I have stayed in many hotels and motels. Depending on the stay I might stay in whatever fits from a 2 star to 4 star resort- not too many 5 stars. I have stayed at Travelodge many times, but also spent a week in a penthouse in Vegas. My point is I don't have high expectations, but expect what I pay for, what is advertised, and to be treated with respect. This place is a run down motel you would find in a slum. The door led right to the street. Best of all, the parking is non-existent. We parked in a spot and parked a little on the the very small sidewalk, the women that works here BERATED- I am not exaggerating she was absolutely disrespectful to both of us - we walked in to ask for ice and they said to go buy it at 7-11 and yelled at us for "parking my car over into one of her spots" It was the side walk- how can you own the sidewalk? She made us move the car a block away to what seemed to be an abandoned house's driveway. Later that night, someone was parked on the sidewalk- so she told them that was a spot. No Ice, no parking and the room is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. The blanket was 50 years old and as thin as a paper towel. All night someone walked up and back and up and back and it was VERY loud so I got like 2 hours sleep for my 13 hour drive back to Chicago- the point of a hotel is to sleep and we even went back at 9 PM to get extra sleep. I never write reviews but after my 13 hour drive I mustered the energy to write this to save others the pain of staying here. The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch; the photos online are staged- one is literally photoshopped to show a part of the MOTEL that does not exist., because what we walked into was nothing short of a horror show. Plus when I went to leave no one was in the office and I had a 13 hour drive. There are no swipes, just an old key that you have to return- my neighbor left hers in the door all night and there were a group of guys that appeared to be gang members hanging out all night. I was told to leave my key in an opened mailbox- wow that is not safe. I wouldn’t wish this place on my...

Read moreYou know how when you pull up to a place, especially at night, and you're unsure if it's going to be a great spot? That's what happened to me. At first I was a little unsure, but our experience was really nice. The staff is friendly. Check in and check out was a breeze. Our room was right outside the pool area. I loved having chairs outside our door so you could sit and chat, or in my case read a book. The pool isn't large, but the folks I hung out with who's children were using the pool loved it. I liked sitting in the chairs around the pool reading and relaxing before we started our day of fun on the beach. This is not a fancy beach hotel. So if you go in expecting large rooms and fancy bedding and a free breakfast, you're going to be sad. BUT if you want a clean and safe room to lay your head down after fun at the beach, you found your spot. I LOVED that it was 2 blocks from the Boardwalk and beach. Easily walkable to all the fun. We parked our car on the street and with the parking pass we were given at check in, we didn't have to move until it was time to check out. Everything you would want was in walking distance. Our trip was short, but I know if/when we decide to go back to Seaside, we're going to stay here. Nice people staying there. The staff was lovely and you can't beat...
