Spudnuts and Bagels — Restaurant in Santa Barbara

I lived in Santa Barbara years ago and this was my favorite spot for my morning coffee and bagel. The owner literally is the sweetest lady and I haven’t seen her for like 5 years, but I still think about how welcoming she was to me.

I love chive cream cheese and she literally went out of her way to get fresh chives for me. At the time, I was going through a rough patch and this little donut shop felt like a safe haven. Being able to stop here for ten minutes every morning, grab coffee and talk to the owner while she made my food with love was very comforting. The bagels are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside and donuts are delicious too.

Today is our last day in Santa Barbara after living here for two years. This location Spudnuts has been our favorite breakfast place. We love ordering the Ham, Egg, and Cheese breakfast sandwich on a Jalapeño and Cheddar Bagel. For Donuts we love to order the Chocolate with M&M’s and a Plain Glazed Donut. The owner, Joy is always such a pleasure to see and talk to as well as Rodolfo, one of our favorite employees! We will miss this Donut Shop and the love & kindness they shared with us. Best Bakery in Santa Barbara. Donuts remind me of Krispy Kreme but better. Imagine a Krispy Kreme donut without the grease...they melt in your mouth. If I had to leave Santa Barbara I would dream about this Donut Shop everyday until my return. I've traveled the USA and I've never had the perfect donut until I found Joy and Mama's place. I think you guys should change your name because I've been to the other Spudnuts and IT IS DEFINITELY INEXPLICABLY NOT THE SAME!!!!
