A heads up for this hotel: it is currently under a remodel. i mention this because i booked this location through my company for a two week business trip, and it wasn’t mentioned on our portal, but it is on their hotel site, which in hindsight i should have checked. This was disappointing, as i was looking forward to using the pool, but i understand that updates need to happen. however, charging full price while this remodel is occurring is unethical. the “check in” is in a side meeting room, as is their “restaurant” if you can call it that. i paid extra when booking for “free” breakfast (ironic) and never ate there over 2 weeks because of how depressing it looked. it is around $15 if you decide to purchase it on site per person/day. no microwave in the rooms, so you have to use the one in the hall outside the “front desk meeting room. i only requested a room clean one time during my stay via the provided door hanger sign, and they ignored it/forgot to. Told the front desk and they said they would prioritize it the following day, which they did..sort of. Sure they made the beds, but no surfaces were wiped down, did not vacuum, did not replace the trash bags, and gave me exactly one (1) washcloth for my remaining 6 days. I also requested an additional blanket mid-stay (they are horribly thin), and it never came. would i care about these things if it was priced appropriately? probably not. but my company paid over $300 a night coming to a total of over $5k, so i expected better service all around, regardless of the construction. I certainly would had switched hotels if i was the one who booked it. at check out i requested a call from management to discuss my dissatisfaction (i checked out at 5am, i understood they wouldn’t be in til later in the day) but i am STILL...
Read moreThey don’t post it with their third-party companies, but they are completely torn up. It is a battle zone of construction. The employees are absolutely the rudest people I’ve ever met in the industry. They’re arrogant they’re unhelpful you have to be checked in at the back door then you have to walk your luggage up to the very front of the lobby and then go upstairs so it’s it’s way out of the way they never have help here and when they do they are rude and complain. The valet outside is extremely overpriced, but it’s a third-party company so the guy outside are very nice and very helpful and kind but they don’t have anything to do with Marriott or this hotel. It’s the parking lot that is charging you not the hotel and it’s ridiculously expensive they’re driving your car 2 feet.. The pool doesn’t work there’s construction everywhere the food’s overpriced and Probably not safe to eat they’re on chafing dishes. It’s not really a restaurant. It’s just thrown together. Something out of a bad wedding event. Cannot tell you how rude the employees are here they’re simply the Encountered and I’ve traveled all over the world and the United States never have I met router employees that at this hotel . Definitely overrated. It’s not an experience. It’s a just get through the night. The location is great because it’s Southlake has nothing to do with the hotel. There are a lot of other better hotels in Southlake. I don’t recommend this one. I’ve had to use it because my company situation and a current housing situation and this is the way we’ve had to do it, but I absolutely would not choose this...
Read moreSo this hotel is in the middle of a year-long renovation and rebranding. As such, we got a good rate for our three-night stay using Priceline. During the renovation, there is no lobby, the check-in is in a meeting room, the “restaurant/bar” is in Banquet Hall A. There is very disrupting construction in progress. Someone said that the lobby would reopen sometime in June, and that the room updates should be done by the end of August. Afterwords, I expect that this will be an even better hotel when the work is finished. All that said, we had a very, very nice room, but with a few issues. Because of the renovation, there is a very long walk from the temporary entrance to the elevator. We were surprised that there was no in-room microwave, but there was one in the hall near the improvised registration area, but who wants to take the elevator downstairs to in the middle of the night in your jammies to reheat leftovers? Next, the desk in the room is made of steel. So my iPad and iPhone were “glued” to the desk. I’ve never encountered anything like this. It also meant that my wireless recharging device won’t work on this desk (because it depends on a magnetic connection), although it did work on the night stand. I just think it is a bizarre design feature. My wife’s comment, was that we probably won’t be able to afford this hotel next year, after...
