The West End — Hotel in St. Louis

I will never stay at this place again!! The manager Heather is racist and she is very rude! If you are African American please don’t go here , because she doesn’t like black people! She called the police on me because I questioned her about the price that she quoted to me and the free stay because she couldn’t find me a room because they were booked for the Chris Brown concert, she later told me she found me a room and that I would get a free stay because of the inconvenience. Mind you she had taken my money ahead of time. I spent over $1200 there and this was my second time staying there! I asked to speak with the owner because he is a very nice and reasonable man, she said no he’s going believe anything I say! She had the young lady Rachel to call the police and heather said I was black and refusing to leave and causing a disturbance. This is totally not true and I have it on video! Please if you are African American or black please don’t EVER stay here! I was moved 3 times twice because if smoke and it supposed to be a smoke free hotel. Again I stayed there back in December of 24 and it was a shooting because amongst some people that was there. The owner took care of that and accommodated me. Heather is not a good person to manage this property! I’m saying this because I work at a hotel a multi million dollar hotel and I’m a tell you we would have neverd handled this this way! Had a stay Friday and Saturday. Got in late Friday. Very tiny room, bedding and couch not as advertised. Service is an issue up front. No hot water in the had sink, the shower head was broke and sprayed water all over the floor. The no room keys all digit code and my door was a fight everytime to get in. Door handle falling apart. Closet door chipped and off track. Instead of complaining I dealt with it and simple asked for a price adjustment. THEY REFUSED to do so, would not even knock a night off. I highly recommend not staying at this hotel.

** I am now adding to this review. After staying in the room I returned home and my right eye swelled up. I tried to call Monday, management was not on property. I spoke to manager Tuesday about issues. I was offered another stay which I was not willing to take, obviously. I was then told my issue would be taken care of after they contacted booking website. We would speak again Thursday about outcome. I called Thursday, left a message that I did not get a return call about. Had to call them myself, again, today(friday) in which by management i was told after speaking to the owner of the property they retract clearing my situation up and will only off me a future stay for my issues. I refused again. I have tried to make this very simple fix and have had nothing but issues and run around from staff. DO NOT BOOK HERE IF YOU STAY, EVEN IF ITS CLOSE TO YOUR VENUE. I will...

The owner was very rude at the night of checking in, we arrived at 11pm after driving for 4hrs with a 9 month old. We had a problem with processing the payment so I had to call him and try to get it done. We tried two different cards but it wasn’t working on the website and he wasn’t helpful at all while talking to me. He then told me after trying my card for the third time on the site “sorry you won’t be staying with us, good luck” and hung up the phone. Mind you the security deposit was paid(on the same card) and we are standing in the lobby. My boyfriend called him and his tone of voice completely changed and after speaking to him the owner was able to take the card information over the phone and charge the card. At this point it is 11:47pm and we finally have the room number. We get to the room and the door is just opened. Was the room clean yes, did I feel safe no. I wouldn’t recommend staying here with kids, the room was just too small. The owner did call us the next day to apologize but we already decided to leave and stay a night at a really nice hotel. If all would’ve went well at check in maybe I would’ve been okay. That’s not how you conduct business at all, everyone has bad days I get that. After knowing we had a very small child with us and just saying good luck was a slap in the face. Hopefully others have a better experience...
