I brought my group of high school students here when we traveled to St Louis for a robotics competition, it was one of the only hotels we could book within the city. Sundeep Patel, is the manager, he was accommodating and somewhat paranoid about us booking 12 rooms for our team, and asked for several credit cards. After getting everything straightened out, we only ended up staying one night after one of our students found a bag of methamphetamine in the pull out sofa. We were unsure if the small bag actually contained meth at first, but Sundeep’s stark reaction was very telling that this was obviously something illegal that shouldn’t have been left in the pull out sofa. We told Sundeep Patel we had to leave because it was a major and obvious liability issue with our students. He agreed and said THANK YOU FOR YOUR DISCRESTION, WE WILL NOT CHARGE YOU FOR YOUR NIGHT HERE. Well, now it’s 2 weeks later, he charged us for every room. So our discretion is out the window at this point. The door jams were beaten up to the point where the doors barely shut and locked, the elevator reeked of urine, the smoke free rooms smelt like smoke and mildew (one of our students with slight asthma was incredibly sick after trying to sleep the one night we were there), their maid carts had less cleaning supplies than my college dorm room and the disgusting outdoor carpeted stairs were coming apart. One of our students had this to say “It was super dusty I could barely breathe. I felt like my lung collapsed and the stench of cigarettes was everywhere. If my eyes were closed I would have said we were in a cigar shop.” Despite the close proximity to the Edward Jones Dome, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Their manager, Sundeep Patel, is clearly a manipulative person who is only interested in money and not the well being of his customers…not even children.
After filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau they denied that they had charged our credit card, you can read their response to our claim below, it's obvious they're more concerned about covering themselves and money than the well being of their customers, even if they're children: On June 04, 2015, the business provided the following information: There were here for the robotics competition and booked 12 rooms on line. I had repeatedly contacted them prior to arrival because they gave me a bad credit card for their reservations. I need a valid credit card and he finally got back with me the day before. Upon check in I still have not received payment or a good credit card as we speak. When they pulled out one of the bed something fell out and we gave it to a police officer and they still have not told us what it was. We told them they need to still pay for that one night. We were able to sell the rest of the rooms last minute. I still have not received payment, but I can't even charge them because I do not have a good credit card. I have left the school multiple messages before and after and nothing has been said back to us. They technically still owe me for one nights stay. I told them they need to pay for the one night. At this point I am tired of calling them because no one calls me back with a valid credit card. I never had contact with the girl that submitted this report. I do not even know who this is. Mr. Holly is the man that booked the rooms with the schools credit card. I would appreciate this...
Read moreThe only reason it’s 2 stars is the price(for the area), free breakfast and the shower pressure. Thankfully we only needed a bed for a few hours of sleep on our trip back home. The first thing we noticed was the mini fridge wasn’t plugged in and that’s probably because it was broken and a musty smell in the room. Then we noticed little baby roaches coming out of the microwave, a damp uneven floor, stains on the furniture and cracks on the wall. When I went to wash my face I wanted to hang the wash cloth to dry and the hanger rack by the sink was covered in dust, also covered in dust was the white tray by the ice bucket that’s sitting on the table area (which should be cleaned with every visit so unless your housekeepers are blind idk how they missed that). Then we go to bed and we slept on top of the covers because it was damp underneath them. Well a room with cold ac and no blankets is pretty chilly so my husband goes to turn the ac unit off and it’s covered in mold, like enough that he can see it with only the tv light covered in mold, there is also mold around the caulk lining the tub. Waking up is always nice with a cup of coffee and can help with dealing with people so my husband went to make a cup before going to breakfast and the brewer looked as if the coffee grounds exploded in it. When he came back with breakfast he pointed out that the 2 full trash bags and cart down at the other end of the hallway which were there when we arrived at 1am were still there at 8:30am. Also the lady working the front desk 6/26/19 upon our arrival (1am) and currently (9am) doesn’t seem like she belongs in customer service. She had a sign on the front desk saying she was off helping a customer when in reality she was watching tv in the breakfast area. When we went for some microwave noodles she was walking out to smoke and made us wait til she was done, which had she been smoking it before we came down it would of been different but when she said “Okay I’ll get you when I get done with this” as she was three steps from the door isn’t the greatest thing to hear. Also this morning the coffee was out in the breakfast area and when brought to her attention she said “While I guess it’s out”. If we were staying in the area any longer than a day we would of left as soon as we realized how bad this place is. So if you’re on a budget or just pinching pennies, don’t mind roaches, mold, smells, not nice employees, along with the other various issues then I guess you’ll love it. If you need more than just a bed to rest up go...
Read moreI was relocated here from a hospital in Indiana for 30 days originally and the hospital was extremely generous to offer and pay for me to stay here at no charge whatsoever. I've grown really fond of this place personally and all of the staff members and even management and the owner. This is a family friendly owned and operated business. Sure it's not a 4 or 5 star motel. But you have to be grateful that you have a good place to stay with honest, hard working, very reliable, super helpful and really nice good people overall. Whereas sure the area isn't all that safe at times. Where there are drug addicts and lots of drunk and really sketchy homeless people roaming around the area, and they usually stumble upon the property or the parking lot area and they're either begging for something most of the time or wanting food or something to drink for free. Other than that this place is very decent compared to other 2 star hotels. And it's literally right next to the Lumeire Casino and Hotel, which is a really high end resort and really fun to explore or hangout on the roof of the hotel to grab a drink or some fancy meals from the bar inside. Or you can simply go down to the Casino area and find lots more activities to do. And the best part is America's Best Value Inn is literally just a walk away and right around the corner from the Casino and Hotel. However staying at America's Best Value Inn was an absolutely wonderful experience for me and I personally have and would sincerely like to offer my humble gratitude and real appreciation to everyone who works there, especially the manager Eddie and his son, who really took the time and were really patient to assist me, with any needs or concerns that I had while staying here, and especially in my current state and unfortunate situation. I highly recommend this place hands down and it would be an absolute pleasure to revisit and to see old familiar faces and to enjoy staying...
