Our server was Kristi. People were calling her Christina. First time me and my family visited the restaurant. We waited 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged by the waitress. When she came to the table, she dropped 4 straws down and said “what do you want to drink”. We never once got greeted. Never once introduced herself. When she brought out drinks back, 5 minutes later, she brought the wrong drinks. Offered to let me keep it and wouldn’t be charged for it. I politely said no thanks & asked for what I ordered. The one drink I ordered, got spilt all over the table, all over my arms, and on everyone’s silverware set. I had to get up and go get napkins out of the bathroom becaue she took forever to get some. Then when she finally came back, I received only 2. And wouldn’t even bring us new silverware sets. Sad thing is, she never once asked to see my ID nor the other persons ID when we ordered our drinks. We waited another 10 min before we were asked what we wanted to eat. FINALLY, after getting our food, ketchup and ranch were asked to be brought out.. I had to walk up to the salad bar to get the ranch and to the bar for ketchup and she was too busy talking to the cooks through the window and wasn’t worried about taking care of one of the three tables she had. When I finally received ketchup, the bottle was pretty much empty. I myself am I server. And never have i seen anything like the way she acted.. She miss understood the order of the food and messed one plate up. She got the right side, said it would be no charge to fix it. Got my bill, not only was I charged for her mess up with the sides, but she also tried charging me with the drinks I did not even order.! I again walked to the bar to ask for the manager and she comes around the corner demanding the check and payment. I bluntly told her no, that it was for her manager.. She rolls her eyes and gasps and turns away. The manager was told everything. Took the drinks and the extra charge off. Never once offered a discount for the inconvience. Or offered me anything to fix the situation.. being a server, I know how much of a pain some customers can be. But when your waiter is rude as all get out, theres no excuse. The food was AMAZING. Very hot(which as it should have been, considering the wait time, when they weren’t even busy) the salad bar was great. Even though the lettuce was 90 percent brown. And I had to ask a lady twice to bring more salad dressing out because it was empty. And she looked at me like I was crazy. All in all, the bartender was probably the ONLY one with decency and respect. Me and my family will never come back to this location. Our first and last time. Thanks to...
Read moreFirst, I want to clarify that staffing issues are a management issue, not a staff issue. That said, the staff was incredibly overwhelmed. We waited nearly ten minutes alone at the door before being seated. Our server tried hard to stay on top of things, but it was extremely hard.
Cons: Table was very wet when we were sat, bench included. Menus were stuck to the wet tabletop. We had to dry it ourselves with our silverware napkins, and my pants were damp when I left.
My fried fish entree was undercooked and cold. I feel like the kitchen was as understaffed as the rest, so I let it go and ate my fries. Our server did bring some extra fries and seemed frustrated that the food wasn't out in the right order. I heard the next table over being apologized to for a food mix-up as well.
A light bulb in the lamp at our table was flickering erratically. I have a seizure disorder and nearly had to leave. Our server ended up unscrewing the bulb and we ate in a dim area, which is better than having a seizure at dinner.
Pros: Salad bar was nice and maintained properly. That's impressive as understaffed as they were.
Other than wet table the place was clean.
Server was trying very hard to make up for the various issues.
I heard a waiter training a new server and he sounded very encouraging and supportive. He was sending a nervous newbie to get drink orders and added, "I trust you to get the orders, you can do this" in a really encouraging tone. I love that.
I feel like this place can get better... but I was a bit disappointed and ended up eating salad and fries instead...
Read moreWe travel north and south on I-95 often throughout the year. The Savannah/Pooler exits are good stopping points for us and many choices of restaurants. This Ruby Tuesday is NOT the place to stop, EVER, no matter how hungry. Upon entry you are met with a funky unpleasant odor. From experience, this is usually due to carpeting that hasn't been cleaned in a very long time & general uncleanliness. Due to time constraints, we decided to stay and try to ignore it. Even though the restaurant was not busy (mid afternoon, after typical lunch) and only had about five tables occupied, it took way too long for the server to come to our table (about 5-7 minutes). Although she was pleasant, she only checked back once before she brought the check. The worst was the salad bar! There were seven container that were just about empty, where you could see the bottom, with about 1-2 servings of product. I could not believe, when the salad bar attendant did bring replenishment, she did not rotate the food items, using a FIFO method! Instead she would just dump new on top of the old. The floor in front of the salad bar was incredibly sticky and pieces of food scattered throughout. Someone did spot sweep at one point, but it never got mopped. A terrible experience and reveals a lack of good management with sound training and expectations for the staff. My last regret: I didn't take...
