Not the first time the deli employees completely ignore me & refuse to acknowledge me. Like I told the manager, I don’t know if it’s that I’m Latina or that I look young but I expect the same customer service, treatment and respect they give to any other patron. I am honestly disgusted with the way I was treated. I stood there while two employees stood not even 2 feet away from me, wrapping meets and chit chatting amongst themselves. They both make eye contact with me, keep looking over at me, chatting amongst themselves. Eventually, I get tired of having to wait to be greeted or for any sort of communication; “I’ll be right with you” etc etc and I say loudly “so… neither of you is going to speak to me? And just leave me standing here”. No apology. I ask my question, he didn’t have the answer. I bump into another employee, voice my complaint. I overhear the deli employees telling the person I just complained to- “I was busy doing something”. Umm… you were staring right at me. Kept chit chatting with your coworker. Both of you refused to speak to me. Or say “one moment”. You can multi-task to speak to your coworker but can’t speak to a customer, that you’re BOTH completely ignoring. It takes two seconds to say “I’ll be right with you.” I don’t know any business that makes the customer wait. I thought it was address the customers needs & then get back to whatever you’re doing. The fact I overheard them saying “we were busy” is the reason why I don’t shop here myself and only do instacart. It shows they have no respect for me at all. Maybe they need training in customer service skills. Not sure. But this isn’t the first time. The first time they took care of a white gentlemen who had 4 different deli orders. There were FOUR deli employees in total. They ALL ignored my boyfriend and I while we stood there for 10 minutes- as they worked together to give this gentleman the special treatment. The point of having FOUR employees at a deli is to take care of as many customers as possible, at a time. Is it not? So why did 4 employees refuse to acknowledge my boyfriend and I and left us standing by the side for 10-15 minutes? These people will look you dead in the eye but treat you like you’re invisible. It’s not a coincidence & im not reading into anything. They hire racist people here. My boyfriend is not crazy either. This isn’t the first time. We both felt the cold shoulder from these people. Staring at us but refusing to acknowledge us. It’s as if they’re giving us the worst service possible, purposely. I see the effort with the other customers ??????? I’m getting very...

I'm not the type to write online reviews, this is my first Google review ever, but Mackenzie (?spelling, sorry) deserves this shout out.
This past Saturday 6/12/21, I'm on my way to my mother's surprise 60th birthday party. I have a large gold 6 and 0 balloon I'd purchased online and had coordinated in advance with the Party City (across the street) to have filled the morning of her surprise party.
I arrive at the Party City and they are unable to meet their commitment despite my reservation. Furthermore, they were rude and dismissive of the situation. So now in a rush to find a solution, and frustrated with my experience at Party City, I frantically call the nearest location I surmise might have a helium tank.
I call this Stop & Shop, and Mackenzie in the Floral Department, kindly and professionally picks up. I give her the quick rundown of my situation and she tells me she isn't positive they have a 6 and a 0 balloon, but that she'd take a look if I could hold on the line briefly. I tell her I'm in such a rush, already in the car nearby, and that I'd be driving over in case they do have the balloons I'm looking for.
Two minutes later, I pull up to this Stop & Shop, walk in around the corner to the Floral Department, and there's Mackenzie, 6 balloon already inflated and tied, 0 balloon nearly done, she's just adding the matching ribbon tail and tethering clips --- huge sigh of relief
I make it to the birthday venue with just enough time to hang the balloons, hang a banner, and corral all the guests for the surprise.
It went great -- surprise saved!! -- and all because of Mackenzie's attentive response, kind assistance, and quick customer service.
Thanks...
Read moreI wrote a review before for poor service & I removed it because I figure one employee shouldn't be responsible for a poor reputation. But they've since exceeded that limit. First review was for a manager blocking anyone entering the store at 8:50 because they closed at 9. Tonight at 8:30 came to grab deli meat for my daughter & was ignored by the men at the slicers until I asked if they were closed. Two said yes nicely, the third had a smug smile saying "yup 8:30" .. thinking i mustve arrived extra late, i glanced at my phone, it was 8:34. It's not so much the fact that they close the deli early (stupid IMO) it was more the sheer satisfaction he got for turning us away. I recommend you go elsewhere. I would sometimes go in a pinch but in reality their produce section always smells, produce is always near expiration that I won't even look at it now. I've gotten potatoes that give gummy results when cooked. Corn that's not near ripe. Strawberries hard pass, mushy/moldy. Their meat section always smells foul and has juices leaked all over the packages. This overpriced store isn't worth anyone's business especially with their lack of customer service and rude ettiquite, they dont care who they hire. Not to mention the gamble you take driving out of your way to go here if you'll be allowed in or not. Walmart's getting my business tonight. However, Malden and Revere stop and shop are your best bet if you need to use them, I've never had a problem there. Market Basket, as always, is #1, and honestly both Revere & Lynn locations are 12 min or less away from this stop n shop, so if closing time isn't an issue, I say...
