Today I had a very unpleasant experience. I have been a repeat shopper at our downtown goodwill for the last decade, and never have I been treated so poorly.
I purchased a cabinet in hopes to hang in my bathroom yesterday, foolishly thinking it would fit (hindsight is 20/20). I brought it back today with original tag and receipt and was told I could only get in store credit. I was never told I would not be able to get a true refund of money spent, otherwise I would have not purchased it and come back with exact measurements. I asked for a supervisor, as the cashier began to state there were circumstances that would allow a refund instead and mine seemed to fit the circumstances she mentioned. A gal came to the register and said the supervisor said no. I asked again to speak with the supervisor. This is when a lady named Karyll came over and she was aggressive, condescending, and overall incredibly unprofessional and rude. I understood it was policy but at this point she had upset me enough to ask for HER manager. (I had my 5 year old child with me and am pregnant... I was NOT coming into the store looking for a fight.) She told me her manager was in but then refused to let me speak with him. I asked his name and hours and she referred me to check my receipt. I then confirmed, you have your manager here but will not let me speak with him? In which case she said yes. I went to the car upset and called the store number and spoke with Abigail. I asked for Sean Maguire and she connected me to a voicemail box of someone named Gina. I called again and got a store rep named Stephany. She assured me I would be connected correctly this time and again I got the wrong voicemail box. I am HORRIBLY upset with your company and I dont feel this is a true representation of the company you have always been. I always get wonderful service - and I'm hoping to get a phone call to discuss this further.
Before I tell friends and family boycott goodwill, I want to discuss this because I feel there is a remedy and a few people's poor attitudes and lack of training/customer service skills should not impact your company in the future nor my relationship with...
Read moreThis goodwill is a kinda nice store with good buys that are oberpriced and barely any good employee. The biggest problem ive been having is a employee that constantly complains about having to orginize and put things back into their original places whenever someone moves somthing. I picked up an item and walked about 5 inches down so someone could get by and sat it down, and never fails she complained. It was in the same isle, same shelf just farther down. It's happened the last 6 times I've visited and 3 where me seeing her do it to others even a kid. She gets very nasty about it and always "says it under her breath" but always loud enough for people to hear. I really hope she quits this behaviour, who wants to get harassed every time they look at an item at a second hand store? I avoid this store because of her. If she dont like organising and doing her job maybe she should be let go so someone who is greatful can take over. I get tired if hearing "ugh god! Wish people would get brains and put things back where they belong so I dont have to overwork!!" 5 inches away? She also picked it up and put it where I found it. I don't know her name, but next time I'll try to get it. If theres a next time. Also, clean the nasty bathrooms! Lower the prices!! Your not a...
Read moreAlthough I won't donate to GW, I enjoy shopping at them. Discount color tags of the week keep me going back, more than I should lol. It's unfortunate because of a few bad humans, the bathrooms are now inaccessible here. One suggestion I have is to put the dvd's (and cds) in a place where an older person like myself can see them without having to sit on the floor or crouch down, which gives me excruciating pain (GW on 3rd specifically). We're the majority of people who buy them so place them on a higher shelf. Also the pictures and frames should not be stacked on one another (GW on 3rd) I've seen beautiful ones that will never be purchased because of rips and huge scratches. My last suggestion would be to give back to kids by donating your excessive amount of coats, jackets, and backpacks. There are plenty of "drives" to participate in. This would help the negative image of millionaires who own the companies, yet treat their...
