We will no longer be staying with the La Quinta Inn after this past week. My parents came to visit from California and started staying at the North Stone Oak location on the 22nd and typically it has been a nice location but they lost all credibility this stay. On Christmas eve my mother took an extremely bad tumble in the handicap spot over the tire curb because the area by the Handicap spots is extremely poorly lit. When she fell, she fell into the building hitting her head up against the concrete wall and her side as well. My dad who is a disabled Vet was finally able to assist my mother into the lobby of the hotel where there was no one working. (It was only 10pm) My dad was finally able to find some kid that worked there that had no idea what to do. He told them oh there’s a hospital nearby but couldn’t even direct them or assist my mother in anyway. My daughter who is 12 and was with them had more common sense than this employee and went got her a bag full of ice for her ribs along with a towel to clean up her face which was bleeding heavily. They called me because I know the area and was there within 10 minutes to take them to the hospital that is 2 minutes down the street. Mind you there are 2 hospitals this kid could have directed them too and couldn’t. One when you make a right down the street to which you pull right into (2 mins away) or one on Stone Oak parkway (2 mins away as well). They spent Christmas Eve in the ER as well as part of Christmas day getting Xrays and Cat scans done and the hotel didn’t do anything, didn’t contact her to see if she was okay or see if they could assist in any matter. The next morning they went up and were able to finally speak to a person at the desk to try to file a report and this employee didn’t know how to handle and accident either and said someone would call them. Nobody called, nobody cared again. Where has the Customer Care gone??? Finally 4 days later they are able to speak to a so called assistant manager who made my mom stand in the freezing cold weather for 30 plus minutes asking what happened only to be told the Manager has been out of the office and he would have to get with her first before they took a report. 4 days later still in a lot of pain because of this locations poorly lit handicap area and no sympathy no customer care what so ever. I was forced to file a complaint with corporate about the location and lack of responsibility and am awaiting a phone call but I figure at this point it is pointless because obviously the hotel does not care about their guests and doesn’t care about accidents that happen on their property. It saddens me to see such poor customer care especially to a disabled Vet and his wife, my parents. Have some respect and empathy and help accommodate...
Read moreI arrived at 9pm after a long day of traveling from NY. I've stayed at a handful of La Quinta locations before so being there was an event I was attending in the area there was no doubt in my mind this is where I was staying with my group of 3. Upon arrival the man at the front desk was very friendly. We had 2 rooms reserved for our three night stay and upon entering the rooms there was only one thought in my head: HORRIBLE!!!! We entered the first of two rooms to a musty warm smell[a.c was already on] and to find a small 'pile' of hair on the wooden floor. I was instantly taken back. Immediately I looked in the bathroom, only to find even more hair collected around the toilet and on the walls of the shower. To make matters worse there were a number of small wet puddles in front of the toilet, I can only think the worst at this point. While this discovery is happening our other party found out the sink[in his less than clean] room did not drain although the drain was open. With suitcases still very much packed and propped up on the nightstand for fear of the dirty floors, we went down to the front desk to address the uncleanliness. We were apologized to and were offered and upgrade to their suit[ for only one of the three nights, minus one bed we needed] with their intentions to have us once again relocate ourselves and belongings in the morning. With no intrest of losing a bed and playing room hop we requested a simple once over cleaning which we found out no one is on premise to do for us at this time of night till later the next morning. We asked for 2 new rooms in the hopes of those being the only two rooms uncleaned after the last check out. The nice man accommodated. Out next room was worse. Glob on the mirror, sticky circular residue on the floor upon entering, black stains on the toilet seat and white[looking like animal] hair embedded in globs all throughout the carpet. We had seen ENOUGH! We walked across the parking lot to the Marriott, got a better accommodation for less and our room is clean including the full kitchen and living room. I don't understand how anyone has anything nice to say about this place other than the friendly staff, the carpets, bedding, curtains[windows + showers] have not been unkept in quite some time. I saw they claimed renovation but DO NOT BELIEVE IT. Unless you like living in a filthy unsanitary mess left by the ones whom stayed before you, I highly recommend...
Read moreFORCED TO GIVE A STAR. Heeeck no! I pray me my family and I NEVER have to stay here again. For many reasons the MAIN one being rude staff. Rude ppl all around PERIOD. Its 2018 and it feels like it would when you hear ppl speak of the 1950s. None of the ppl speak to you in the hotel even when spoken back. As far as staff goes....a few are nice others, not so much. I went to the front desk, the attendant came up to assist I let her know I wanted to purchase a pop as I stepped over to grab it....a guy that had lighter skin then me of course came in and she started searching dor open rooms, and booking him in ect. I stoof there for about 7 mins and she never said one word to me after all the other bad vibes and crappy service I recieved around here ESPECIALLY from the breakfast lady.....I was in tears so disappointed just trying to keep it together for the sake of my kiddos and husband. Everytime my childen hit the pool.....everyone else exited lol I was hoping after the 3rd time this hapoen to us they wouldnt notice. In a positive light I said hmmm welp atleast me have the pool to ourselves now. The LAST straw was the day we were leaving and we went to breakfast (Which I had been trying to avoid) but my daughter wanted the waffles. So....the Syrup was not sitting out in the pour jars as they were previously. I went to ask the lady for syrup she rudely told me to come on and when I got there she says "Its right here where it says Syrup" and proceeded to point her finger across the writing as if I couldn't read. With of course a table full of ppl sitting right next to us I was embarrassed. Hard to even say anything because you dont want to come off as that "Mad black woman". But our money spends just as good as anyon elses. Not only do I dislike this hotel GREATLY. The area (I will not speak for the whole city) but this particular area all together is horrible. Also the toilet was close to stopped up the whole time here, one day it did stop up, I was left to plunge a toilet at a hotel lol nice. A/C did not work well. Dogs every where pooh and the noise.....HORRIBLE. I slept hardly any of the 4 nights here. Its like living in an apartment with the worse neighbors. I have tried to have a positive outlook, Ive had to readjust my emotions quite a few times but yea today the old lady over breakfast was just the last...
