The spa experience was amazing. The staff when we first entered showed us everything we needed! The facility was amazing in general. There is a hot tub, a red light sauna for women only in a certain area. Clothing optional! Showers for afterwards if you want, brushes, mouth wash, literally anything you need in the bathrooms! My mother and I were here for my birthday and we were so excited! I got a manicure and it was phenomenal, the tech and I had a great conversation and she did amazing on the service and my nails look great. My mother LOVED her experience with a pedicure, the massage and service in general was amazing! The lounging time and drinks we had after were amazing, waiting on our massage. Then we get to the massage, my mom has rheumatoid arthritis, and she told the person doing her massage beforehand about this, so they already have in mind they should be easy on her. The person doing her massage had no idea how to accommodate this, they were very hard on her and had her trying to raise her arms above her head etc. She told me after wards how hard this was on her body. I was explaining to her after mine that I was also in pain for 60% of the massage. I am not diagnosed with RA but I was in so much pain during my massage. At one point the woman doing mine said “you’re going to have to relax your shoulder, are you uncomfortable? Do you want it to be lighter?” To which I told her yes, just like I did on my paperwork (which they have you fill out beforehand to prevent this I’m assuming) that I don’t need deep pressure, which is why we chose “Swedish massage” over deep tissue. She did not go any lighter after telling her this. We also got the special “scalp treatment” and my person put warm oil onto my scalp which was great at first and then took some kind of stone comb or some kind of hard stone onto my scalp and SCRAPED through my hair. My mother said they did not do that to her for the scalp treatment. So I don’t imagine there’s a standard for how they do these treatments? It was a great laugh for us both to bond over but I’m trying to figure out what happened. It was 5:30 or so, so I’m trying to imagine they were mad we were there so close to them closing and trying to get us out, but that would be cynical I feel. As a masseuse there have got to be signs your client is uncomfortable after they tell you what they want and you’re not accommodating them? I also understand that people want the masseuse to dig in and get rid of any knots that they have but we both specified we want light pressure over and over, my mother needs it more than I do, and maybe I need it the same as she does but this was an incredible experience up until we got...
Read moreI booked a full day of services at the Four Seasons Spa to treat myself after a tough year: lavender dreams massage, diamond energy facial, and a classic mani/pedi. I utilized the $10 valet service, which I would recommend over self-parking (it might be cheaper for a full spa day). I was checked into the spa by a very pleasant woman who gave me a tour of the space. It is very clean and well kept, but a bit small, especially in the locker area. My massage was at 10am, and early into it some folks in the lounge area started getting really loud. I later found out there was a company holiday party at the spa (come on!). I asked my masseuse to go ask them to pipe down because it was ruining the relaxation that anyone would expect from a massage. She complied. However, they did not pipe down until about 10 minutes before the end of my 100-minute massage. It really ruined the experience for me. The massage itself was nice. It included a big chunk of time for exfoliation that I would have rather had for massaging, but it was fine. After the massage, I had some time for lunch, which they can bring to you from the on-site restaurant. I had three small tacos and a pineapple juice for close to $40. It was good, but overpriced (which is basically the theme of my whole day). After lunch I took a dip in the women's only hot tub, briefly tried out the 130 degree steam room (too hot for me!), and took a shower. At 1pm I had the facial with Alix and it was fantastic! I felt like I was finally starting to relax at this point and I really enjoyed the Natura Bisse products that were used. I was absolutely glowing once it was finished. At 2pm I had my mani/pedi, which was fine. I had a pleasant conversation with my nail tech while I drank a "free" mimosa. With tax and tip, I spent close to $1000 dollars on my spa day. I did receive 20% off of my massage due to the noise. Would I come back? Probably not anytime soon. I think the services are overpriced for what you get. You're paying for the brand name. The place was packed on a weekday during the holidays so it didn't really feel exclusive or special. I'd like to try out some other spas before I come back to the Four Seasons. Overall, the staff was great and the services were good, but everything was just...
Read moreThe Four Seasons Spa at the Four Seasons Hotel St. Louis is the ultimate escape into luxury and relaxation. From the moment I stepped through the elegant entrance, I was wrapped in serenity and warmth. The space is beautiful, calming, and thoughtfully designed to help you unwind the moment you arrive.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, and I can’t say enough good things about Mieke Gray, LMT—her massage was absolutely incredible and melted away every bit of stress.
What made the experience even more memorable was sharing it with two wonderful friends. We enjoyed a spontaneous and delicious lunch in our spa robes, which was such a fun and indulgent touch. And as if the day couldn’t get better, I was surprised with a perfectly chilled bottle of Prosecco delivered just for me—true five-star service.
If you’re looking for a luxurious self-care day, this spa delivers in every way. From the service to the amenities to the overall vibe—it’s truly top-tier.
