From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm welcome by Shorty and Scott, who are not only incredibly knowledgeable but also bring a personal, heartfelt touch to the experience. They have an inspiring story of how they met and started this distillery, which adds even more charm to the visit.
The tasting room is beautifully designed, with super cool decor that blends rustic and modern vibes seamlessly. It’s a perfect reflection of their attention to detail and passion for what they do.
And the spirits? Incredible. Every single one I tasted was top-notch, but the whiskey and barrel-aged gin were absolute standouts for me. They’ve truly mastered their craft, and it shows in every sip.

Quite the knowledgeable, passionate, and patient man. Gail welcomed us back to the tasting and shared her journey of creating Elk Fence Distillery. We learned the provenance of the glass bottles and the solid wood bar. My friend was familiar with the distillery so we had a great time doing a taste comparison of some of the offerings.
The vodka is smooth and crisp. My favorite was the juniper gin. I never thought I’d sip a gin. My friend’s favorite was the barrel-aged gin. Another spirit that I’ve never had before! The whiskey is rich and complex, with flavors of oak.

We got a tour of their spotless facility where they make their award winning gin, vodka, and whiskey, then tasted all three in their really sweet little tasting room. Usually I prefer vodka (which was really good btw, more flavorful than some of the more mainstream vodkas out there) but their gin convinced me to expand my tastebuds a bit.
