The service was great and I really wish I could remember the servers name. I attended the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club for our Office Christmas Party and setting up the whole evening was fairly simple and the staff helped us out a lot! Once I arrived and finally got to see the Dinning area they have one of the best views I've seen in awhile and luckily our party started right around sunset. When it comes to our food everything was very extravagant. My husband and I shared the Ahi Tuna Poki appetizer which was plenty for the both of us and this was MY FAVORITE of the food! Next, I ordered the filet and my husband had the lamb entree. I'm sad to say that neither of these dishes had much flavor. My husbands lamb received most of his flavor from the mashed potatoes and the flavor on my dish would be the drizzle of steak sauce which I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was made in house. My scallop potatoes were undercooked and they weren't seasoned very well but overall it was pretty decent. Dessert is a not her story!! I tried a little but of the two dishes ordered at the table and that was the mud pie and the bailey's creme brulee. I really don't think it would be fair to review the mud pie because that had a quite of few things on it that I just don't enjoy. But, THAT CREME BRULEE....this was amazing. Also, one of the best I've had in awhile!!! You taste the bailey's just enough and the sugar coating wasn't toasted too far to where it was bitter. Just perfection. Overall we had great service, they were very accommodating for our larger party and just a few things that would nitpick. It was definitely a great night out...
Read moreYour employee, Daniel Finch, needs to be re-trained, the beach was stated as a public beach. The hotel has individuals policing the beach and requesting them to move their towels and equipment further into high tide. The first time we were cordial and agreed to do so from the first employee as we weren't staying at the hotel. From which point, Daniel, the second employee approaches my wife and mother and proceeds to tell us we need to move our towels and personal items further into the water. I let him know that we were informed the first time and don't understand why we have to move further into the water. He states that it's the hotel policy, and I mention that there must be some sort of miscommunication considering that we were already told once.||Confused, Daniel Finch goes to ask his colleague what happened. The colleague and him meet up with us and Daniel tells us we can either move further down away from the hotel or more forward into the water. I let him know that clearly there's miscommunication on their part as we were told this before. The first employee remained quiet, and Daniel says, "Oh there's no miscommunication on my part". From which point I mention that this was stated as a public beach, and he mentions that the line from high tide is private property (keep in mind we had already moved out personal items and towel the first time). I mention to him that the beach is public and not private property, it's a creation of nature. Daniel Finch proceeds to tell me, "This is private property, do YOU OWN PRIVATE PROPERTY?" I mentioned to him I own several. Retrain your employees and do better La Jolla Beach &...
