Last night I went in to Riggers with a friend of mine who I've been friends with for nearly 35 years. As we sat down, the bartender, Billy, automatically gave her a beer because she frequents the place. I asked for a draft beer. I then asked if he could turn on the Mets game. He first said "No, the Mets suck" That may well be but I'm a paying customer and the TV is there for the entertainment of the patrons. He then told me someone was watching the Yankees game. I noticed that the gentleman he was referring to had no interest in the game and I asked the gentleman if he minded. The guy said he didn't mind since the yanYank game was a blowout. The bartender still refused. After the Yankees ended I noticed the bartender changed the channel to cartoons. I asked very politely if he could attend least flash to the Mets so I can see the score. That's when he told me specifically "No, and I don't want you here. Finish your drink and leave" I asked him why. "Because I don't like you" were his exact words. It's a good thing I had my phone so I recorded it. I said okay and I left with the girl I came in with. Then she revealed to me that the bartender had a thing for her and was mad that I was there with her. I am handicapped and was treated extremely rudely. Read moreAlthough the staff here was amazing, friendly, and could put together some good drinks the crew that lingers around isn't the kindest. Came out for a friend's 21st birthday and another girly was out with her dad here and did nothing but belittle and straight out be rude to us simply because we weren't regulars. As well made a big scene with her daddy about the pool tables as if we were magically to know how they were handled at the bar without being told by anyone. Just straight stereotypical bully " I was cool in high-school" energy...
Read moreAugust 2022.. we went in the afternoon to shoot pool and get a bite.. but they were doing some work in the back.. painting and woodwork, so we didnt even ask about food. I'm not even sure they serve food actually.
But it was a nice time. Despite the pool equipment being worn, we got our fix. we went to the next block and ate at Montes Cafe, which was very clean and had great Mexican food.
