Horrible customer service and etiquette from whom I believe is possibly the store manager. I entered the line as waited by the please wait here sign. I had 3 pet items in hand. There was 1 cashier assisting a customer with a return and 2 other associates plus the male whom I believed was the store manager were conversing. The cashier assisting the customer asked 1 of the associates to assist me with checking out. Then walks I'm assuming a frequent shopper at this store whom stood at the register conversing with the believed store manager as he motioned for me to come to the register. I approached the register waiting for her to move as I am about to start and complete my transaction. No one time did this manager greet nor ask did I find everything I was looking for and/or needed. He rings my 3 items up, states the total, continues conversing with the frequent shopper and hands me my receipt. I guess my purchase wasn't worth a greeting or small talk. I only came to this location because the location I frequent was out of the treats my dogs love. It's really sad that as a black woman we are treated so differently for just being black. I won't be back to patronize this particular location. I'll take my black dollar elsewhere; where I'm valued...
Read moreI don’t often shop at this location but I came to this location awhile back and happen to find an end table that was an uncommon color and design in which I had been looking for, for some time. The issue is the table was sitting in clearance and had some minor but visibly noticeable flaws. I checked the price to find the item was in fact not marked down so I took it to the checkout to find out if it should have been marked down. The young girl at the check out was not only unhelpful but halfway rude. I’ve worked in customer service in the past and her behavior was unacceptable. When I asked her if the table was meant to be marked down she shrugged it off with an excuse, it was probably just accidentally placed in clearance. When I pointed out the table had visible flaws her response and I quote was “well do you want it or not”.. the appropriate action would have been to consult a manager. Read moreI had an odd feeling about my return yesterday. I was trying to return something I bought a week prior w/o a receipt (which I've done before and their policy allows for store credit).
But for some reason, the associate wouldn't do it for me. Claiming it wasn't in the system, meaning no Homegoods sells that item anymore. But I still see that item in other Homegoods today, so I found that very odd.
Thankfully I found the receipt buried in e-mail, but I can't help but think I was being judged somehow. The associate's demeanor changed immediately from slight annoyance to extremely friendly when I showed I had the receipt. Almost making up for an incorrect assumption about me.
I go to Homegoods at least once a week (it's a treasure hunt after-all) and I've never really felt that vibe from an associate before.
2/5 stars for that experience, which honestly could be an incorrect assumption on my part. So will likely change this to 5 later....
