One of the worst places my parents, siblings and I have been. Let me explain why. I’m from Colorado, flew all the way to celebrate my dad’s birthday (my parents don’t speak English). At the moment of making a reservation everything seemed great and the person who helped me make the reservation was pretty friendly. As soon as I get to the restaurant, the lady who supposed to have our table ready for us states she’s unsure there’s enough place, she starts being racist toward me and my family without any reason. I’m telling her my parents are older and are cold to dine outside and ask if we could dine in, otherwise we might need to leave, she says there’s no room inside and that we should leave because there’s no room for us. Everything she said was in a rude manner, condescending and racist manner. I decide to tell my parents (a little) of what happened and we decide to leave. She then states there’s space (still outside) but that it’s warm because if the heaters. Again, she shows us our table and stills pretty rude. The waitress seems rude as well, and the only person who was nice was a bilingual guy (helping the waitress). This guy treated us nice and with humanity.
At the moment I made the reservation, I called beforehand to let them know it’s my dad’s birthday and so please bring something for my dad’s birthday (they forgot!) I had to explain them why we were there and what to bring.
It was a great place to dine, the food was delicious, this guy was extremely nice, but the waitress, and the lady who is supposedly to be the image of the restaurant treated me and my family with so much disrespect. Of course I didn’t tell my parents how disrespectful she behaved because of such occasion. Instead of calling out the manager I decided to write a review. It seems like this is a racist restaurant and the people who work there (although not all of them) have no experience whatsoever speaking to people who don’t speak English (even when I, and my siblings spoke English to them the whole time). I’d never take my parents or any friends to this place again. We had a good time, but I was just shocked at the disrespect from the workers and how bad they are at supplying our needs. Again, my family had a great time but I didn’t say a thing to my parents, otherwise I would totally have called...
Read moreThe expected details were missed...but management was gracious in asking how our experience was. I would come back for another try.
My girlfriend and I go out every week for Date Night. It was my turn to find a spot and I came upon Piatti. Reviews were good and pictures on Google looked tasty. I was most excited to have the Linguine.
Parking is limited, I rounded the block 3 times to find a spot (normal for being so close to the beach so no big deal). The restaurant was busy and full of patrons, made me think this must be a great restaurant. We were 20 minutes late for our online reservation but still, we were sat down immediately. Nice!
Very nice appearance inside. Ambient lighting and open table setup. Table for 2 was a good size as we had more than enough space for our appetizer and two entrees.
We ordered the Mushroom Rotolo and the Seafood Linguine. But when the server came with our food, he dumped the plates on our table and ran off back to the kitchen. Parmesan? Red Pepper Flakes? Not a chance to ask (but should we have to ask?)…
The server to the table next to us was the closest so I called him over and asked if we could have parmesan and red pepper flakes. He confirmed and said he would be right back. Guess again… I looked over and I could see him moving other plates around in the kitchen.
Minutes pass and finally our order taker noticed that we had our food, but obviously were not eating… She asked how things were and I asked again for Parmesan and Red Pepper Flakes. I was annoyed that our food was getting cold and would not melt the Parmesan.
Ultimately the food at Piatti disappointed. My girlfriend and I agreed that we liked Adriano Enoteca and Barbusa better for service and for taste.
Before we got our bill, Colin came by and asked how our evening was. I told him that honestly the night did not meet my expectations. He was very gracious and attentively listened to our feedback on the service and food. He offered complimentary Tiramisu dessert. We tipped our server well and thanked Colin again on...
Read moreWhat nonsense is this even!? I am from Europe. I have been all over Italy two dozen times... this food was terrible! -- I had to look up who own this crappy place and the owner is some American dude called Tim Harmon. He has Americanized his entire menu I guess. I have never tasted such bland food - Italians would cry real tears if they tried this. I expected a bit more from such a Restaurant and especially for the price!
We picked up the food to go... The Pizza was absolutely NOT Italian anything. NIENTE! No Italian dough nor cooked in a wood burning oven. Very very yeasty tasting dough - was so yeasty that it tasted like Hefeweizen Beer. 🤦🏻♀️ They are definitely not using anything like Caputo flour. Also, $20 of literally a miniature Pizza? 😂 It was maybe 8". What a joke.
The pasta with Chicken and Gorgonzola was such a disappointment as well. Very little flavor. No Gorgonzola cheese in sight. Absolutely no seasoning, and Chicken was tasteless (didn't even have any salt on it). Cannelloni - look at the picture! 😂 Zero flavor. Some tomato puree and heavy cream, and that's all. No herbs, no nothing.
Owners seem to be the greedy dishonest kind - the portions were tiny. A hand full of pasta maybe and I had three tiny pieces of cut up chicken in my dish. I don't like greed and people who try to rip you off. It's generally a turn off for me with everything . I don't mind paying money for something really good. But not for a handful of crappy tasting pasta. You're not going to run out of business if you add two more pieces of chicken to it and one more spoon of Pasta. I so will send any friends or family the other way - not to this sad place.
Do yourself a favor if you want authentic and tasty Italian food and go elsewhere. There are other Italian Restaurants in the area that actually serve fantastic food. I have no idea who cooked this nonsense and where that " chef" is from.
I have no clue where the positive reviews...
