The Wok — Restaurant in St. Louis

(I am assuming this is The Wok from the Lumiere Casino based on the address.)

My party came here late on Sunday night after an event after pretty much everything downtown was closed. This was our last choice in restaurants inside the casino, but became our only choice after everything else was closed (including the bar, which was interesting). We should have just gone to get fast food or a gas station sandwich, because this experience was horrible.

We were seated right away, and there were only a couple tables taken, and they were all eating already. Despite this, it took several minutes for our server to take our drink order, and even longer to deliver it and take our food order. The food finally arrived, however we got our entrees well before the appetizer. While all of this was going on, other tables were being seated and they weren't be attended to at all. The table behind us waited at least 15 minutes before the server came by for drinks, while the other tables had their server come by much more frequently. Our drinks stayed empty the majority of the time, and the food was just bland and disappointing. The only bright side is the price we paid for the amount of food we got was very reasonable, especially considering we were in a casino. Getting the check and paying was another 15 minute wait. So overall, we spent about 15 minutes eating and well over an hour sitting there. Thankfully our orders were correct, but I can't say the same for others around us.

If your choices are this restaurant and McDonald's, I would give the nod to McDonald's 10 out of 10 times. This was just a horrible experience and not worth the time spent waiting...

My husband and I were told wonderful things about The Wok. The signs say they open at 4 NOT TRUE. We arrived at 3:55 to be told along with others, who also read on the signs, they do not open till 5. Ok we wondered for 45 minutes then sat at bench across from restaurant and watched them let a man sit down and place his order so we got up headed to be seated only to be told they don't open till 5. I told her if she had not already sat and took an order we would still be waiting but when you bring him silverware and drink looks like your open to us. Not happy she told us to sit anywhere. A horrible review read below, we came and sat down and waited for the waitress to see us.. took about 20 minutes. After that it took another 10 minutes to get the drinks, that was just the drinks, I know that they're busy and can see there's people here eating, the food took 45 minutes to come out, after I talked with GM, she barely acknowledged what I was saying to her and telling her that the waitress was rude, not nice and very unattentive, if I could give this -1 star I would - but the one star will have to suffice.
