Sizzle&Crunch Vietnamese Grill — Restaurant in Seattle

You know what I love seeing? Restaurant owners that are passionate about their restaurant and the food that they feed to people. Although this place looks like a Vietnamese Chipotle (yes, I agree it totally does too), ask Paul where his inspiration came from and he'll tell you otherwise!

You know what else I love seeing? Great design. The owners thought about what the first thing the customers should see and that was the "most recommended" dishes. How did they do that? By putting a sign named "Specials" in FRONT of the customers when they walk in. Mind Blown! So well thought! I applaud them on this great utilization on Information Architecture :)

Okay, now onto the food. My S.O ordered the House Pork Chop Plate, which meant I had to order a Banh Mi, so I got the BB Special Banh Mi. The Banh Mis here are a little bit pricer than other places on the ave (as most people have stated). I'm not much of a sandwich eater, but the Banh Mi was good! The bread was a bit thick to me & I wish the green onions were chopped into smaller pieces. However, the meat pate was good! The pork belly was DELISH. Not a huge fan on the cold cuts, but everything worked well for the Banh Mi. Onto the House Pork Chop Plate - yeah, let's just say that next time I go in, i'll be eating this. I LOVED it. The pork chop was well season, the pork belly was noms and if you put the fish sauce over everything, yaaaaas. Not only that, it's a pretty generous amount of food for the price you pay!

The place is clean & plenty of places to sit at around 7pmish. I enjoyed watching the employees cooking stuff in the open kitchen - it adds to the environment!

Overall thoughts? Banh Mi lover? Try out their BB Special Banh Mi, it's pretty unique! Need help choosing what to try out? House Pork Chop Plate!!!!! Owners are great and they are opened...

I’ve had sizzle and crunch before and was not super impressed. Later wandered by and saw that had an OK food health rating.

Went back years later because I had an insane deal with a coupon on Uber Eats pickup. Some good but mostly bad.

Pork rice bowl was decent. Rice was short grain and cooked perfectly, soya based sauce on rice also had good flavor. Pork was nice and charred in some spots but looked like it was cut with a dull knife. Some parts of pure fat hanging on for dear life. Very little quality control. Veggies felt like they were prepped days in advance, not fresh. Green mayonnaise or yogurt sauce also had a nearly expired slime feeling to it. Flavor was ok but that mayo sauce was unnecessary.

Also got pork belly banh mi. Normally would have been close to $13. Insanely high price for a mediocre, or dare I say bad, banh mi. Same kind of pork that was in rice bowl, lacking quality control. Veggies also pretty dilapidated. For some reason there was chopped green onion AND an entire stalk of green onion on the banh mi. Don’t know if I’ve ever even had any green onion on a banh mi, let alone two kinds. Also, I might be wrong but felt like there were two types of sauce, one was a classic type of mayo that tasted fine, the other was that slimy green mayo sauce from the pork bowl. On top of it all the bread was not a saving grace, little stale and didn’t feel like the proper type of bread to me.

I had the pleasure of ordering from Sizzle & Crunch last night through DoorDash, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! Even though I was hesitant to try a new restaurant in the area, I couldn't resist the coupon on DoorDash, and I'm so glad I gave it a shot. Sizzle & Crunch has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in the Seattle area, thanks to its exceptionally fresh and delicious food.

The vegetables were abundant, healthy, and skillfully chopped, giving the dish a perfect balance of flavors and textures. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the portions were incredibly generous, making it an outstanding value for the price. In fact, I received about a pound of food in a high-quality to-go container that was microwave-safe, and even after reheating my leftovers the next day, it tasted just as fantastic as it did the night before!

Sizzle & Crunch truly knows how to impress their customers with amazing portions for your money, and the prices are very reasonable. I can't stress enough how fantastic this place is! I'm already looking forward to my next order from here, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch restaurant experience.
