The fact that this is part of a well-known, beloved chain, it gets a higher rating. This particular location seems to have all but given up on such details as cleanliness, quality control and attention to detail. I was seated right away and the server was prompt, friendly, and professional throughout in her interactions with me. She took my order, offering a particular meal combination that had me getting a breakfast sampler with french toast instead of pancakes. The meal arrived in an appropriate time, but it was immediately obvious that I was served pancakes instead of french toast. Further, I noted that the pancakes were quite cold, old, and stiff, while the plate underneath was hot. For a high-volume pancake restaurant, I cannot grasp how anyone would receive cold (not luke-warm) pancakes. As I was inspecting the pancakes, a different server politely swapped the pancakes for my french toast order. These were warm, but while they looked great from the top, It was disappointing to find that they were incredibly undercooked on the underside. They were yellow, not browned at all, and quite eggy (almost raw). There just is no excuse for this. The rest of the order was correctly made. The table accoutrements, to include a plethora of syrup choices were situated on a stand that was very sticky to the touch. Having watched numerous table wipes in between patron's table seatings, I saw that the tables received the bare minimum of attention. It seems as if the management staff have failed to meet standards on many fronts, set by the franchise. These certainly include training of staff, accountability, cleanliness, food quality, attention of detail throughout the service and the restaurant. Personally, I recommend passing on this location, preferring instead to seek out...
Read moreUpdate: I had to downgrade my previous review from 5-star to two because of a lady I interacted with when I picked up an order last night. She’s a Hispanic lady.I’m not sure if she’s a new manager, transferred or what not, but she was rude and very unprofessional, in clear contrast to anyone I’ve interacted with at that restaurant over the past few years.
I went in to pick up an order, and she saw me there but didn’t say anything. After another customer walked in, she walked over and got him a sit, while I had been standing there the whole time.
Then she came back and asked me what I was there for, and I told her, and she went to the kitchen, then instead of bring the order to the counter as everyone else does in that IHOP and any other IHOP I have been to for pick up, she stood in the kitchen? Handed me the drink across the wall separating the kitchen from the entrance area. When I asked her if she has the food, which I could not see at first because she had it below the wall, with only the drink showing, she just gave me the nasty look and no response. Her whole attitude, tone, and overall behavior is just unusual and very distasteful. I normally see another lady or a nice gentleman when I pick up here, they are both very nice and professional. This new lady is one disrespectful individual and needs to learn some customer service skills or find a job more suitable to her personality.
Previous review: My experience is this restaurant has always been positive. The employees are very respectful and...
Read moreWe arrived, we're seated in one booth 6 people, very crowded, we're handed one paper menu and asked to share to look it over as they were limited on the number of menus they had. We were asked for drinks, didn't think any thing of it, ordered children's drinks and 2 sodas. Drinks alone came out to be $20.00!! Holy Cow! We started off ordering a children's plate and they were out of that and had to pick something else. So okay, Then when asked if they had a type of pancake (that was originally why we had went for) they said they discontinued and said they won't be carying any of those types of pancakes any more. EXTREMELY disappointed. So ordered different pancakes and what said was 10.00 (and some change) turned out being way more than it should have. (Relizing after getting our bill). Then when brought our food out, the waitress had mentioned my order Wong (when serving it to us) making it confusing for what she actually brought out for my order. At this point we just scarfed down what we ordered and paid and tipped 15%. Moral of this is not anything to do with the waitress at all, but the "I hop" overall. Unorganized, and not what we were expecting, and to actually be ready to pay literally 20.00 for the drinks if you have a big family, or just order waters. Won't...
