In a short sentence, you get what you pay for. I booked this place as a last-minute reservation for a funeral that I had to attend to, and was looking to save as much possible since my flights cost so much. when I arrived, I found that the sheets were dirty from the previous guest, and the TV was damaged and did not work along with the furniture being damaged. When booking, I read that there was a free breakfast, which is honestly one of the bigger factors as to why I didn't book with Holiday Inn express since there was a larger price difference between the two and they both offered free breakfast. Only to find that this hotel's "free breakfast" is some coffee that's all out of you don't get there by 7:30AM, packet oatmeal and some bite size muffins. You have to go down in order to get fresh towels and basically end up servicing the room yourself. These defects aside, the price and location is decent because it is a pretty spacious room and having the kitchen space is very convenient. The bathroom has good water pressure and has your basic toiletries. One of the big reasons why I won't be returning is because as I was traveling home, I found that I had several bedbug bites. I regret not booking with Holiday Inn, as I usually do because I'd rather pay the extra money and have an actual breakfast, room service, and peace of mind of knowing that I won't come home with bites. This stay offered the basic necessities for the purpose I needed this time. I learned my lesson and will bite the bullet next time.

Please read this review!! We were here for work. We checked in a little 4pm. We got into the room and there were no sheets or bedding on the beds, along with no towels. I called the front desk and she said they were still doing laundry. I wasn’t going to take a shower immediately or take a nap, so it didn’t really matter. It would have been nice to know in advance. We had the studio with the kitchenette, but there was NOTHING. It was supposed to come with plates, bowls, utensils, pots, and pans. The picture on the wall had broken glass and had stains all over the glass. All of this would have been ok if I didn’t look at the nasty stains on the bed skirt. I am not sure what it was, but it looked fresh and definitely not food....we went to the front desk to talk to the lady up front and because they were sold out, there was nothing they could do. The people that were walking around the hotel in gave me a very uneasy feeling. Based on the cost of the hotel, it made sense. Sketchy people everywhere. I should have checked the reviews before arriving (work booked the hotel based on location to jobsite). If I read them, we would not have stayed there. Thank goodness it was booked through Expedia and we got a refund. Take this review from someone who never leaves a review. I would hate for someone to actually waste money on a place like this! Unsafe, unsanitary, JUST HORRIBLE!!!

I would give this place zero stars if possible. The room we were put in has a broken electrical switch which flickered all night. The other occupants are very shady and I wouldn't be comfortable here without my husband. Our room was disgusting and I don't think it has been cleaned in a while. (Housekeeping told us that she didn't even think they were renting this room because of the electrical outlet) Crumbs everywhere, animal droppings under the sink. No trashcan. When we asked to switch rooms, the overnight staff member sent us to a room that had literally been trashed... bed in the middle of the floor, dresser drawers pulled out and on the floor, fridge left open, etc. Unfortunately that was their last vacant room, so we had to return to our original. The front desk clerk assured me the manager would refund our money in the morning. In the morning. They asked that we call Expedia and they would approve a full refund when Expedia called them, however when Expedia called them they only approved 50% of what they told us. The floor is sticky, we can't even stand on the floor without shoes. The comforter has stains all over it. Bottom line, DO NOT stay here. Don't get fooled by the good rate like we did. You get way less than what you pay for! (All photos taken within moments of our arrival)

The location is convenient for shopping/groceries but that is the only positive. On one occasion a man tried to push his way into my room. On another occasion a pimp and a hooker wanted access to my room and on a third occasion somebody actually opened my door - luckily I had the latch engaged. Very unsafe area due to the clientele who do drugs and stay up having extremely loud and disgustingly vile sex for multiple days on end. ||Don't bother trying to communicate with Jaime the manager or Michelle the recovering basket case as you will only be met with insinuations, raised voices/yelling and overall rudeness, abuse and argumentative communication skills akin to 13 year old girls. I have never experienced such poor customer service/relations in any business I have ever patronized - Sheriff deputies in the county jail are more hospitable than the female staff at this location.||Over the course of many months the cleaning staff never ONCE cleaned my room. Jaime the manager told me I had to clean my own room before the cleaners could clean it (stupid power-games) The latch housing on the door was broken from the start and never got replaced. The latch would malfunction and on two different occasions I had to climb in through my own window as there was no staff available to help me get back in my room. Jaime the manager threatened to charge me for breaking the screen on the window which occured due to her negligence of the safety latch on the door malfunctioning repeatedly. ||I had a 5 gallon fish tank because I was told that ESA is 'pet friendly' but that is a lie. ESA is NOT pet friendly. Jaime forced me to give up my fish and my aquarium under threat of eviction - it broke my heart to have to give up my fish and aquarium. Meanwhile dogs and cats are free to urinate and defecate all over the beds and carpets - But I couldnt have a Betta in a tiny aquarium. ||Management and staff at this location have psychological and emotional issues that revolve around power, control, and abuse of clientele/guests. After being threatened multiple times and treated like an abused foster child by Jaime the manager and Michelle the walking trainwreck I decided to take my money elsewhere. I would suggest you pass on ESA Santa Rosa South (and North) and spend your money elsewhere at an establishment that actually appreciates and respects their guests and clientele. ||The walls, floors and ceiling are INCREDIBLY THIN so you can hear conversations and physically feel people having sex in the rooms...

