the basket but I got this.....He was too busy talking to his coworkers. For a store who's struggling to keep up their market share and who's going to get phased out because of clicklist and WalMart delivery they need to do some major retraining.... I usually do clicklist..... But I will say if the workers were super friendly I had a smile on her face and put my groceries in my basket........ When this changes I will...

Absolutely the rudest staff and management I've ever seen. Offers free wifi to their customers but then tells them they can't hang around the store to use it when they need it. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The manager told us he wasnt trying to be a jerk when he told us we couldn't sit outside to pick up the wifi while he then proceeded to act like exactly that. A jerk. And only saying jerk is putting it nicely. They said if they saw us back there they would call the police when we weren't doing a thing wrong. All because they wanted us to move out of the way so a big group of their employees could sit where we were to smoke. Like if youre employeed somewhere shouldn't you be more concerned about doing your job and being polite to customers of the store rather than only be concerned about not having your smoke break interrupted? The Best store to shop in Salem.Always clean great staff and management can not say enough great things about service and great help provided..Walmart in Salem needs to take classes from.food lion staff..Always great attitudes great smiles and help as for Walmart staff look miserable ..never offers help poor attitudes poor service lots of changes needed or the doors want stay opened long.There is a wise saying build yourvstorehouse well and people always come back for keeps.
