Assumption Greek Orthodox Church — Local services in Seattle

My sister, and I came here for bite of Greece. We had lovely Baklava out in a private garden. Met a vendor Kari-Ann ( fantastic lady) she should be a museum tour guide. She told us facts about Greece, and art. Went into the Orthodox church to light a candle for my recently passed daughter. The Father welcomed us, listened to me with a open heart, consoled me. I lit the candle, prayed for my daughter in the beautiful church. Felt very much spiritual,peaceful, and good to do the lighting. The candle lights for 7 days. I will remember...

The Greek festival at the assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Seattle is amazing. It does not have the crowds of the saint Demetrios festival which is close to the university district on the montlake cut however it's great location in Capitol Hill makes this a fantastic stop before or after your daytime Capitol Hill excursions. Especially delicious is the staple Greek gyros as well as the lamb and of course eat loukoumades...

Full disclosure.... I was here for an event. Taste of Greece.... what i can say is that i know nothing of Greek orthodox other than.... the Art and library were both wonderful.
