I can forgive the tiny parking lot and excessive noise (both of the road and the drugged-up residents who stumbled around yelling from 2-4AM both nights of my stay) because I thought I knew what I was getting for the cheap price. But my interactions with the rude woman at the desk and the unhelpful customer service reps at RLH Corporation completely soured my experience and I will never book a room with America's Best Value Inn or RHL ever again.||Upon checking in, I was told by the woman at the desk I had two rooms booked under my name. I tried to explain to her that since it was only me checking in, there must be some kind of error. She refused to acknowledge this and unhelpfully kept telling me to "call the hotel." I double-checked my email's trash and spam folders and only found a receipt for the one room I booked. When I showed her this she told me only I could cancel the room. I then found the guest inquiry form on RLH's website and explained what happened. They emailed back my original reservation confirmation number plus the confirmation of the mystery room I didn't book. Using the mystery number, I canceled the other room on their website, just wanting this whole issue to be done. But around 8PM I received a call from the front desk woman telling me I would still need to pay for one night of the other room, on top of the two nights I actually booked. When I told her I wouldn't because there was obviously an error, she told me she already had my credit card info and would charge me anyways. I told her if she did, I would contact my credit card company, and she angrily said "OK." and abruptly hung-up!||The next morning, I called Joanne, the RLH Guest Relations Coordinator, to explain what had happened. She gave me another phone number to call, of which I was put on hold for almost 40 minutes before being hung up on! When I called back, another rep tried to give me Joanne's number to call-I was in a phone-loop! At this point I had to go to work, and decided I would call my credit card company if they overcharged me. Joanne later emailed me with the same conclusion.||Finally, around 4PM, the front desk woman called my room again to tell me to meet her in the office. She angrily gave me a receipt with the full refund of the mystery room, then told me, "I'm done!" No apology, nothing.||I appreciate at least getting a refund, but it was for a room I never even booked! Don't come here if being treated with basic respect is...
Read moreI stayed there with my daughter and her 2 friends for a vacation. The owner/manager appeared to take a dislike to us on the 2nd day. Knocked on our door MULTIPLE times in the 3 nights we stayed. Insisted we get 'room service' but meant we needed to let them in to clean. Teens don't wake up at 8am. Sorry.|He acted like we were throwing a party and doing illegal things and they needed to inspect. We also forgot jackets one day, came back, and didn't park perfectly, though 3 of the 4 of us stayed in the car. He came over to insist we fix our parking. I explained we were literally running in, but he just stood there and just stared hard at us with an extremely grumpy look until we left.|-Bathroom has no exhaust fan - mold on the ceiling|-Shower curtain sticks to your body - see no exhaust fan|-Water literally runs down the wall in the bathroom when you shower it's SO humid in there - see no exhaust fan.|-Corner behind bathroom door is visibly dirty, with rust dripping down the door frame as well.|-Bedroom floor has a sag in the middle, lino is squishy there and obviously broken.|-Wall under the window is squishy and visibly badly repaired.|-If microwave is plugged in, the outlet has to be reset.|-Room windows get condensation on them overnight.|-3 towels even though I booked for 4 people|-Mattresses are HARD AS A ROCK, and hotel beds are usually too soft.|-Bed frame is metal, and I don't mean hard metal, I mean filing cabinet, oops I banged my toe and the whole hotel heard metal.|-Parking is TIGHT. Doable if you are in a small car, park on the street if you aren't a compact.||Overall, I could have just dealt with the room, but the RUDE/NOSY owner/manager pushed the experience into UGH. I wish I had spent just 10 more dollars a night for a better...

Pros : A small mom and pop motel right next to the highway. Owner on site and actively helps to keep the place up. Room was being cleaned as I arrived early. She did a good job. Paint is nice, microwave fridge. Good water pressure in the shower nice towels the bedding was clean I could smell the Tide detergent that I saw. Hot and cold water machine in the office. Wi-Fi was strong I was on the first floor and adequate TV channels.
Enjoy the smell of the curry cooking from the office!
Plenty of restaurants Target grocery stores 7-Eleven Panera bread all of those things are within walking distance very close to public transportation I did not need a car at all.
Cons: All was well until..... my last and third day as I was packing... Sure enough as some of the other reviewers stated there was a baby 🪳 ROACH on my jacket ! Just ruined my return option!
Language barrier and difficulty to understand due to heavy accents of the manager as well as the housekeeping staff but they were nice and we did the best that we could. A smile went a long way. There's no coffee, breakfast or any other amenities.
Didn't bother me in the least but the furniture is from the '70s and '80s better quality in my view but it is older but did its job.
Not that I needed the air conditioning but I did see where the compressor has been disconnected and this isn't the first time I've experienced that in California. They're trying to save money. It happened to me at a motel 6 in thousand oaks they had to come back in and engage the compressor.
In conclusion, with a 🪳 issue I would never return. Apparently they're not taking care of this issue professionally because there's been too many...
