This experience is not about the food because the food is OK. This is about the customer service. I had a call in order. Paid for my order at 12:04 pm since it is a drive thru only I was asked to park at a spot that they picked and directed me to. So I parked. As I waited I see customers that came in after me get there orders no problem. So I thought they thought the same thing I did and called there order in so there would be less of a wait. Cool. But ever car after just kept getting there orders and mine still hadn’t came.. So I finally decided to go in to see what’s going on with my order. It’s now been 30 minutes. I Walk in the guy that cashed me out remembered me and asked what I needed I said my order he was like you haven’t gotten it I said no. Then he went to the back and brought it to me. So it was just sitting there. So I asked to talk to the supervisor. which is an older gentleman with glasses that came to talk to me. And I told him what happened his answers were “I’m sorry” “I don’t know what to say” and my favorite one was “you came during a time we got busy” come on sir. Those answers say, you knew there was a mistake on your part and you tried to justify it by saying I came during a busy time. La Fonda has been in business long enough to know how to manage there business in these kinda situations. If not then maybe it’s that supervisors fault and La Fonda should look into replacing him. Drove from kyle to san Marcos and when I got there j paid for my food and the guy asked me what vehicle I'm in so I told him and he said ok I'll take out to u. Waited 30 min and nothing. Asked a lady that came out to hand out orders where my order was.t and she took my name and I told her what I had ordered . She said ur order has been sitting there and no one knew who it belonged to. So my order was just sitting there for at least 20 min Then she brings out to me and forgets my tea. We finally get our drinks and drive off. My daughter looks in bag to get food and realize we r short 1 taco. She went back ask for taco and was told wasn't charged for it and wouldn't even give a free taco for their mistake first for not taking order correctly and i repeated my order 2nd waiting 20 min on a call in order and 3rd for the guy that took my payment acting like he didn't know where or who the order belonged to . If u have a complaint at any restaurant for a customer to be happy offer them something. Its always done. But looks like 1 bacon egg bean taco was to much of a profit for them to loose. They leave like 3 napkins per table instead of proper dispensers or even a paper towel roll as I've seen at other seafood places (crab). The bathroom smelled worse than the truck stop one down the street... But the worst of it had to be the food. I got a del patron tostada and it tastes like straight salsa inglesa. Waaay over seasoned and anyone that took a bite couldn't even pretend to go for the second. The Baja fish tacos were not seasoned and loaded with condiments. Condiments are not a replacement for basic seasoning like SALT or PEPPER. The cherry on top was that the wait staff kept asking me if the food was alright and were unphased with a very honest no. They even asked me if I'd like to take order some drinks for the road. I can sincerely say that was a first. I never write reviews but this place earned it.
