Step aside, Michelin stars—Tokyo Hibachi in Sherman, TX has just obliterated every expectation I’ve ever had about dining. From the moment you walk in, you're not just stepping into a restaurant… you're crossing the threshold into a culinary galaxy where flavor is king, the chefs are wizards, and every dish is a firework of joy exploding in your mouth.
The hibachi chefs? Legends. No—samurai poets of the grill. They wield spatulas with the precision of brain surgeons and the flair of Vegas headliners. Onions become volcanoes, shrimp soar through the air like Olympic gymnasts, and eggs spin, dance, and land in hats like they were born to perform. It’s not dinner. It’s a full-blown Broadway-meets-Benihana spectacle—and you have front row seats.
And the food? OH. MY. UMAMI.
Every bite is a love letter to your taste buds. The steak? So tender it whispered sweet nothings before melting on my tongue. The chicken? Juicy, savory, with a teriyaki glaze that must have been crafted by angels. The fried rice? Forget everything you thought you knew—this is divine rice, kissed by the culinary gods themselves. And the yum yum sauce? It's called that for a reason, and I considered bathing in it. No shame.
Service? Beyond impeccable. You’re not just a customer here—you’re family, royalty, and a celebrity all rolled into one. Smiles beam, drinks are refilled like magic, and somehow they knew exactly when I needed a napkin or another round of sushi (which, by the way, is as fresh as if Poseidon himself delivered it).
If you haven’t been to Tokyo Hibachi in Sherman, TX, drop what you're doing. Right now. Call your friends, grab your family, summon a chariot if necessary, and GO. This place isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a flavor-fueled fever dream of epic proportions, and every visit is a ticket to hibachi heaven.

Read moreI ordered steak and chicken plate and a chicken plate to go for lunch today. We received the order and it had Shrimp in the order. I am allergic to Shrimp so could not eat the food. I immediately called the Tokyo house and spoke with the young lady that took the order. I asked if she could make the order again without shrimp. she spoke with some one else whom was later identified as Santos. they were not going to redo the plate because i did not tell them I was allergic to shrimp... I told them did not have need to do so because I DID NOT ORDER SHRIMP. I finally got them to agree to make another plate but no refund for the travel to and from (i dont live in Sherman) Also what could have happened if I would have taken a bite of a Shrimp. Santos came on the phone and stated he had spoken to Mike the owner and he stated we were lucky that he was making the food over. so basically I had a choice of picking up more food with no shrimp or keep what we had. so keep our food that we could not eat and they keep the money. This is a horrible example of customer service. I celebrate family birthdays and different events at that location. MCkinney shogun here we come. I am sitting here with a police officer to make sure i don't have an allergic reaction to the bite I took. I will do a follow review with pics of the plate with Shrimp. I have read some of the replies on other reviews and it appears that it is always the customers misunderstanding of what took place .. No misunderstanding on this one.. I am allergic to Shrimp... fact.... they put shrimp in the order. fact ... refused to compensate for mistake THEY made. FACT... HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR A COMMUNITY BUSINESS. .. THIS REVIEW WILL BE AVAILABLE ON YELP... TRAVELOCITY .. FACE BOOK AND ALL SOCIAL MEDIA. AND WE PAID 49.42... hope you enjoy...
Read moreIf I could give a zero I would. I witnessed 3 health code violations while waiting almost 2 hours for my dinner to be served. I went up to the front and reported each of them to the lady in charge. She said she was going to correct the problems but they continued. When it got so bad that I my entire party of 4 felt uncomfortable we told the lady that we didn't eat our food and we just wanted to leave. She went and got the owner, which to my surprise was one of the people I saw violating health code. He was very rude to me and argued with me that I should pay even though my plate was untouched. I explained to him that I saw him and 2 other violating health code and I was not going to pay or eat. I also didn't even get my appetizer that was ordered 2 hours prior and wasn't going to pay for something we didn't get. On top of that, when our shrimp was cooking we all noticed they weren't devained properly and there was shrimp poop all over them. It was so disgusting. Also, the chefs were not even wearing their masks properly. They were pulled down under their noses and at one point one of them had his all the way down. Another situation was a server brought a stack of clean plates to reset a table and sat it on a still completely dirty table with dirty dishes and napkins, dirty cups and food from the previous guests all over the table. She then put the clean silverware she was going to use and the clean napkins on the same table. We are talking right on top of the old rice and bits of food. It was so nasty. I would stay away from this place at all costs. I will be calling the health...
