Just a few quick lines. The hotel is part of a new breed of hotels that carry the name of the elite names in travel like Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and IHG. It is your barebones room, but comes with all of the essentials like plenty of pillows on the beds, lots of towels in the bathroom, furniture that has a clean and contemporary look (think IKEA), a clean lobby and rooms, etc. ||What set this property apart for me were the three people with whom I interacted before and during my stay. I only remember the name of one of them, because she answered a call before my visit and the morning of the departure and provided her name. It was Jackie or Jacquie -- forgive the spelling. Such a warm tone to her voice, while also being very helpful and professional. Both the gentleman who checked me in around 6PM on June 2 and the lady that helped me with check-out and the shuttle ride were so welcoming and engaging. ||Customer service is what is going to start REALLY defining the brands from one another. Think of going to a QuikTrip vs. the Shell station down the road. You know at one of them, you are going to be greeted and helped with anything you might need. So, even a brand like Spark can garner a loyal fan base if hiring the best and paying them accordingly is part of their model. ||A quick note. The charge you are going to see authorized says COMFORT INN AND SUITES, which was confusing and made me think I double booked with another property. This property was formerly a COMFORT INN AND SUITES which explains that. When you order LYFT and UBER, you will also need to put in (for now until corrected), COMFORT INN AND SUITES. Spark at the Savannah Airport did not show up and it created some issues for me...
Read morePros: Customer service was great. The guy at the front desk checked me in really quick. Process was really simple. The hotel was clean and I’ve seen staff all over the hotel cleaning during the day. The room was clean and neat. Bathroom was very clean and the room was very quiet. Bed and pillows were comfortable for the most part. The room was very spacious and the things they had in the corner pantry were pretty nice. When I checked out the two younger ladies were really sweet and bubbly and through out the stay staff always spoke when walking by. I kept the dnd sign on my door for the entire week, never had anyone bother me. The staff gets a full 5 stars from me.
Cons: My room had mold above the ac and in the tub which was something I didn’t notice at first, due to me being a bit tired when I first made it. Also for the wifi, it’s a bit spotty but they had another paid option for better wifi. If you are not already a Hilton honors member you will be required to make an account or else you have to pay. The pillows are soft but it’s like they go flat once you lay down. Some of them were more comfortable than others so that’s not a huge issue to me. The lights on my bed and the desk lamp did not work and the tv would shut off sometimes when trying to change channels or in the middle of shows. It also would freeze and just stay stuck like that. Wasn’t the worst, just could’ve been better. I noticed later into my stay that the fridge was not cold, not even in the slightest. The air conditioning stopped blowing as cold for a few hours but eventually went back to being cold so once again not a big deal. Overall I don’t think it is somewhere I would be...
Read moreI knew upfront this wasn't a Ritz, but it was way worse than I had even expected. Upon arrival, I wait in line to get checked in because the front desk concierge had disappeared for a while. I personally waited probably 10mins. I got into the room, turned down the A/C, checked it out. The toilet had stains where the cover of the tank sat on the tank itself. The tub stopper was rusted, and you could see where the tub had leaked and damaged the drywall but it was patched poorly. The bathroom light had this disgusting green color in the bottom half of it that came from who knows what. Water damage? At this point, I wouldn't stay again, but it wasn't worth packing back up to go across the street to TRU. So, I go to supper and come back, and the A/C wasn't on, but it was still 74 in the room. The A/C would just cut in and out, unable to maintain the temperature I set it at. Next day, I get back into the room to find the hall light went out and room service didn't come in. Then the manager, Darrel, asks how my stay is. I outline all this stuff to him. 5mins later, I'm about to shower, and I hear a violent banging on the door. Darrel apparently has come to check the A/C. Didn't acknowledge the other stuff. You can imagine how jolting that would be for someone who doesn't have pants on. I'll spare you the details. Long story short, there are a lot of better hotels for just $20 more in the area, and you get what you pay for....
