My husband and I stayed here 6/15-6/19. When we arrived and checked in we were given room 105. When we walked in everything looked fine but upon further inspection it was pretty gross. The shower rod was falling off the wall and the curtain wouldn’t keep any water in at all. There was mold on the ceiling and it was overall pretty nasty and there was urine on the toilet seat. The chair in the room was stained but overall that part wasn’t too bad. We told staff the next morning and they had us moved that night. The hotel staff was AMAZING and so accommodating. I wish that they had a better facility to work with. The next day they upgraded us to a suite because of the inconvenience. When we got to room 314 or. 312 I don’t remember now, there was a noticeable smell. It smelled like mold and an old room. We went to the bathroom and it was much cleaner but not much better. The floor tile was not stuck to the ground and jiggled, the door wouldn’t close all the way and there was like 1,000 gnats that would not go away no matter how many we killed. We gave our 2 year old a bath in the tub and after she got out and walked around on the carpet her feet were completely black. The carpet was sticky and everything was kind of gross too. The beds were comfy and the sheets were clean though so we just pushed through bc we knew a refund wasn’t likely. On the last night of our stay my husband came from the bathroom and was met by a HUGE cockroach that crawled under his bed. While looking for the cockroach to kill we noticed the carpets were damp all over and all the furniture had mold on the bottoms. We tried to call the front desk but the phone didn’t work at all. There were also lightbulbs missing from lamps, the chair was stained and gross and so was pretty much everything in there also we wanted to take our daughter to the pool but it was green and needing attention. We told staff on checkout and they said they’d call pest control for the cockroach and we left. Overall the staff gets 10 stars because they were all so kind and helpful. The facility is going through upgrades and they need to hurry there because I don’t have much confidence for the other...
Read moreThis hotel was awful from the time we pulled up and walked in. The outside was unkept and the smell that greeted you when you walked in was very powerful, like they were trying to cover up some other smell. CHECK IN: When we checked in, with my 2 elderly parents in tow, we were informed that the elevator was not working and that they had us on the second floor. When reservations were made the week before this was not disclosed. Apparently the elevator has been broken for over a month. My elderly parents wilted when they heard we were going to have to climb stairs. Of course there were no rooms downstairs, those were all taken. We asked for a refund, but that was not honored. We checked in (because we had paid $150 for this room and they would not refund) and went to get the only luggage cart in the whole hotel, which appeared to have been ran over and the wheels on it turned in, so it did not roll correctly. We pushed the cart to the stairwell and hoisted all our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Normally a broken elevator would not be an issue, but when you are travelling with elderly parents it becomes an issue, and if there had been a disclosure about the broken elevator when booking, I would have booked somewhere else. THE ROOM: VERY outdated, dark and dingy. The bed we had was AWFUL and rolled at a downward slant. Very uncomfortable bed. The bathtub had some mold in various spots. Of course a room that can hold 4 people only had 2 towels, so we had to get more towels. Water pressure in the shower was great tho! BREAKFAST: We went down to eat breakfast about 7:45 and were sadly disappointed that they had ran out of just about everything. We asked them if they were going to refurbish breakfast, which we were told yes. Finally after 30 minutes of waiting they brought more bacon out, followed by potatoes. Breakfast was good, ONCE you got it! OVERALL: Would not recommend this hotel and will for sure not stay...
Read morein my travels I have stayed in IHG properties achieving a platinum statues. I had done so because of the customer service. Thus, it was a very unfortunate surprise to have been treated so unprofessionally by the staff at the Holiday Inn in Sherman. When I got to the room, the first thing I noticed was that the door was opened; it was almost impossible to for me to close. it seems that the door knob and lock would not slide when closing. It took a great deal of effort to finally get it to close. The second thing I noticed was that the room had two queen side beds. When I made my reservation I had clearly requested and paid for a king size bed. When I called the front desk I transferred to the general manager. I can't remember her name but I'm sure they don't have too many female general managers in that property. I informed her of the problem with the door and the two queen beds instead of the kind. The first words out of her mouth was that they were sold out which I could understand; the second sentence is what really upset me was that he told me in a very condescending, rude and unprofessional tone that she could just cancel my reservation. Imagine that; I had just had a long day of travel and had important meetings scheduled. I asked her if she was jesting or just trying to be funny. She answered no, that she was not trying to be sarcastic or funny but re-stated that she could cancel my reservation. I thanked her for all her "help" and "professionalism" and hung up. Your competitors have a property across the parking lot. I called, they had a king size be available. I went downstairs and cancel my reservation. That general manager does not deserve to be in charge of any property. I don't think you can afford to lose too many clients like me. I could not have been the first and last client to be...