Omg, do not stay here, run, don’t walk, as fast as you can from this place.||||I never review the hotels I stay at but I felt I needed to do this because this hotel is just flat out not livable. SMH, terrible service, disgusting rooms, unsafe area to boot. ||||First, this hotel has over 100 rooms, but the parking lot had like less than 20 cars. Pulling into the lot, I already was regretting I booked this place. But when I tried to check in at 2;15pm, I was told check ins can only be done after 3pm. The hotel is basically empty but they’re telling me no rooms are available (more on this later).||||Came back at 3pm checked in, good lord, the room had this nasty smell, and there were literally 20+ flies just buzzing in the room. It felt like someone had died in the room. Seeing this disgusting room, I decided my family can’t stay here, so I went to the front desk to try change rooms. The clerk was there with someone from housekeeping. When I asked to change rooms, they both kinda gave me a dismissive cackle and said all available rooms are booked already. Then the housekeeper basically admitted that they cannot clean all the rooms because they are short staffed and the hotel is only selling a portion of the full inventory of rooms. So they tell people no more rooms available but in reality they’re only selling a smaller portion of the full inventory due poor management of their staff. ||||The hotel in general is just dirty. It’s an old hotel that probably used to be a motel 6 or something like it. Got a new name but didn’t even bother to put lipstick on this pig. ||||I mean would it be too much to ask housekeeping to just spray some fabreez or air freshener to make it not so stinky? The room honestly smelled like last month’s feet and ass. Just flat out gross.||||The clerk also didn’t seem like he cared much. I decided I could not let my family stay here at all (my kids had asked me if they could sleep in the car instead because it was so nasty). I went to front desk again but this time I ask for cancellation and refund. The clerk didn’t even try to convince me to stay or look for an alternative solution for me. He was just like yep ok no problem, as if this is not the first time he’s dealt with this kind of issue with the hotel. ||||Bottom line, if you value your health, your safety, and sanity, DO NOT book this place. My kids have PTSD from just being there...

I'm having horrible customer service experience with Extended Stay America Santa Rosa South. I booked a queen suite from Wednesday 11/27/19-Saturday 11/30/19 through booking.com and I prepaid for the room. After I made the reservation I called to confirm with the front desk if it would be okay to check in after 12am because I was driving up from Los Angeles, CA and wouldn't arrive till late in the am hours. The employee told me to just call the day of & let the front desk know that they could check me in over the phone around 11pm and when I arrive to just use the white call phone outside the office so the employee could give me the keys. I called again today, Wed 11/27 I spoke with the front desk again to confirm that this was okay and she said it would be fine, she would make a note for it for the night shift, and to just call at 11pm today to check in on phone. I called around 11pm as I was told, and the night front desk staff LUCY, said I could not do that. I informed her that I called when I made the reservation and called today and two other front desk employees told me it would be fine. She started to be real rude and said it didn't matter if I paid for the room till Saturday that after midnight it is a new day and she won't check me in. I pleaded with her to please have some compassion! I'm coming from Los Angeles and I have my three almost 4 year old son who has AUTISM with me. She did not care if my son, who is disabled, and I would have no where to go to for the night. Either the two other employees were taught a different policy or LUCY was taught a different one because none of this adds up! Employees should be on the same page regarding policies and how to treat paying customers with RESPECT. LUCY was so horrible and condescending to me!!! I'm here so upset, crying because now my son and I have no where to go when our room is already paid for and empty. It's not okay for your customers to be treated this way and for staff members to be so rude and cold to customers. GET ON THE SAME PAGE REGARDING POLICIES. Hoping that the manager can help me out tomorrow morning. Either way I filed a complaint and won't stop addressing this till the situation is resolved. Such a great way to start off the...
