Our experience at South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital was nothing short of phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, we were met with professionalism, warmth, and a level of care that truly stands out.
Every single staff member we encountered—from admissions to recovery—was kind, compassionate, and extremely knowledgeable. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and clearly well-managed, but what truly makes it special is the people.
I want to give a special shout-out to Kim and Michelle—two absolute angels in scrubs. These incredible women made us feel like family. Their warmth, confidence, and attentiveness were unmatched. They answered every question before we even had to ask, kept us informed and reassured, and brought a level of comfort and humor that truly changed our whole experience. Kim and Michelle are not just great at their jobs—they are deeply gifted human beings who go above and beyond. We will never forget their kindness.
The anesthesiologist was also outstanding. Calm, clear, and incredibly reassuring, they made sure my husband was fully informed and at ease. Their presence gave us complete peace of mind during surgery.
We also want to highlight Randy from Physical Therapy, who was there to help guide my husband through those first important steps after surgery. Randy’s patience, encouragement, and expertise made a huge impact. He didn’t just help physically—he brought a calm confidence that gave my husband the courage to take those first steps forward. We are truly grateful for his care and support during such a pivotal moment
Every person we met—from nurses to surgical staff—treated us with compassion and genuine care. This team works seamlessly together and creates an atmosphere of trust and comfort that you rarely find in a medical setting.
We are beyond thankful for the care we received and would confidently recommend South Texas Spine & Surgical Hospital to anyone needing surgery. The entire team is...
Read moreWell first off my mom had surgery over Thanksgiving holiday & the nurses & staff were very pleasant, personable, accommodating, & took good care. On Friday however, as my sister & I were resting on a blow up mattress in the very large private room (the couch & chair they have are horrible, probably to discourage staying over with your loved one) & watching a movie, the pm nurse came in & asked us which one of us will be staying... This was at 9pm mind you. We replied "both of us." Well, unbeknownst to us, as we were not told of any policy after 2 days of staying, that only 1 person is allowed to stay overnight. My sisters husband had already left for the day, we had 1 car, we lived 2 hrs away & my mother is 74. When we told the RN that both of us will be staying, her demeanor completely changed & about 20 min later "Mr charge nurse" Mark Anthony walked in & proceeded to be a rude, unprofessional asshat. We were told what the policy was again & I questioned why we were not told on admission what the policy was & why we were hearing about said policy 2 days later & why we should have to pay for their lack of information & professionalism. This charge nurse continued to be aggressive & unprofessional for at least 25 min before he left. We were not bothering anyone- my mom was sleeping & we were watching a movie on my computer with headphones. They even had a very low census since it was the holidays, so this added undue stress. I am very disappointed in this specialty hospital & the treatment not only of quiet family guests, but of the treatment of my mother by this charge nurse- at one point I had to tell him to step away from my mother as he was being so rude to someone- not only to an elder, but a patient whom just had surgery & is supposed to be recovering. Some of the nurses were great, along with the physicians & my mothers...
Read moreTo the Practice Manager/Director of the South Texas Spine & Surgical Clinic: your entire team of health care professionals is AMAZING!!! My father had surgery at your clinic on July 2, 2019. Every single person, from intake/reception, to nursing staff, to food service, to cleaning staff, to the doctors, were EXCEPTIONAL. They not only were professional, but compassionate, empathetic, dedicated, and they followed through on every request in a timely manner. I work in healthcare in Houston, and this was the most cohesive team I have ever experienced. I have to give special thanks to nurse Janet, who was patient, kind, funny, and always engaged with the most caring bedside manner. She went above and beyond what I have ever seen! Also, Svetlana was the most caring and sweet nurse that made my father and entire family feel welcome. She even went out of her way to say goodbye when she left for the day. The nursing staff even kept my mother’s food for her so she could stay with my father. I have to give thanks to the food service professionals in the kitchen as well. They provided fresh, restaurant quality meals that were delicious! Again, thanks to everyone at South Texas Spine. Your dedication and kindness will not be forgotten. Your pride in your work is very much...
