I am a Drury inn fan and have stayed at countless locations for many many years. I was extremely disappointed this time staying at the Drury inn and suites N. Stone Oak. This was my very first location those many many years ago. Well this week was different. I drove over 3 hours to get here. My children and I arrived right as the 5:30pm kick back began. The food was good. After dinner, I stood in line for my complimentary drinks. The white woman at the bar was very friendly with the patrons in front of me. When it was my turn I asked for margaritas and gave her my drink card. She asked for my id. I told her it was in my room upstairs. She told me she needed my id. Ok. So I gather my children who were finished eating and went upstairs to retrieve my driver's licence. I went back downstairs again, tired, and ready to relax from a long drive. I stood in a longer line. I noticed a young looking white women walk passed me with her 2 drinks. No one inconvenienced her and made her go back upstairs for her id. When it was finally my turn I gave the same woman from earlier my drink card, id, and asked for margaritas. She said you want a margarita. I said no I asked for margaritas. I wanted to get all of my drinks now so I do not have to come back here again. She prepared the drinks and did not apologize for the inconvenience. I have gray hairs in the front of my head and several children. USE. COMMON. SENSE. I understand asking for I'd when serving alcohol but be fair. Ask everyone. Why did the young white lady not get asked for id? I decided not to utilize the free drinks for the remainder of my stay because of this treatment. 2 days later my children swam in the pool and I needed to wash their swimwear. I asked the front desk for quarters in exchange for my $5 bill. A woman accepted the bill turned around and out loud started complaining to the other workers. "Everyone is wanting to wash. We are running out of quarters." Whose fault is that? Why complain when a paying guest asks for assistance? This was rude and the customer service here has gone downhill. They have hired new people to work here that do not understand how to treat paying guests. I work very hard for my money. I fully expect to go on vacation with my children and have fun. No one should be treated this way. Great job ruining the experience of a loyal guest. I will not come...
Read moreWe ( Hubby & I), stayed at The Drury Inn & Suites for 3 nights in April & this is, by far, the BEST HOTEL STAY EVER!!! I agree with the other "5-Star Reviews" Our Suite was impeccable! Very clean, Soft Pillows, Comfy Bed, etc. The Staff was amazing too! Very accommodating, Friendly & helpful!! I have NEVER seen a Hotel give both COMPLIMENTARY Breakfasts & Dinners. We also got free Drink cards, for both My Spouse and I, which allowed 3 Alcoholic beverages, Per Adult, Per night. I didn't use mine, but they give You SO many " Comped" items, You feel like You are in Las Vegas, not San Antonio, Texas ! We travel a lot & usually stay @ Hampton Inn & Suites, but We will now be looking for "Drury Inn & Suites" from here on out!:) The Breakfast is always fresh & healthy options too, which are a plus! The dinner was a nice "Freebie" and a nice perk too! The indoor Pool & Jacuzzi Spa was amazing & clean, and I swam in it everyday, and Hubby & I had it to ourselves.đđ The Gym was small but adequate, & was just fine for a quick workout. I have to mention how kind & outgoing the kitchen Staff was too! They kept Breakfast & Dinner items rotated & fresh, and they greeted You, visited with You and made You feel welcomed:) The ambiance of the Foyer was incredible too!! They have a Glass elevator overlooking this 30 or 40 foot Chandelier that was a work of Art; a masterpiece in its own right. The granite/Marble (ish) flooring throughout the main check-in area was a fit-for-a-king luxurious experience! The Foyer also had these Beautiful high-back wing chairs, which we very warm & inviting! There was a little "nook" off to the side for quiet moments too, such as reading, praying, meditation, etc. I think there was a fireplace, but not 100% sure. This is definitely a 4-Season's place to stay. The exterior grounds are kept immaculately as well. There was an outdoor Patio area with tables & chairs, that was covered, so You aren't directly in the elements. They also have a small Computer room for conducting Business. They have a tiny Store, off to the right of reservations, which has "CONVENIENCE" items too:) It's located in the NICE part of San Antonio too! Security drives through regularly & You are super safe there:) Well done Drury Inn & Suites!! We will look for these establishments everywhere when traveling! 100 Stars given...
Read moreWhen I arrived to the hotel the entrance was nice. We had fast check in. When we received our room keys we went to the room to check it out. Once in the room there were many things that we noticed, there was hair in the bathtub, urine stains running down the toilet base, dark stain spots on the sheets and blanket that my kids were supposed to sleep with and hair on pillow cases. I went down to the manager and told the manager what was found in the room and they did offer to change our room and upgraded us to a suite which we appreciated. Then on both nights we stayed we were looking forward to a salad with the kickback that they provided but all the lettuce was brown and they were still serving it to all the guests. The second night that we were there for the kickback the lettuce was brown again and I went to speak to a manager and asked him if he would eat the lettuce that way and he admitted that he would not. The manager asked me for my room number and I provided it and he said he would take some money off which come to find out he never did. I woke up in the middle of the night and looked at the time and found that I had a receipt from the hotel and it was for the total amount that was billed the first day. I do think that when a manager says something he or she should honor their word and do exactly that. I will say that we have stayed at many hotels that have hot tubs and this one was actually hot unlike most of the other ones that was a nice thing about this hotel. The second nightâs kickback was supposed to be chicken strips and they did have them but when my family went to eat them they were pink and slimy I took this up to the manager and all he could tell me was that they are precooked and said that they were fine and continued to serve them to the guest I did not eat much more after finding that. Very disappointed with the manager the second night and the lack of responses that he gave me about the food and the quality...
